And yes, UChicago is technically still on summer break. Orientation week started yesterday, but classes don’t officially begin until 10/1, which is also when (technically 9/29) I will be descending upon the uchicago campus. Excited to meet y’all who signed up for the meetup, or just to finally see some of y’all milling about on campus!

Some of you may have heard, but I have an almost impossible goal of subscribers I would like to reach by the end of my summer (October) -- which doubles my current subscriber count. I don't think I'll get to it, nor do I think I have a good shot, but nonetheless I really want to try!!
The main reason for this is that going into second year of UChicago, it might become harder and harder for me to upload videos, and an increased audience will only be extra motivation for me to treat this as a serious hobby instead of just "oh yeah I do that sometimes"

I'm just watching this in awe that a teenage Singaporean has better English skills than 99+% of Americans. I admire Chloe's predeliction for Proustian sentences.
English is one of the official languages in Singapore, bro
@@olaamigo5735 Yes, but didn't she go to school in China? In my experience, Chinese students tend to have the weakest English skills as the Chinese government tries to restrict Western influences on Chinese society. All things considered, Chloe is very impressive
@@tomheffron2896 even in China, she went to an international school for 7 years where most subjects were taught in English. But yes, her English is exceptional.

I believe I'm speaking on behalf of most of us when I say that your writing is outstanding and we would all like some insight or tips on how to achieve the same level mastery of words that you have.
...Or write well enough to be accepted to universities the likes of UChicago and other top schools.
The former is not likely to be realized without investing ample time and a hint of talent, and much less by the time applications are due. But perhaps you might be able to help us with the latter.
The Kath Path is a college TH-camr from Stanford, you might have heard of her. She offers a college application essay advice service for a fee. I know classes already started for you, -- in a few hours at the time I'm writing this you will probably be sitting in one -- so it might be difficult for you to do the same. But I ask you to please consider it because after reading your work, there is no one else I would rather give me some advice on my essays.

As someone who love writing, poetry, and thinking about interesting symbolisms and metaphors, the paragraph at 9:48 especially struck a chord with me. I really like this characterization and your way of looking at the dead creators of metaphors is incredibly interesting and thoughtful. :)

First, you are an AMAZING writer. Second...to be clear (because my anxiety is causing me to over think😭) the why UChicago essay and the extended essay are two separated essays right? The fact that it’s labeled as extended is partially making me think it’s the second portion of the first one lmao.
