wow, that fantastic gearbox(?) sound reminds me of singledeck reliances
I used to travel to school on
What a fantastic sound the manual gearbox Regent 5 made rember going on a Regent 5 in Ipswich in about 1975/1976 and being dissapointed at the sound as it was a semi-automatic gearbox one, sounded like a Swift (still a god sound) but nothing like I thought I was going to hear,the East Kent Regent 5s always sounded good but the best of them are the PFN 843-882 Batch known as Puffins it must be the full fronts let that bit more noise in to the passenger Saloon LOVELY SOUNDS
Highland Omnibuses had some ex Eastern Scottish AEC Reliances with gearboxes that sang like these, absolutely superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@sappertim1 Thanks for your comments.
Were these crash boxes?
Part of the repulsive trolleybus replacement AEC fleet that were inferior in every way to the trolleybuses they replaced.
