The Fisker Karma had one major design flaw. If you rode with the driver's window down and the combustion engine kicked in, the way the car was shaped directed the exhaust-fumes from the sidepipe right into your window.
While I'm certain there are others, here's enough of a list of 4WD soft tops 4 seaters. You can argue more if I added sports vehicles with 4 seats, eg Porsche, etc. Mercedes 4matic convertibles .. S63, C300, C43. BMW M235i, 435i, 650i xDrive; Bentley Continental GTC Speed, Audi A3 and S5.
Roman: There are a few AWD/4x4 convertible coupes with four seats that I can think of right off my head, but there can definitely be some that I missed. Here are a few examples for reference: Jeep Wrangler, Audi 5 line, Mercedes E & S line, BMW 3 & 6 line.
the only plus I can think of with the falcon door is for tall people, or dealing with disabled peoples sometimes that extra headroom over a sliding door would make transfers or strapping in easier, and in the rain, bliss as there would be some shelter over a sliding door (that really is about the only thing I could think off, and I mean the shelter from rain is a double edge sword, you might be drier while strapping in a kid into a car seat, or likewise, but there would be water ingress into the cabin in rain with wind)
Honestly it is a good time to be a automobile enthusiast! Roman: AWD 4 door convertibles- Jeep Wrangler unlimited, AMG Hummer 1, Range Rover Evoke convertible, Land Rover Defender, Toyota FJ...
The MB G-Wagon with the portal axle is called a unimug and you should get one and take it up the Gold Mine Hill and see how it does. There also seems to be a few places on Co that sells them.
i think those falcon doors are a unique touch. its one of those quirks when you see it, you know exactly what car it is, and i think thats cool. it gives a car some personality in my opinion. i bet when they break tho, ur gonna be dropping some cash
Cabriow 4x4 you can get, E-klass, BMW 3, Golf (some markets) or Eos, Suzuki Jimny, G-wagen, aaaand Range Evoque. Haha and Lada Niva, some are soft top, but all seat 4.. also Audis been around for while w the option.
The model x has falcon wing doors so you can load the back without bending over inside. Also for tight spaces. A great dsign actually. They will releases record deliveries next week.
It also has an engine over each set of wheels making it have some of the best traction on the road. A very useful car. Seats 7 as well has so much utility just wondering why it is on this list.
AWD Convertible? Easy! Volvo C70. -Huge trunk -AWD -Turbocharged 5 cylinder -Hard top -4 seats -Solidly built (No creaking, rattling, or other noises like with the Cross Cabriolet)
I agree on the falcon doors, and disagree lol. At times the falcon wing doors can open in tight spaces when the sliding door can't open, so sometimes bettering then sliding, BUT the amount of engineering required seems.... excessive.
I can tell you that if you guys say that a dozen of those Nissans were sold I prove that 3 of them are in my town. There are a lot of those things in CT. It's sad.
"Falcon Doors?" Who came up with that name? MB 300SL, Bricklin SV1, AND Delorean ALL called the "Gullwing" doors. Oh, and articulated door (powered) were first in production on the Bricklin.
Here's a question about the Hellcat.. We all know Dodge is very very capable of building a front engine V10 RWD car, that can set a lap record at just about every single track it encounters. Clearly they know what things are important to make a car go around a track that quickly (aero, proper tires/tire sizes, gearbox, chassis, etc). So why don't they just start from scratch with the Hellcat, and build a track focused weapon out of it and then be able to compete with GT350R and the Z06? Currently, they have nothing at all to challenge the GT350R and the Z06 with, so that seems like a missed marketing and business opportunity to me.
+Designed by Speed from a manufacturers point of view it's not about which car is faster but which one sells the most. And with in mind, the Hellcat is the clear winner!
Well, I can't really argue with you too much at all on that point you made.. But at the least, I hope you understood the point I was trying to make about Dodge needing another, "track" car since the Viper won't be in production after 2017. I think they're going to be missing out on a decent amount of profits by not having something to take the place of the Viper.
Designed by Speed that's not what the hellcat. the hellcat is a zl1 and gt500 competitor, and on the current chassis is just to heavy to do battle with those cars. the next version, based on the alfa, could take those on.
We dont get the ctsv in NZ our equivilent would be the chevrolet SS wagon. with proberly the same power or more with speciall editions. check em out holden Commodore SS
The first production versions of the 2017 Ford GT are now rolling off the assembly line at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, Canada, a suburb of Toronto. Check out he news article on www.wheels.ca. Keep up the great work.
Why are you guys surprised Ford is making a GT? Besides "...Explorers, Escapes & pickups," Ford is also a company that's selling Fiesta ST, Focus ST & RS, Mustang GT/GT350R, and SVT Raptor. Maybe we can include the Taurus SHO, and the Sport trims of the Escape & Explorer. So the only model left out is the Escape & upcoming Ecosport.
Totally forgot about that!! The previous Ford GT40 sure didn't stay on the road long before needing something fixed. ( as example, see Top Gear (uk) Jeremy Clarkson's experience with his).
I thought the AMC Gremlin and Pacer were the ugliest vehicles ever made but the Nissan CrossCabriolet trumps them both. It should have been called the Ghastly Ghosn!
Since the Integra type-R, I have wanted to see the Civic type-R to come here stateside. Have it go against the WRX STI, Golf R, Lancer Evo (if still around), and Focus RS or ST.
We need To see Brabus 800 6x6G class on goldmine hill :D 800 horsepower monster that would be awesome and of course as much as i would enjoy the video the whoever will get to drive it will enjou 10x more :D
" it's a minivan with pigeon wing doors"- Doug demuro. About the tesla model X . And I totally agree, look, I hate tesla so much, but I gotta admit, it's an impressive , um, thing
hey Roman after your unabashedly amazing review of the Beetle dune how come that's not on the list I know that was one of your favorites and you got it like Dune as in dune buggy beetle even even though no one else gets it because it doesn't go off road or anything to junk basically nice try
So if y'all think the srt Grand Cherokee and HellCat shouldn't exist what do y'all think of the Trackhawk Grand Cherokee, The Demon and the srt Durango
AWD Convertables 1. Jaguar F-Type 2. Audi S5 / A3 / TT / R8 3. BWM all the X drives 4. Bentley Continental GTC 5. Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet / Targa 4 GTS 6. Jeep Wrangler 7. Smart Car 8. Mini Cooper 9. Lambo Aventador Roadster 10 Mercedes G Class Cabriolet You want more let me know.......
I don't get the Bentley Bentayga as an off roader. For starters it has hardly any ground clearance. Similar to its distance cousin the Porsche Cayenne.
For Western markets, it doesn't make much sense at all but the moment they said Dubai, I could well imagine it. Those markets are very enthusiastic for off-road luxury.
I believe the A3, A4, and A5 were available as convertibles and you can always have the Quattro if you want to.
true.. question is, in US?
falken doors are the wave of the future
loonitic company falcon*

