Rise against is one of the greatest bands of this modern age. Not only is their music beautiful but they're meaningful too. They mean something. This band needs more recognition!
I met Rise Against in 2008 through a friend from Canada. The first song presented was a prayer of refuge, I never stopped listening to them. greetings from Brazil!
That's truly appreciated. Born and raised in New Orleans and its truly an amazing city and the people are very resilient. Louisiana has some of the most down to earth, good people you could ever meet. Again, thank you.

come back to this for every hurricane. sucks to see that destruction is the only time our nation has togetherness. hope everyone gets through this & takes the required precautions.
This band is special, most bands who try the message thing come off as corny (mostly country bands) but these guys not only have the sound to back it up, but so good at telling the story it gives you emotions.
This is even sadder now with Hurricane Helene. The Southern States have lost SO MUCH, and I feel so sad for the children and families who lost everything or worse, died from this storm.... I have my mother's dreams, I have my father's eyes, You can't take that from me, Just go ahead and try. The crescent city sleeps, While giants in the sky, Preparing to unleash, Let loose a mighty cry. Can nobody save us? Will anyone try? The bayou is burning, The cypress is dying. And all along they're saying. Help is on the way (They said, they said) Help is on the way (They said, they said) One by land, two by sea. Right there in front of me. Help is on the way. Five thousand feet below, As black smoke engulfs the sky, The ocean floor explodes, Eleven mothers cry. My bones all resonate, A burning lullaby, You can't take that from me, Just go ahead and try. She stands at the shoreline, With hands in the air, Her words pierce the dark night, "Does anyone care? " And all along they're saying Help is on the way (They said, they said) Help is on the way (They said, they said) One by land, two by sea. Right there in front of me. Help is on the way. Right here! Right here! [x3] Choking on the black gold, Upon which we rely, We keep axes in the attics, To see cameras in the sky. "We keep axes in the attic to see cameras in the sky." So fucking powerful. I remember how that was actually happening. This song is slowly starting to feel relevant these days if things continue like they have been.
This song meant so much after surviving Katrina & Rita in Louisiana, and now I have a feeling it is gonna be fighting to survive Harvey & Irma in Texas...
The more I think about it, that has to be one of the most chilling feelings ever! having authorities tell you that you should stay put and don't worry, help is on the way! except it wasn't... I can't even imagine how that feels or they went through!
...the sewol ferry tragedy is a perfect example of the consequences of that. It's chilling. Especially because by the time anyone realizes the truth, it's often too late.
This song hits close to me, as I was one of almost 90,000 people evacuated from wildfires that ripped through my city. It was a feeling of 'What do we do now?' And what a relief to know that 'Help is on the way'
Why all the hate on people who learned this song from "watch dogs"? I have no idea what that even is but why does it matter where people learned a song from? You should be happy that good music is being spread to more people than it would have been otherwise.
Wow Brandon you did Great I don't agree with this opinion either. But I think that it pisses the people of, that the people "Only" know this band from Watchdogs, because this seemed to be the onyl comments for a time. In fact, a lot of them might know Rise against from a game.Need for Speed Underground 2 "Give it all" .
Yeah people should be happy that more are learning of this great band, not hating on them.... it makes us longer time fans look bad, but its not as bad as on the video for Day N Nite.... people were totally cussing everyone out who had learned that song from Watch_Dogs
One year ago, South Korean experience very similar tragedy, "Sinking of the Sewol ferry". Around 300 death. Most of them are high school students. "They were told just to sit tight, 'Cause somebody will soon arrive. Help is on the way. But it never came." as exactly this song says. This song says that we must work hard to help the people who meet disaster and to prevent tragedy. We can. This song is awesome.
The part where they're screaming is so powerful. They scream "Right here" Just like a stranded person who sees help They want people to see and hear them So they scream "WE'RE OVER HERE. WE NEED HELP. WE'RE RIGHT HERE"
This hit so much harder watching what’s going on around the world and especially here in the southern states. Prays for everyone making it through the dark times 🇺🇸
I almost cry Everytime I hear this Song because the life I had was destroyed by hurricane Katrina.. I love this song so much It means a lot to me. The axes in the attic Is a real thing I promised my self I wouldn't cry this time but it's okay 👍
I hope you can smile again one day. Maybe is will be better as your live before Katrina, maybe you'll see it in the future as a good change. I wish I could help you.
Hayden Harrison, I've been down there to help rebuild, and seen the devastation, the many lives reduced to Xs on walls and doors, and the places where houses were washed away, gone to the Presbytere museum that shows a glimpse of it all, and all I can say is...I'm sorry, dude. Words can't express what you must have gone through, what you probably still are going through, with the utter failure of the government to do any more than a token amount of help. I wish you luck in the rebuilding of your life, even though it will never be the same. The organization that I went down with is St Bernard Project, and they are still there. Obviously I don't know what it's like to get their help, but if you are still living down there and want help, they had us doing everything, from drywalling to installing new doors to getting rid of a ton of weeds...they're good people. Obviously it's never going to be like what it was like 10 years ago before the Hurricane, but they may be able to help rebuild what they can. www.stbernardproject.org/new-orleans.html

