Now you know the acoustic reflex arc, isn't it? In simple terms; the contraction of stapedius muscle stiffens the middle ear, thus decreasing middle ear admittance. this is measured using tympanometry

Maam is there any way to do impedance in a perforated drum ? Something called Williams test?

Tympanometry is an established method of measuring the volume contained within a closed air space.In a TM perforation, Tympanogram give a flat curve,is an estimate of combined volume with in ear canal,middle ear and mastoid.William test is a tympanometric pressure swallow test to assess ET function behind an intact tympanic membrane.
