Yeah. I remember visiting this area a lot when I was younger because my grandma used to live about a mile East in of here. This crossing used to have very nice Mechanical bells. All the crossings in this area did. Unfortunately I would never really get caught by a train in this area. Bad luck I guess. This bell does work on and off though. Sometimes it activates, and others it doesn’t. It didn’t work last time I was there.
@@Joshsrailvideos I remember when we went to visit my grandmother, we would pass by the Harlem avenue crossing and I remember seeing WCH mechanical bells on all 4 signals. It kinda sucks how metra replaced nearly all but one with the Siemens bells. Not that I mind the newer bells. But the older ones sounded better In my opinion. And plus there was nothing wrong with them too.
@@zachzebra56 that’s what I was saying to. The bells worked good for their age. I really wish I could’ve visited the area more often to watch the trains back then. But the only time we would pass by is when heading down Grand Ave. Even though I don’t live in this area, it’s pretty nostalgic for me when it comes to the trains.
@@Joshsrailvideos I guess that would be the Elmwood Park station. Over closer to Town Center. The one for years and years to try to realign. Had a lot of trouble in the past because the way it sits crossing Grand avenue on such an angle.
