In Tai'an, under Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang, there are vast areas of quinoa that ripen in December every year. From a distance, it looks like lavender. With a gust of wind, the pink flowers on the quinoa flutter. I rarely go to Lijiang, so I'm definitely going to bring back some quinoa. Quinoa has a special grain fragrance, and the taste is crisp and soft, giving people a pleasant surprise!

Quinoa originates from the Bolivian and Peruvian Andes, the native American civilizations cultivated this crop and its different variations. The same goes for the potatoes. Other crops that Native American civilizations gave to the world and are shown in this video are pumpkins, corn. Other popular crop in Asia from Native American cultures: all the chillies and the sweet potato. Even though the actress in this videos tries to show a more rural and "traditional" China in reality some of the cuisine is a new invention, since in this case quinoa was recently introduced in that country.

I love what you do and I appreciate the way you connect to one another. Food brings people together, but what you have there is beyond food. It reminds me of my childhood family, home and village in western part of Romania (Europe). There are soooo many resemblances.

Это постановка. Девушка, что в главной роли- профессиональный повар. Но мне тоже всё равно очень нравится! В ранних сериях воссоздан старинный быт: печка, мельница, только нлж и ступа и никаких стеклянных тарелок и блендера!

Here in Puno, Peru we produce quinoa, too. It has a great variety. In my town, I saw more than 10 types but there are a lot. Different colors, shapes, flavors and dishes. Thank you for sharing information about quinoa! 😀
