- After installing our GTB2260v turbo kit to this customers BMW 118D N47 we soon found the limitations of the stock fuel system. Eager for more power we worked with the customer to find the necessary upgrades to overcome these limitations!

Great job and work, I saw a german tuner do this on their 318D's recently and push about 270 with Hybrids and 600Nm Torque. Looking forward to the content to come.

Oh I need more of this!! So many N47’s out there not so expensive either to play with. We’re lucky to have a really nice N47D20C variant which supposedly doesn’t snap or it’s harder for it to happen and seeing this gives me great confidence tbh...
Is that true? I have N47D20C, was worried about chain but if they don't snap ill just keep ontop of maintenance
@@JayVXRif it was made after 1st March 2011, it shouldn't snap apparently. If it was serviced every 10 000 km, it should last.

Turbos are also different between 118d and 120d. Exhaust part is 4mm thinner on 118
I've just had my 318D mapped by a very small company in Norfolk just want to be sure the figures of 200bhp and 285lb ft are about right. Love the videos by the way.

Its all turbo depending but 190's and well over 300 torque
@@DarksideDevelopments I dint think the torque would be that much different. I suppose the only way to find out is to get it on a rolling road.

My 116d made 204hp and 330 nm with you guys om standard turbo and injectors but did have egr delete and downpipe so very happy with my car. Very excited to see what I make after I get the turbo kit, injectors and pump

x3 2.0 tow car has had its chain done, sounds ready :D
its not just the timeing chain on the N47 engine you need to look out for its the HP fuel pump as well! can go at any time whether you have full BMW service history or not.
Misfuel is biggest killer of any cars HPFP
such a shite design chain went on my gf mini cooper d 1.6 chains at back aswell big job went on motorway aswell so got rid. none serviceable chain with a shitty plastic tensioner.
These chains do okay once big power? I ran my n47 at 230brake for a while, without issues after chain changed. But not sure how after going above this?
I've got a 2013 r58 mini cooper SD with this engine and while it's already had a driveway/laptop remap, I'd love to do some more to it. Main thing i'd be concerned about is the amount of heat generated in such a tiny engine bay. I suspect it would make any kind of open air intake a bit of a problem
Make a partition for the intake/custom air box and plumb in some tubing to the lower grilles 👍

So I have a f30 318d witch has the solenoid injectors, I have a set of piezo injectors from a f30 320d would I have to change the ecu? A guy in Belgium (SVRmotorsport) tunes the exact same car as mine and says it’s been fitted with 320d injectors but doesn’t mention the ecu? Any help on this would be very much appreciated tia

Nice torque, way over 600nm 👌. It need is quite weird that the clutch is slipping in higher RPM, did you manage to find the reason for that?
I'm wondering about the timing chain, do they not give any greef, in the long run, after that has been replaced?
I've been looking into these before I "fixed" a 1.6cr 6R polo with a mk6 gtd engine and transmission, but ditched the 1series due to the timing chain problems...

Man this is hella tempting to explore. I have a 2010 118d E87, stage 1 map with egr/dpf delete. Doing around 190 right now. Noticed on the website it says to contact regarding the turbo kit, can you get/make them still?

On a 2006 320d m47 auto, do you know if the auto box is a weak point (if tuning the engine) as much as the Internet suggests?
Auto is strong!
Yes the auto gearbox on the m47s are really strong my have over 550.000km and still going really well
Do you have issues keeping the bottom end in one piece? we have been having a nightmare with our 123d and it's not even tuned.

I've been meaning to do this but my 118D has 97k on it. I have a donor 330D after the chain snapped. Can you use the M57TU2 injectors in the N57. I have a fairly new turbo in it. Fancy filming customer brings in one working car and one wrecker donor leaves with two wrecks ;)
118d has Solenoid, 330d has Piezo. If the 330d injectors are perfect we will buy them!
Hey guys, have you done anything with the 123d N47. I have heard there is a lot of potential in the engine but not seen any real facts about what can be done.