D Jaquith At that time, probably only the Porsche and the A5
that grand Cherokee sounds great
You forgot the Viper, Ford SVT Lightning and the Ram 1500 SRT with the V10
slik826 yes I had a SVT Lightning and for a truck it's crazy fast

sickjohnson if tesla build a audi r8 type car with the falcon doors all the technology sold out for sure
sickjohnson Ariel atom should be on this list for sure
Not sure I understand how the Ariel Atom, fits on a list of AWD, 4 door vehicle?
Probably....
Audi A5, BMW 328 X Drive, Mercedes E Class 4Matic.
All convertible all wheel drive.
I've seen a lot of Model X's over in the San Bernardino area of California.
this is truly great material guys, love the new ideas
2004 Audi S4 cabriolet. Not sure what time frame you were looking for one, but this has been available through Audi for some years.
Loved the outlook of the top 10 we can buy! I'm rather bummed out by the lack of diesel powered cars and trucks coming down the pipeline!
But M.B. wanted to descotinue it a long time ago, but people keep asking for the vehicle !
911 turbo cab and other 911 cab variants were out with 4 seats, convertible and awd at the time.
Did you forget about the A4 cabriolet with Quattro? That was the only AWD convertible besides the TT available at the time.
Audi A4, Audi A/S5. Granted it won't be a lot of room in back but it still has four seats 💺

Guys the x6m is one of my favourite cars, though I am driving Mercedes C400 and I am a massive fan of Mercedes.
awd convertible = Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with the 4cly turbo
I disagree with the fact of the X6 M being on this list rather than the GLE 63S SUV OR THE GLE 63S COUPE
"Falcon Doors?" Who came up with that name? MB 300SL, Bricklin SV1, AND Delorean ALL called the "Gullwing" doors. Oh, and articulated door (powered) were first in production on the Bricklin.
Guys - thanks for another entertaining video. You da bomb [how's that for trite?] Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR TFL...car and truck!
s4 and s5 cabrio from current and previous generations were 4wd with back seats
I love how only a few people in the comments remembered the A5 which is still being sold...
I've seen many Model X's here in Southern California and there are probably tons more in Northern California (Silicon Valley).
Top Gear UK drove the Merc AMG G Wagen 6 wheeler.
Saw that, it tops everything on this list, even itself.
BRUSHED CIVIC!
7:38 "FALCON DOORS ARE THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE" . Even if I don't think so, but you were so convincing :D

