    I know this is a hot topic but I would argue 99% of lenses are 8k ready. I could use my 50 dollar nikkor 50mm 1.8 and it would render the image wonderfully. What's important to keep in mind isn't just sharpness. It's tonal contrast, image fidelity, micro contrast,color saturation and depth rendition.

    If I already have the flycam flowline "easyrig" setup for my gimbal would this still be worth getting? I'm using a canon c200 so it'll be autofocus most of the time so won't have to pull focus. I like the easyrig with gimbal and ring setup but don't love the limited range of motion compared to a steadycam. Granted I've never used a steadicam b4 and known there will likely be a steep learning curve, but I also feel it'd be good for me as a camera operator to learn steadycam operations. But I'm fighting between spending 1k on this or 1.5k on an ifootage s1a3 motion control slider bundle. I'm not sure what the better investment is. Also worried that since this is a budget steadicam system that I'll likely be disappointed with how it operates compared to similar systems (that obviously cost more) anyway; love your content! Found you on TikTok and now here! Keep it up!

    • @JustinPorterMedia
      @JustinPorterMedia  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That depends honestly. This is definitely worth it. The easyrig is more run and gun whereas this will require some training.

    Super helpful! Thank you a lot! Question: Flycam has two options Redking and Zest, I plan to use this with BMPCC 6K + Sigma 18-35 lens. From my point of view, the biggest difference is looking at a monitor on camera or at bottom of a steadicam. What you may suggest from your practice? Is the monitor at the bottom is necessary or not? Is it more convenient to look down when you move or not? (in any case, I plan to buy Vista II arm + vest, but now I choosing between Redking and Zest). Good luck to you and your channel!

    • @JustinPorterMedia
      @JustinPorterMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for watching. So if you plan to use the pocket I would say the redking would do you good. One thing to keep in mind though is you’ll have the stabilizer going across your body so looking at the monitor on camera may not be the best.
      The redking has the micro adjustable top which is real nice. I wish the Zest had that but it only has the left and right micro adjustments.

    • @ColinZiemer1
      @ColinZiemer1 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I would highly recommend you look down on the bottom monitor when operating. Very important that you know where you’re walking and what’s around you on the ground

  • @nicolapaoli4561
    @nicolapaoli4561 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello and thanks for this video. I have a question for you a bit unrelated to the topic, but very important: how do you find the CAME-TV wireless focus system? My experience with it was horrible, it was never smooth, never a chance to get a normal smooth rotation, on photo lenses or on cinema lenses. I had no way of making it work properly, even trying all possible torque settings. And the lemo cable locking system even broke after a few times I used it. Came-TV support is ridiculous, I wrote them even sending a video of my problem, they answered my message was forwarded to the dedicated department and nobody ever wrote me back. So I ended up using Tilta N, and never touching Came-TV products ever again. For me, too cheap, fragile and frustrating. But, I would be interested to know if you manage to get smooth rotations, even for very short movements. Thanks in advance.

    • @JustinPorterMedia
      @JustinPorterMedia  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wow that’s so crazy. I actually had the same issue but it wasn’t all the time. It would happen on random occasions and I finally said screw it. Now I use the tilta nano motor and nucleus m handle. Much better solution.

      @@JustinPorterMedia Oh, that's very interesting to know! So I wasn't the only one with this problem. I liked some things of it, especially the 4 focus points, but at the end the system is too unreliable. Tilta is another life, I agree 100%.

    The padding isnt the reason your shoulder hurts, I have the same problem. You're vest isnt fitting you properly, I have a vest from steadyproline and the padding is really nice except it slips as its too big. Your vest is doing exactly what mine is doing. The vest shouldnt slip after 1 hr of use. And some tips, dont have the rig too far out to the side, your pivot point wont be even on the vest. You need to be at a 45 degree angle facing your camera to keep your pivot point in centre line of your body. I only found this out not long ago. The moment you put your vest on and holding your camera, the vest is already slipping. I counted around 20 seconds before you felt the weight uneven. The arm isnt springing your camera to the side, its your vest sitting wrong thats doing that. Id ask the manufacter for a proper size fit. Balance wise, try to move the gimbal up or down the sled. Its much easier and you'll get a much more fine adjustment. Its very rare to move the bottom half unless you have a super heavy camera. Hope this helps.