Would you recommend getting timing chain done before any of this even if there is no chain rattle?
It's your choice, they are meant to be for life but not worth risking it if its high mileage and are having a lot of work done.
how many KM/Miles has the car drove? My 318D E90 LCI has droven about 21 000 km. Is it to late to start tuning it? Will it kill the engine? And what can i do to keep the engine from getting destroyed from tuning it? My engine sometimes feel pretty tired and im worried it will kill the engine by starting to increase the power. Would really appreciate some replies and ideas.
This had about 100,000 miles. Get a new timing chain, clean the ports and let it have it!
Are there more differences apart from the injectors to the 316d ? Because I’m just doing the timing chain and am planing some power mods
I can’t really find anything on that topic because no one is actually tuning a 316d

No they are totally different!
Are there any injections from another engine that fit p & p? I heard that with the f10 530d they fit ... some version of the 530d is said to have solenoids

Is it possible to get the clearance or dimensions between the head and the outer part of the turbo or manifold (whichever is largest)? I like the look of this but in my car the engine is sideways...

Depends on the supporting mods but normally 10 - 20bhp

Why, Im from Portugal. This injectores you use is from BMW 330d right? Is the only compatible to this motor right? I get stage 2 on my but i need more fuel, the fuel of 118d os very low, and someone tell me os not all compatible to my motor, i need more information if you can tell me please. And if i put the injectores i can take more power? Or i need put the fuel Pump too?

That fuel rail would drive me insane. Messing with my OCD! Couldn't you have pinched something from a later engine that would most likely be running more rail pressure as standard?
You need an extra inlet port
@@DarksideDevelopments Those newer rail which appears like stainless but its not really stainless weld really good. Did some of them for 2200Bar, no problems. Old rails which were cast thats other story.
how much power can a 18d make with the stock fuel system+lpg fuel system?
Depends how much LPG but I don't like it for anything other than low loads. If you can fit bigger injectors or pumps LPG is not required.

I have 118d on n47 too, after installing turbo from f30 that produce in stock 184hp i cant get more power than about 200hp too. Yes the reason was in fuel, computer says that high pressure pump cant do enough pressure, BUT! the reason was in low pressure relay, in 118d low pressure pump gets only 8 volts in all rpm, i installed this relay from 520d and everything becomes more better!
The fuel pump controller was faulty on this but pump still won't deliver enough fuel.
@OnePT23 For the first all relays are similar, you can simply remap it with other software, but it was easily to me to put relay because used one was very cheap. I got normal 8-14 volts depend on rpm and of course full pressure that pump can do,. Old relay do only 8 volts always, because it is enough for 143hp.
turbo from f30 184 are plug and play or it need custum (i have a 118d n47)
@@mrmizou001 youll need to use your old actuator, the hardest thing is to reweld actuator traction to new position. Turbo is absolutely similar. ive done it all in my garage, its not very hard.
Victor, do you know the Part Number for the low pressure fuel pump controller? you said 520d, was it e60 or f10?
What engine did you guys get the bigger injectors from? do ones from MXX engines fit?
We sell them. Those don't fit!

That’s bloody great how much power you’re squeezing out of them but why would the customer tune a 118d instead of just getting say a 330d?

Well, could be annual tax in some countries, i have a 118d in Romania and i pay 30£/year, a 330d would cost me around 400£/year.
Insurance, tax, handling ect.

I’m in the same position but I’m at 160k mileage full service history pulls smooth, fast for what it is, think the engines opened up just had a new turbo too🤣

I wish my 2005 320d had 320 hp.
My 116D M Sport N47 with 154k on the clock with custom map made 191 hp and 424 nm from 117 hp and 262 nm, all it has is a Pipercross panel filter.
Not all dynos are equal don't forget

Hey, what do you think about the 318tds (m41) engine? Are 200 bhp achievable?
Not tuned any of those!
Its 6 cylinder brother barelly makes 150kW realiable so it may be possible.. for week or two at most. Dont bother with prechamber BMW engines, they just suck. Did tens of those, also 200kW on 325tds.. did not last long tho. :)

All budget dependent, 300hp without taking the head off roughly.
I’ve a n47 118d and I’d rather just buy a 330d tbh. The reliability issues with the chain puts me off tuning it entirely.
330d is much heavier

Hello guys, quick question
I'm looking to get a Stage 3 for my 320d N47N - CP4.2 HPFP, Darkside Intercooler and GTB2260v are already here.
My question is: do the B47 solenoid injectors (up to 2000 bars) fit in the N47N (stock are 1800 bar piezo injectors) or do I have to go with the piezo injectors of the 123d/330d n57 (up to 2000 bars).
I don't want to change the high pressure lines (i think needed if I switch to n57 piezo injectors)
Would like to get about 300h.
What do yall think, anyone tried or tested this?
