How do you cut your lettuce?

I already do both ways with cutting Lettuce. And to keep Lettuce fresher longer any uncut and cut vacuum seal it if you have a foodsaver machine. If you don't you want to wrap it back in the plastic it was then and get it as tight as possible to get air out then put in Ziplock bag and get as much of the air out as possible. It will keep your Lettuce so much longer.

i was always taught to tear lettuce or greens because metal mkes cut edges turn rust color and not to store salad in metal containers

My Ma had a glass knife for cutting lettuce to keep it from browning. It worked. JMO.

I don’t cut lettuce, you take the outside first to keep the life of it and to keep it from becoming bad faster. If you’re going to cut it just put it in a shredder and watch

Funny thing is I always cut my lettuce with a steel knife and Ive yet to see it wither or brown. Its all fallacy.
