I'll be honest, when it comes to shipping in Fairy Tail, Lucy is pretty much the shipping bicycle. I ship her with Natsu, Loke and Gray. The Loke backstory is really sad too.

It didn't help that when *Spoiler* made an assessment of Lucy from Gray's perspective, they describes her as being "pretty damn cute", which showed some level of attraction from Gray's side. The anime adaptation made it even worse, because they even added a line saying that he was "somewhat interested in her". Gruvia started as very one-sided and comic relief, so it took me a while to actually get interested in it.
As a hardcore Gruvia guy, like that's one of my otps and my favorite Fairy Tail ship, I can def see the appeal with Gray and Lucy. They have real good chemistry together with plenty of small moments between them. Not necessarily romantic moments at all, but in which they're there for eachother. I can see them as cute, but glad there chemistry ain't wasted since they're great friends!
The narrator that you hear on every episode is narrating the book that lucy wrote. Yes, fairy tail is actually the journey of lucy. Lucy is the main character actually, but not many people know of this. So, i love how you appreciate lucy this much ❤️.

All that dub vs sub bullshit, take it somewhere else, it's all the same to me, and again in the sub when the King says old friend it's clear he is directing it towards Lucy, but in the dub it seems like he's talking to Loke when saying old friend, there's one line where he says that it pains him to see his old friend in such a fragile state, most likely meaning Loke who is close to fading away.
I strongly feel you're gonna like Laxus later on. Lol. So far, the anime guys I got a crush on were the ones you liked too, and despite our different personalities, we like the same type of guys.

I couldn’t believe that Karen was mistreating Aries and Loke was giving her a chance to change her ways, but then she ended up dead. And I kinda teared up when Loke was about to fade away. I’m glad Lucy saved him. And the cliffhanger of the episode, I knew right after Loke’s arc was over, Erza’s arc will be next which I’m looking forward to watch. And I agree that I don’t want her happiness being taken away. I love her so much.

The only people who don't like fairy tail are ones that dislike the power of friendship boosts , basically powers scalers which there are tons of. But this show is not focused on just combat like many shounens. It's more a comedy drama with fighting but less realistic power scaling Wise

Your the only person who i've seen say what I always though, that seen he has a cute little face. Even though I honestly think he has a little baby face. Like I love love love Loke's eyes, I think they are beautiful and hate that he hides them, but I feel he started wearing shades to hide how tired he was.. Also love his hair too. Say what you want about Fairy Tail, but the OST early on in the series is pure gold. The emotional tunes are tear jerking and the battle ones are fire. Early to mid Fairy Tail is where it peaks in terms of story. Enjoy it while it lasts!
Lucy is easily shipped because her personality makes her so likable. My top Lucy ships are NaLu (Natsu x Lucy), GrayLu (Gray x Lucy), and LaLu/LaxLu (Laxus x Lucy). Loke and Lucy's ship name is LoLu.
Spirits are pretty much normal people (okay, they're not normal at all...), they just live in another dimension and are imortal (as long as they don't break a rule like in Loke's case)

I always find it weirdly funny when you say that an Anime took a dark turn. Both Manga and Anime are not afraid to show the Darker realities of our world. They just tend to show it in a more fantasy style setting. Western Media is finally catching up to portraying the realities of the world in TV and Movies.