The pain this invokes in me is too much. A few days. See you all in a few days is what we said when evacuating. Little did we know it would be one year before we saw each other again. Many never returned. Those that didn't leave, couldn't leave and those that HAD to stay....I can't get the images out of my head. The water. The bodies. The suffering. Waiting for help that never came. ❤ ❤
"Help is on the way...but it never came"...This song reminds of my childhood, I still remember my 6 yr old self thinking help was coming, but 4 years came & went by no one showed up & life went on...Then I spent decades trying to piece my mind together. Nothing seemed real for a long time, dissociative thoughts even now after 25 yrs. & with all the chaos that is happening now with CoVid, Riots, Police Brutality. I just takes back to my chaos days. For some reason I feel like chaos is my normal & it calms me. When things are so-called "normal" by the world's standards & everyone is "so-called" happy & calm...I can't help but see it as just a signal that the storm is coming, with the cruel world back again to abuse.
the problem is that we live in an epicurean fantasy world - through the best of times everything is SO good that we believe the worst of times will never come. suffering isn't hard, its just that we have been made soft - make every effort to do the hard things now, so that when hard times really come around youre prepared
I hate to be the first commenter to say this to you, but that too is a symptom of trauma: not being able to relax during peace because you're expecting the worst. I experience it, so do millions of others. Many people have lived in trauma for so long they don't know HOW to live once they're "safe". you're not broken, you've just been conditioned by the environment you grew up in. I hope you're in a safer environment now, and I hope you find the strength to adjust to peace. You deserve it, don't ever let anyone tell you that you don't.
I live in Houston, and all I thought when we were told to skip the attic and go to the roof was this song. Funny thing is, they told us just to sit tight and that somebody would soon arrive.
And if memory serves me right we had an American dunkirk where thousands of people answered the government's call for help from the people. God Bless all who responded
That's what they tell you because they don't want everyone to mass evacuate all at once or create a bottleneck. Only the idiots stay put. The best thing you can do is buy or find a small boat early, tie it to the roof or keep it somewhere safe fueled up and ready to go. Then when you're flooded out, start it up and get out of there. The sun beating down on an asphalt roof in summer amidst a sea of water is easily 120F and greater. No chance of surviving on a roof.
Jesus! What a video. Listened to these guys for years but never saw any of their videos and this one got linked today. Hurricane Ian, 2022. Really brings home what people go through in a hurricane.
if you pay close attention you can see where it specifically talks about the BP oil spill of 2010 where 11 men died due to the explosion that's why he says 5,000 ft below as black smoke engulfs the sky the ocean floor explodes 11 mothers cry
This song saves me everytime! Cus I was an abused child. I'm 32 today and still get shit! Still cleaning up their mess emotionally. I hope anyone who is ever drowning or feels alone can seek help when they need it!
Damnit...their videos get to me everytime. It's not like they made one song and one video to impact society, this is a band demanding change. All their songs impacted the way i think about tragedy, love, and battles we face in this world.. not alot of bands can do that. So much thought are put into their music, its incredible the lyrical talent and musical talent this band has. Please never change that.
The help is on the way they said, but it never came. Now i have no home, no car, no job, a dead wife and living in a dark cold alley with other homeless people. Luckily it was just a nightmare, but remember, however, that you can instantly lose everything and everyone you love. So be happy for the things you have and the people who cares about you. Protect your self and those around you, the world can be a dangerous place to at times.
I was pretty young when my family and I were hit by Katrina, but I still remember the panic of the evacuation and the devastation we came back to. Growing up, I learned just how many people were willing to city idly by and let our city die. Between that knowledge and seeing our house still bear scars from Katrina for nearly two decades after the fact, this song always hits harder every time I listen to it.
Poor families that actually went or are going through this struggle stay strong, we are all equals no matter color of skin or financial status we all need a helping hand sometimes.
I use to love this song back in 5th and 6th grade, but coming back 5 years later and watching it just hits me hard on an emotional level. After seeing the house I grew up in completely destroyed in Hurricane Harvey, I see the video in a completely different way.
One of the 1st songs I heard that made me start fuckin with rock music!! The video came on one morning on MTV JAMZ and I couldn’t stop thinking about it
Track is about the desperate hope of those who are struggling to find help and relief in a difficult situation. The song follows a narrator who reflects on the dreams of both their parents and how they’re constantly trying, even in the face of failure, to make things better. Their town is affected by an unseen enemy that brings destruction and death, yet despite their current suffering, they have a sliver of hope in the idea that help will come. The chorus emphasizes the deception of help that never arrives and is left with the realization that help is not always on the way. Ultimately, the song emphasizes the desperate need for help and the disappointment of recognizing that help may not be as imminent as one had hoped.

