Our pleasure! Not sure yet at this stage, are there lots of extra mechanics on the expansion? We haven't played it yet :D
@@MeepleUniversity The Monster Trail expansion is very good. Adds more cards to the exploration and quest decks (easy to integrate) but more importantly adds special abilities to the monsters (attacks and passive) as well as the ability to discover specific weaknesses.
That does sound good! Coz the quests eventually are probably being used, and need fresh new ones😊. But we'll have to see if we can get it first. Thanks for that

I need some help understanding please:
Are all trophies I earned active at all times or is only the last trophy active?
And what happens when a card says I lose 3 shield but I only have 1, outside of a fight?

Fantastic explanation of how to play! I just wish I'd done so *before* playing with friends this weekend. We did all sorts of things wrong and the game wound up taking almost 7 hours to complete! We still had fun though. 🙂

2 questions i keep debating over and over...
School of the wolf technique:
When you make a combo of 3 or more, you can activate the specialty. X more damage added and draw X cards 0 to 2. Since the combo is made but not yet finished (resolved), the 2 cards drawn can be added to the extension if possible... right? Friends seem to think its simply more cards drawn at the end of that turn (which is not very strong compared to others...!)
2nd rule... card like cover. Is the card that gets put back the one that has the icon on it or the extansion being played? I first thought it was the extansion but... proven to be too strong too often. Cover is the one to go back?
Hi there! Watched this video as a way of supplementing my own knowledge of the game, but see that you might have left some mechanics out.
Is it correct that whenever you gain a trophy you trash the amount of cards shown on the left side of the board.
When you defeat a monster, do you regain your shield as you do when fighting another Witcher?
Was these left out on purpose or does these rules not apply when you are playing the game as multiplayer?

Just looking for clarification @13:30 or so. You mention if you level up your defense you gain the immediate benefit of increasing your shield level. If you were at 0 shield (say due to a previous exploration card that decreased it) and you leveled up to 2, does your shield go back to full at 2 or does it only increase by 1 as you only gained one level?

In that case, shield would go up to 1. It would reset to 2 after your next fight.

Question: At 21:50. First thing to mention - I have no idea how the Return Discard action works when it is on a tab. Just double checking. On the Return Discard Action - Is the card returned to your hand the one you returned in your example or the one associated with the tab (the one to the right in your example)? I play it such that the when Return Discard is on a tab, it is associated to the card which is associated with the tab, not the card with the tab, but as mentioned, I could be wrong. Hopefully you followed all of that.
It's the one with the tab that gets returned, not the card linked to.

Great video as always thanks, game looks interesting but I am worried that player downtime may be bad if played with more than 2 people.... Can you tell me about downtime per player, It looks like the player does step 1, step 2, and step 3 in the same go, and everyone has to wait... rather than all players doing step 1, in player order then step 2, and so on ... based on your experience how long does it take to finish all 3 steps per player, and in 5 player game, would 5th player fall asleep waiting for his turn ? ... thank you
Do not play this game 5 player. At least two players are doing something on off turns to help the other player. Rolling dice, enemy attacks, and reading explore cards. If the people you play with don't like the "duty" part of the game then this may not be your game.
Yes, there is something else that the other player is doing, like read the story on the card, so 3 players is probably the number that we enjoy. 2 player is not bad too. But then if everyone knows what they are doing, maybe it would be faster.
25:33 i feel like this is wrong. Are you sure you must have atleast 1 card in hand/deck? I thought rule was if you empty out oponent deck on your turn you claim victory. So if i play my last card with 3 atk to kill monster with 3 cards in monster deck i still should claim victory even tho i run of cards. Please clarify
We asked the publisher to clarify the video, so not sure sorry. Would it be like new update 🤔 maybe?
General fighting rules say: Once your Life Pool Deck runs out AND you discard/PLAY your last in-hand card, you are KNOCKED OUT.
Moving down to Monster fight outcomes ; Driving the monster away: If you are KNOCKED-OUT during a fight, but you manage to reduce the Monster's Life Pool to 1 OR 0! , you DRIVE the monster away.
So that means, when your reduce Monster's Life Pool to 0, you MUST have at least 1 card in your hand to claim VICTORY, otherwise you DRIVE IT AWAY.
@@rudidesancic5345 yes i agree, but when you are knocked out is not clear. Page 23 states that you are imidietly knocked out if you are taking damage and run of cards in hand/deck. My question is what's if its your turn and you have last card in hand killing monster with that card. Aren't you won combat in this case? Damage alocated should trigger knockout, but you technicly didn't took any damage on your turn. (We exlude expansions for now)
Page 20 states before you check if your witcher gets knockout you first resolve played cards. Which mean page 25 rule should trigger first, because its immediate effect.

attention to this :AND you PLAY your last in-hand card, you are KNOCKED OUT.
In my understanding, you must make sure, tthat u have at lest 1 card in your hand LEFT, when u kill a monster.
So killing it with your last card in hand is something like double knock-out, except both survive :) (your are knocked out, but monster runs away)

"When player deck is deplated and player don't have cards in hand, witcher become knockout. Before resolving if witcher is knockedout cards should be resolved first".
Which means you actually might resolve defeating of monster instead knocking out...
Does the loser of a witcher fight go diwn the trophy track?
