Really, let's take a moment to appreciate people like Penji, who gave up her career, her independent life, her social circle and moved back into her ancestral home to care for her parents and the rest of the family (because her father was sick, she once said), in a village where most of the people are tens of years older than her. While all her videos have an idyllic and almost utopian feeling to them, and she seems happy and content (I'm not about to contradict that she's not, because I don't know her), I can't help but feel a little sad for her. It's not easy to give up one's life for others, be it family or not. Assuming the family is a typical Chinese family, with a typical strong belief in Confucianism and typical male preferences, it's no wonder Penji was the one obligated to come home - because she's the oldest of the (grand)children and a woman to boot. Nevertheless, her decision to come back home all boils down to one reason in the end, and that must be her love for her family. Anyway, I'm impressed she's managed to find a new career and succeed in her endeavors. #strongwoman
I agree there is a certain melancholy, but at the end of the day it has to fill your soul a lot more than to work 14 hours at a career to buy stuff you dont need, never see your family, be used by men in bed and end up in a big flat alone with cats. Careers are overrated, that goes double for women.
I wonder how you think these extremely well scripted and shot videos are made. I'm not aware if she ever disclosed this info but it surely doesn't seem a solo job. Definitely not one with lack of high tech equipment and access to the internet. So not so miserable beind the camera I don't think.

I have to say that I'm deeply impressed at how Dawang always takes his time to eat. I've never seen a dog who eats in such a chill manner though, don't they usually gobble things down like a tornado? Can dogs be trained to eat so elegantly?🤔 He literally lies down on the floor and just slowly nibbles his meal😂 Anyways, I really love watching Dawang, he's like a gentle giant😍💖💖
I think he takes time like most dogs in similar abundant situations, is that he is surrounded by food options and knows he can “catch” food if he wanted or neglected.. but what she makes gives him is the same way we dress up nice to go fancy dinners and eats slowly instead of the fast foods we gobble up in the 20-30 min breaks or lucky ones a 60 min- lunch that we get during work. They live in slower paced countryside so no need to rush .. the dog knows it there’s more food coming; they may forget late but there’s food and they’re gonna eat eventually and he can smooch off them lol 😂 or chase the chickens 😆 I think where dogs are in homes, apt.. and dog foods are hidden and stashed away waiting for owners to give out.. so nothing is available of palatable value to dogs that their brains thinks gotta eat this fast before something gets to it. Especially when there’s a cat or other dogs.. It’s the same in some humans orphans psychology who had to fight for their foods that they learned to gobble up foods before it’s taken or stolen away.
it definitely depends on the dog's personality and surroundings! my dog is a very gentle eater, he almost takes the kibble out of his bowl one at a time, but when we first adopted him from a shelter he'd gobble his entire dish down as soon as we sat it in front of him - I think originally he had the mentality that he had to eat fast or other dogs would get to it before him, after living with us he started to realize the food was only for him and he was allowed to slow down, now we can leave the dish out all the time and he eats when he feels like it, no set times :)

They live in slower paced countryside so no need to rush .. the dog knows it there’s more food coming; they may forget late but there’s food and they’re gonna eat eventually and he can smooch off them lol 😂 or chase the chickens 😆 I think where dogs are in homes, apt.. and dog foods are hidden and stashed away waiting for owners to give out.. so nothing is available of palatable value to dogs that their brains thinks gotta eat this fast before something gets to it. Especially when there’s a cat or other dogs..
It’s the same in some humans orphans psychology who had to fight for their foods that they learned to gobble up foods before it’s taken or stolen away.
it definitely depends on the dog's personality and surroundings! my dog is a very gentle eater, he almost takes the kibble out of his bowl one at a time, but when we first adopted him from a shelter he'd gobble his entire dish down as soon as we sat it in front of him - I think originally he had the mentality that he had to eat fast or other dogs would get to it before him, after living with us he started to realize the food was only for him and he was allowed to slow down, now we can leave the dish out all the time and he eats when he feels like it, no set times :)
My dog will lay down and eat like that, but it all depends on his mood and how hungry he is.