I met Rise Against in 2008 through a friend from Canada. The first song presented was a prayer of refuge, I never stopped listening to them. greetings from Brazil!
I've heard this song a thousand times, never seen the video. Had a bit of a cry 10 years later.
prayers for the people in
new orleans, all of louisiana, and the gulf coast
That's truly appreciated. Born and raised in New Orleans and its truly an amazing city and the people are very resilient. Louisiana has some of the most down to earth, good people you could ever meet. Again, thank you.
We'll be back soon
Exactly what I'm thinking ... It just never ends climate changed
And the people on the bridge killed by the Pigs
Man everytime I watch this video or listen to this song I always shed a tear or my heart skips a beat because I can just picture what these people are going through and it seems so surreal all I can feel is scare and pain from trying to survive, I love everything about this.
It's not surreal when it's your reality unfortunately. 2 more storms this year already.
Choking on that black gold 😥
This song takes on a new pain and feeling due to Helene and Milton…
come back to this for every hurricane. sucks to see that destruction is the only time our nation has togetherness. hope everyone gets through this & takes the required precautions.
Hopefully "help IS on the way" for those affected.

The actor playing the snake is my dad so glad he could help with the video, they normally only want him for stuff like biblical plays and what not so glad he could partake in this absolute masterpiece of a song
God he's so talented 🥺
Joe bulls
Wow he's got some mad talent give him my compliments
Did you get to meet the actor playing the dog?
Wait, I think I know him!
I have my mother's dreams,
I have my father's eyes,
You can't take that from me,
Just go ahead and try.
The crescent city sleeps,
While giants in the sky,
Preparing to unleash,
Let loose a mighty cry.
Can nobody save us?
Will anyone try?
The bayou is burning,
The cypress is dying.
And all along they're saying.
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
One by land, two by sea.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.
Five thousand feet below,
As black smoke engulfs the sky,
The ocean floor explodes,
Eleven mothers cry.
My bones all resonate,
A burning lullaby,
You can't take that from me,
Just go ahead and try.
She stands at the shoreline,
With hands in the air,
Her words pierce the dark night,
"Does anyone care? "
And all along they're saying
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
One by land, two by sea.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.
Right here! Right here! [x3]
Choking on the black gold,
Upon which we rely,
We keep axes in the attics,
To see cameras in the sky.
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
We were told just to sit tight,
'Cause somebody will soon arrive.
Help is on the way.
But it never came!
It never came!
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
Help is on the way
(They said, they said)
One by land, two by sea.
Right there in front of me.
Help is on the way.
On the way
Thanks for posting the lyrics. Still gets to me. 😢

