    Fantastic demo!
    I have seen a surprising number of makers say that they don't use their knee lift. I have another suggestion: operate the pedal with your left foot. A little bit of muscle memory adjustment, but now it is second nature to me! Using the knee lift without your right foot also having to manage the pedal provides total control. Give it a try!

    If I could give this ten stars I would. It’s exactly what I needed for my new Juki. One small thing is when showing stuff and pointing with your finger, the camera was blocked from showing what we were to see. You used the pointing end of the brush and that was skinny enough that if I paused the video I could see. If I only had one video explaining, I’d use this.

    Thank you so much for the Super Fantastic video! This TL-2010Q machine is a dream! When threading the machine the manual shows to go down in the first hole and then down through the third hole; whereas you showed to go up through the first hole and then up again in the third hole. I'm going to love this machine! The automatic needle threader worked the first time for me. I was able to thread a couple bobbins and actually sew on a couple scrap pieces of quilting fabric. I'm hoping to improve my piecing accuracy with this machine. I purchased the 1/4" foot for the Juki. I will practice and learn to use the knee lift. Also, I love the fact you can free motion quilt. I've been intimidated in the past, and I rent a longarm machine to do all of my topquilting, but this machine will be fantastic for table runners and other smaller quilts. I will look into getting the Gypsy Hoops as well as the light you showed. Thanks again!

    I have the QVP Juki which is the upgrade to this one but I learned a few things from you because they are essentially the same machine. The basting info was great. That’s something I struggled with on other machines. My QVP is now just my workhorse because I bought a Longarm but these machines are the best for Free motion Quilting.

    • @jeannem6723
      @jeannem6723 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Admit it LillyKat, your Juki made you into a quilter that wanted a longarm! Me too.

    • @katluann
      @katluann 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jeannem6723 actually I wanted a Juki a long time. My machines though were not junk. I had nice Janome but I used to just want a Juki the one before they released the one I got. I got the Juki QVP which is a bad ass workhorse. I also got the Qzone so I was using it as a long arm. I just always also wanting the Qnique and I got the Qnique 15 pro as my practice machine. I also really wanted the QVP by Juki the long arm but too expensive. If I pay nearly ten thousand dollars I think I would rather invest in Innova. That’s my dream machine. I do love Juki and they are best machines I’ve had.

      @@jeannem6723 Also by the way when I lived in NC there was a quilting store right near me in the country and I think the were APQS. Loved your step by step on how to oil, thread, clean this machine. It was great!
    However, it would be great if you can show what you are talking about. You said something about the tension or maybe it was the foot? being too tight and that you would just adjust it, but I couldn't see what you were adjusting or why you were. Then the foot (I think) was too low or something and that you would have to adjust it so you could do free motion, but I couldn't figure out why you said it was tight (was it the foot? or the thread? and then all of a sudden you kept turning this White vertical thing on top (your left). Well, I didn't know what you were doing or why you chose to solve the problem the way you did. Please provide more info for us "new Juki users".
    You have a wealth of info to share. thank you!

    Hi …love your video….I’ve just bought this machine new from Amazon and I have heard that the machine may need adjustment straight from the box…..I’ve checked the bobbin tension, and have tried all kinds of tension on the bigger tension discs but still seem to have loops on the bottom….I have re threaded several times to check if I’m doing it correctly….any suggestions as to what I might be doing wrong? Or do you have a video on this topic? Thanks so much

    Loved your video. I just purchased a the 2020 PE a couple of weeks ago. Watched your video to help me get started. Absolutely loved it! I was wondering, though. What stitch length do you use for quilting with the walking foot?

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      To bad she didn’t answer you but usually you have to prepare a test swatch to test what stitch length you’re going to use and then it depends on the thickness of your quilt sandwich

  • @debrad5783

    Interesting about that 3 holed part at the top of the machine for threading. I have the TL-18 QVP and the diagram shows it to go from the top down on the right side hole, then go from the top down on the last hole on the left. However, it looks like you threaded from the bottom up. I wonder if it's different between the two models. Now my diagram does say to thread nylon or similar threads coming up from the bottom of each of the three holes.

    • @dcwatashi
      @dcwatashi 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check out the TH-cam channel called Rosies art studio. She by far put out the best threading video on this machine.
      The auto threader is so easy but you really have to know exactly all the little channels thread Hass to go through first.

    Couldn’t see where the oil in the bobbin mechanism was placed. Did you edit your video? Think not. Because no one could see through your hand. You could have pointed to it, first, with a staletto or seam ripper tip. I have this machine I’m thinking of marking
    the oil holes with a dab of colored nail polish. I need a refresher so, I’ll go watch a different intro demo. I ❤ my 2010. It’s solid, heavy. Only needs supplemental lighting.

    • @joannedifrancesco4555
      @joannedifrancesco4555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you can. I use a ruler foot and do most of my quilting that way. I am curious if anyone has had this issue…i do not use my thread cutter because it always pulls the thread of the needle, and the automatic threader is terrible. I have one on my Babylock that is perfect and easy, but this one never ever works. So the unthreading when I cut is super frustrating. Tension looks great, so I dont think that is why it pulls out. Anyone have a suggestion?

      Use "sewing" thread. Serger thread is not as strong as sewing thread, and has more lint. Embroidery thread is for embroidery. Sewing thread is available on cones also.

    • @joannedifrancesco4555
      @joannedifrancesco4555 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Two suggestions that helped me…first, make sure the eye of your needle is the appropriate size for your thread. If it is too small, it will shred the thread and break it. Second, make sure you have threaded BETWEEN the tension disks. Seems obvious, but if you thread the machine with the presser foot down, you may not have them fully open when threading. Good luck!

    I would love to hear from people about the leg lift bar. I find that it sits way too far to the left that when I sit at my machine I am not able to sit in front of the needle and use the leg bar, I have to sit to the left of the needle. It’s a great selling feature, but it is in a bad position. I have talked to Juki about it and they have no answers. I guess if you’re an 80 pound Asian woman it would work, but not for an average American woman. Very disappointing bc this is one reason I bought this machine to use for quilting, and I can’t use it. I’ve watched many videos on this machine. Everyone talks about the leg bar, yet no one demonstrates it because of this exact reason. It doesn’t fit anyone over about 80 pounds. Juki even tried to tell me I wasn’t putting it in the hole correctly, but it only goes in one way. It’s a problem in the design of the machine, which is unfortunate because I would love to use this feature.