I agree about the Nissan too soon but someone has to do it first. I love the idea of a crossover cabriolet
It's ironic that Dodge now has a Durango SRT 392 and Durango SRT Hellcat(2021 only)! I want them!
We dont get the ctsv in NZ our equivilent would be the chevrolet SS wagon. with proberly the same power or more with speciall editions. check em out holden Commodore SS
There are three of those Nissan SUV convertibles in my town alone, one of my friends actually owns one. 😂
Good stuff, thanks guys
Mercedes loves to experiment ... they have an E type 4x4 ... with portal axes.
Hoping it makes it to production.
I think back in the 80s Range Rover made a convertible. It even appeared in an J Bond intro
Audi S4 was available is a convertible, at least her in Canada, a friend had one
The first production versions of the 2017 Ford GT are now rolling off the assembly line at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, Canada, a suburb of Toronto. Check out he news article on www.wheels.ca. Keep up the great work.
The green Ford GT being followed looks like the Batmobile.
Why are you guys surprised Ford is making a GT? Besides "...Explorers, Escapes & pickups," Ford is also a company that's selling Fiesta ST, Focus ST & RS, Mustang GT/GT350R, and SVT Raptor. could you please do a mash-up between the Jeep Grand Cherokee vs. a Jeep Renegade
4.41 at that altitude... amazing.
Hope you guys get 6*6 or even 4*4 square and test it , kinda pointless to have it here since wrangler is king of off-road in USA
Mercedes Convertibles for late 2016 and 2017 all have 4matic.
C class conv with 4matic
E conv with 4matic
S conv with 4matic
4 Seater AWD convertible? Bentley Continental GT Convertible
+Auston Duong Good one but sooooo expensive for most people
Audi A5... or a more direct competitor: Jeep Wrangler (Unlimited)
BMW 6 Series X Drive
but these are all newer.... that Murano is disgusting but it was the only one at the time
you were saying there wasn't a 4 seat convertible with AWD on the market, I may be wrong, but didn't Volvo offer the C70 convertible with AWD?
Get with Dan Bilzerian, he's got a 6x6 that I'm pretty sure he'd let you guys feature!
Will the new Ford GT make it longer than a week in between trips to the dealer for repairs?
Totally forgot about that!!
The previous Ford GT40 sure didn't stay on the road long before needing something fixed. ( as example, see Top Gear (uk) Jeremy Clarkson's experience with his).
You guys should test the 2017 nassian maxima
Jeep Cherokee SRT is the first really really fast SUV/off roader. What about the Lamborghini LM002 back in the 80s?
I thought the AMC Gremlin and Pacer were the ugliest vehicles ever made but the Nissan CrossCabriolet trumps them both. It should have been called the Ghastly Ghosn!
Randall Collins don't forget the Pontiac Aztek
Two-Face Yeah, forgot about that one. Maybe that should be at the top of the list.
Those Smart cars are pretty Ugly as well....
the civic type r is great what are you talking about. its up there with the wrx. try driving one in the rain it handles quite well
Since the Integra type-R, I have wanted to see the Civic type-R to come here stateside. Have it go against the WRX STI, Golf R, Lancer Evo (if still around), and Focus RS or ST.
guys what about the Audi A5/S5 it was 4 seat and convertible and RS4 and what is the major difference between Falken and gullwing?
the utility convertible: I've seen one before and I thought it was weird
I know it was a motorcycle but that motorcycle with the viper v-10
Why X6M? Because on the autobahn cruising at 200+kph in a high profile X5 isn't as stable or quiet as an X6M.
By the way the Ford GT is inspired by the GT40 LeMans racer from the 60s.
Local papers report that the Ford GT is not built by Ford but by a suppler in Markham Ontario
Saw a CTS-V wagon at work a couple weeks ago, so they exist in the wild. Lol
Jeep Wrangler was available with four seats and convertible I'm fairly sure.
You really forgot to mention the ONLY 4-door convertible in history....
sorry boys i love the x6M is just like an exotic girl.
We love it too. This is a list of cars we're happy are around, but if you look at them from a business perspective they probably should not exist.
like the audi q7 v12 diesel :)
v10 in toureg back in the day was crazy also
you could have gone with a jeep unlimited if you wanted a roofless 4x4 that seats 4.
Hi guys.
There's also the 435d xdrive
I think Audi A4 (B6 B7 B8?), S4 (B6 B7 B8) and RS4 (B7) were AWD convertibles
This lamb needs to remind you of those BMW convertibles with AWD.
falcon doors are the way to love the future
Falcon doors are the wave of the future!!
We need To see Brabus 800 6x6G class on goldmine hill :D 800 horsepower monster that would be awesome and of course as much as i would enjoy the video the whoever will get to drive it will enjou 10x more :D

Falcon doors look sweet....just saying. :P
