But once Mao passed away, traditional Chinese start to return slowly and some form of capitalist ideals return too under Deng so I noticed and today almost full of traditional Chinese like Chinese New Year and traditional dance once banned under Mao.

@@DavBlc7 Honestly though I can kind of see why he'd think that'd solve anything because traditionality was the main cause why China couldn't modernize fast enough. He simply tried to fix what the previous imperial government lacked doing. I mean seriously how do you get rid of 200 years backward thinking? It's a sad thing that happened but inevitable though it was childish of him that changing someone's entire culture would somehow "fix" things.

Cats are the friends of the proletariat and the enemies of the bourgeoisie, so capitalists spend countless money and resources to propagate their ideas against Chairman Mao.Even if publicized, people still miss Chairman Mao in their hearts and miss the era when they could achieve capitalism themselves and become masters of themselves.

Fun fact: Many of his quotes were used nowadays not to endorse, but to criticize the current status and policies of China. The selected works of Mao had 5 volumes and vo.5, tho not banned, is not nearly as popular as the first 4 in China, mainly because it addressed his criticisms and warnings toward revisionism that he believed would happen to China in the future(which it did after he died). It is a must read if you wish to learn more about the Communist ideology, whether or not you are a Marxist.

"The Japanese aggressor, like a mad bull crashing into a ring of flames, will be surrounded by hundreds of millions of our people standing upright, the mere sound of their voices will strike terror into him, and he will be burned to death."
    "All reactionaries are paper tigers."
"A revolution is not a dinner party, or writing an essay, or painting a picture, or doing embroidery; it cannot be so refined, so leisurely and gentle, so temperate, kind, courteous, restrained and magnanimous. A revolution is an insurrection, an act of violence by which one class overthrows another.

If you know the basics of Marxism-Leninism, it's actually quite a good introduction to Maoist theory. It was written to be read by peasants, so it doesn't use many advanced terms you'll see someone like Marx using, but instead makes heavy use of metaphors and examples.

I 100 percent agree. While works like the Manifesto and Engels Prinicples of Communism are definitely important, they are definitely a difficult read for people new to communist theory. The little red book is something that most readers can pick up and understand almost immediately, as are a lot of Maos writings. Then you have das kapital, which is like the Simarillion of Marxism XD over 1000 pages long and difficult af to read.

The most misunderstood statement is Mao’s “political power grows out the barrel of a gun”.
He wasn’t talking about weapons or gun control, rather the gun refers to the Chinese army. Mao strongly disagreed with other Communists that the army should take orders from the government, rather he wanted them to be directly subordinate to the Communist Party. Otherwise he feared they would play kingmaker.
