- Paul Hulme was at Santa Pod Raceway for the VWDRC Drag Days event, in his Mk6 Golf R. His car is tuned and built by R-Tech performance and AKS Tuning.
I last filmed Paul back in 2018, and with the same mods as listed below, he ran a 10.68 @ 128mph. He is now back out with a few suspension tweaks, and a big upgrade.... He has had the RS3 DQ500 gearbox fitted. He still has some more work to do, to get the setup working at full efficiency, but Paul wanted to give it a few test runs.
It was still in the same ballpark, with a best run of 10.75 @ 126mph. I am looking forward to seeing it back out this year, and improving on his PB.

stripped interior with Sparco Race Seat,
running on V-Power fuel with a little Octane booster.

Big engines undoubtedly sound better but it's incredible how much power can be squeezed from a 4 banger these days.

Not my car mate, I just film them. The forged engine was built by AKS Tuning, maybe check there to see what they use. Hope that helps

The Mk6 Golf R has a EA113 engine, where the Mk7 has am EA888. Both are 2.0L
Gear Ratios of an DQ500 are in fact longer than the ratios of a DQ250, what is he talking about?
Are all DQ500's the same gearing though? He did say this came from an Audi RS3.

No, low 9s you need 700+bhp. It takes 1000bhp to run an 8.9.