@@mernaschafer3768 dude there are a lot of people who don't properly understand spoken english (why do u think a lot of people do lyric videos?), and it's good when someome posts the lyrics in the comments because we can read the lyrics and see the videoclip at the same time
Thanks for posting the lyrics

Gets me every time when the son sees a corpse and trips over the branches due to surprise. Then, dad, without a second thought, immediately leaps to his feet and jumps in to rescue him. Fantastic acting and portrayal of what many people experienced during this madness.
This is ONE of the MOST Powerful Videos IVE EVER SEEN
Call me a baby, but I litteraly cried the first time I saw this video on TV. May God bless you people in need out there 🙏🙏
Two hurricanes just passed and thankfully our home was untouched makes me so grateful for what I have
Rise against doesn't get nearly enough love. One of my favorite bands since I was 12 and got into rock. They put in a dope concert too.
"We keep axes in the attic to see cameras in the sky."
So fucking powerful. I remember how that was actually happening.
This song is slowly starting to feel relevant these days if things continue like they have been.
What means that please ?
@@moulbenram it means basically
They keep axes in the attic to get to the top of the house due to the floor water to only see news cameras in the sky
It's not getting better
We keep choking on that black gold
@@FarieFly god i hate the greedy people in the government. It took them 5 YEARS! And they said help is on the way. And they were fuckin’ 5 years late
Sorry I left. Nasty nez was being an ass
This song meant so much after surviving Katrina & Rita in Louisiana, and now I have a feeling it is gonna be fighting to survive Harvey & Irma in Texas...
All my love
The more I think about it, that has to be one of the most chilling feelings ever! having authorities tell you that you should stay put and don't worry, help is on the way! except it wasn't... I can't even imagine how that feels or they went through!
...the sewol ferry tragedy is a perfect example of the consequences of that.
It's chilling. Especially because by the time anyone realizes the truth, it's often too late.
This goes down as one of my favorite songs. The guitars man. They speak to you.
RIGHT HERE!!!! RIGHT HERE!!! *waving hands in the air*
Help is on the way but it never came!
That hits deep! I get water in my eyes every time!
You can always feel so much soul in Rise Against songs
Closest a video has gotten me to cry. Wow.
HydroArctic watch ffdp wrong side of heaven, I came really close
that band sucks
Incorrect.
Wrong side of heaven good song, meaning and good video. I respect and support all military personnel 100%
Watch "Boom" by System of a down
This song hits close to me, as I was one of almost 90,000 people evacuated from wildfires that ripped through my city. It was a feeling of 'What do we do now?' And what a relief to know that 'Help is on the way'
We were told just to sit tight
Cause somebody will soon arrive
Help is on the way
This line gets me every time. Be the help that comes.
Why all the hate on people who learned this song from "watch dogs"? I have no idea what that even is but why does it matter where people learned a song from? You should be happy that good music is being spread to more people than it would have been otherwise.
RooKata64 List everything but PC, thanks... xD
It's on PC too if you didn't know.
Oh man I have this song on repeat while I play watch dogs
Wow Brandon you did Great I don't agree with this opinion either. But I think that it pisses the people of, that the people "Only" know this band from Watchdogs, because this seemed to be the onyl comments for a time.
In fact, a lot of them might know Rise against from a game.Need for Speed Underground 2 "Give it all" .
Yeah people should be happy that more are learning of this great band, not hating on them.... it makes us longer time fans look bad, but its not as bad as on the video for Day N Nite.... people were totally cussing everyone out who had learned that song from Watch_Dogs
I learned this song from Nfs shift 2
Wish they would play more of this kind of music on the radio
One year ago, South Korean experience very similar tragedy, "Sinking of the Sewol ferry". Around 300 death. Most of them are high school students. "They were told just to sit tight, 'Cause somebody will soon arrive. Help is on the way. But it never came." as exactly this song says.
This song says that we must work hard to help the people who meet disaster and to prevent tragedy. We can. This song is awesome.
Remember this playing on KROQ all the time, it played so much I fell in love with the song.
They played this in Tampa alot years after on the radio. loved it
They used to play so much good stuff on the radio I miss those days
I first came in contact with this song in watch dogs
I lost everything in Katrina so this hits home for real... The Crescent City Sleeps!!!

