For the hot end I use a Q-tip and a plastic razor blade. Just avoid leaving cotton fibers stuck to the hot end. Blue shop towels or old cotton t-shirts could be helpful too.(just cut into small patches) For the build plate, warm soapy water works for my applications. Isopropyl is a great but expensive cleaner now.(miss pre-pandemic prices) Thanks for keeping it real and sorry others have to nag you on the appearance of your printer.
I just got a Bambu Lab A1 and I am returning the Ender 3 mainly because Creality doesn't have a budget AMS option. I do understand why some people would be turned off by Bambu Lab. I initially passed it over because the closed source firmware and RFID makes me worry they may go down the HP/Brother laser printer road where you can't use custom filament. I don't think that will happen, I think it's just a convenience thing but still a concern and you know they are thinking about it. That aside, the Bambu is way more refined, costs about the same and has an AMS option. If you want a Creality AMS you have to buy the $1200 flagship or your out of luck.
Preventative maintenance kills lol! Can't tell you how many times the guys at work have killed a piece of equipment doing their regular PMS... This is how I fried my last motherboard LOL instead of the thermostat it was a fan wire that came out and let the magic smoke out
YES!!… YES!!!… HE FINALLY CLEANED THE DAMN PRINTER!!!!…. YESSSSSSS!!!!!…. NOW I CAN REST IN PEACE!!!… knowing that machine will finally get the love it deserves!!!….😅
Watching this is making me feel targeted about my SV06 lmao. Been printing for a bit for some functional things, need to give my enclosure a little bit of a clean soon. Always nice to keep these things tidy to keep them going for as long as they can.
That is 100% how i killed my Wanhao i3 Mini unfortunately it broke the main board, registers 27 degrees at all times even when no thermistor is plugged in. shame, loved that little printer but with new printers being so affordable i couldn't justify sinking money into it.
every 4-6 months or when I think it needs it, I will tear my prusa's completely apart, clean everything and fix anything that needs fixing or that is worn and reassemble and relube, recalibrate.
Cleaning nozzle exterior: fine-bristle brass brush. Can't scratch the nozzle, removes caked-on shmoo without using cotton...no pesky fibers. The brush will accumulate nozzle-goo, so now your brush needs cleaning. Inside the nozzle? I'll leave that to Atomic pulls...(don't ever Atomic pull an Olsonn Ruby nozzle...you will remove the sleeve holding the Ruby in place. Nothing a little solder can't fix...Olsonn, why aren't you soldering/brazing the sleeve?)
Update: I fixed it!

Basically
Infinite Silk-PLA if you add a spider.
Haha.
"Do you lube the bearings?"
"The what?"
Just like that.

They sell appliances, not hobby kits. How many things that you bought in your life allow you to update the firmware?
It's made by a Chinese company and I'm concerned about data privacy

Honestly your printer prior to cleaning looks cleaner than mine lol! I don't know how the fans even spin with all that cat hair in it but they do. 😂

How is this printer dirtier than the one I've had sitting in a closet for a year
Before I even started this video I knew what was going to happen 😂

As someone who owns 2 shepherds and many 3d printers.. yeah.. i understand the pain.

this was incredibly satisfying

Pro tip: just use really hot water and a plastic scraper to get the glue stick off the bed.
I’m just fried a couple of boards doing that 😅

I mean good on you for cleaning it but why leave it plugged in in the first place? YOu were already moving it from its spot.
update your firmware... Latest for you is 6.1.2
Been there done that.
More than once...
Nice try cleaning it :)