The part where they're screaming is so powerful.
They scream "Right here"
Just like a stranded person who sees help
They want people to see and hear them
So they scream
"WE'RE OVER HERE. WE NEED HELP. WE'RE RIGHT HERE"
This whole video was extremely powerful
This line always made me cry

So much broken lives...this was horrible
This hit so much harder watching what’s going on around the world and especially here in the southern states. Prays for everyone making it through the dark times 🇺🇸
Thinking of everyone all over Australia battling the fires at the moment. Way too many lives lost.
Theres now wildfires spread across the Eastern USA
Too many animals lost in Australia ffires
I almost cry Everytime I hear this
Song because the life I had was destroyed by hurricane Katrina..
I love this song so much
It means a lot to me.
The axes in the attic Is a real thing
I promised my self I wouldn't cry this time but it's okay 👍
Damn I feel sorry now, hope u feel better man!
I hope you can smile again one day. Maybe is will be better as your live before Katrina, maybe you'll see it in the future as a good change. I wish I could help you.
Im sorry
Hayden Harrison God saved you for a reason, help others when you can :) glad you are safe.

Get help now.
You can be proud of yourself becauseyou survived what shouldn't have happened. You made it out alive. Take your time healing. Best of wishes !!
Those blm terrorist and antifa are worse than the police.
Just watched them perform live!! They killed this song! So amazing
I bet it was! That’s awesome 🤩
I saw them this past Saturday!! So amazing! I can't wait to see them again. Been listening to them since I was a wee lad

Help is ooooon the way

Help is oooon the way
@@HuskyGamersUNITE I hope 2 years have taught you how doing that could get you killed?

I already knew this song before watchdogs I'm just happy it's in the game. God bless Rise Against!
The song is also in NFS Shift :)

Something triggers each and every time I hear you say "God Bless this place"
Amazing song, made me fall in love with Rise Against :D Such a powerful message as almost all of Rise Against's songs are.
Rise against is the best band ever
This song made me think of NC....after all these years...its still relevant
if you pay close attention you can see where it specifically talks about the BP oil spill of 2010 where 11 men died due to the explosion that's why he says 5,000 ft below as black smoke engulfs the sky the ocean floor explodes 11 mothers cry
Deepwater horizon
It references the 2010 BP Gulf Oil spill/crisis, sure, but it's mostly about Katrina fallout from the levees breaking. Louisiana, basically.
He also mentions choking on the black gold, which is oil from the BP gas incident
Yes! This song was made for us! I wish people would stop relating it to the fucking COVID 🤦🏻♀️
Watching this brings back do many memories I was only 5 but I'll never forget that night of August 25 2005
Katrina will always haunt me
This video had me crying throughout. Thank you for making such a powerful music video, Rise Against💟💟
Same. It gets you thinking about what happened to everyone there and who lost their loved ones in Hurricane Katrina.
I'm by no means religious. But may god be with the people of Florida, Georgia, and North Carolina.
Seeing everything happen in Florida right now, made me remember this vid.
This video is so sadly, crushingly true and beautiful all at once.... Rise Against you are modern day American historians.
Plz let's not make this song go cold....let's play this band until the end of time....❤❤❤
We aren't going anywhere!
@@AX10S salute to you ...bless
Still listening my fellow Rocker!!
Always here
Such a powerful and emotional song. Great band.
You are welcome and Merry Christmas.
This is why I fucking LOVE Rise Against! They show us, what's wrong with the World...
What's wrong with the world? This is a video of a family experiencing a natural disaster, how does that show what's wrong with the world?
Forever That the Government doesn't give a flying F*ck about the people! Why do you think, is it called "Help is on the way"!
This is why I love this song. It's talk about the curle world.
