As a foster and adoptive mom, I want to comment on a few inaccuracies in this video: 1. Yes, there are foster parents who take in kids for the income. I’ve taken in kids who were removed from their previous foster homes because their foster parents were using fostering as a source of income. But if they’re this blatant about it, practically screaming about it at the IHOP, they would definitely lose their license. You’re supposed to use the stipend you get for fostering to take care of the kids. 2. If the mother had voluntarily given up her child, and the social worker was in contact with her, she would have been visiting her daughter on a regular basis and would have been given every opportunity to stay in her daughter’s life until her daughter could live with her again. The first goal is always family reunification. I have never fostered a child who wasn’t allowed regular visits if that was a possibility. 3. There isn’t a set contract for fostering. The child is in your home until they can be reunified with their parents or until a social worker decides otherwise. And you can’t return a child like you would return a pair of shoes. There needs to be a major problem with the fostering situation, and even then, the child may be with you until another foster home is found. There is a laundry list of other inaccuracies but I don’t wany to write a novel. Videos like this make me so angry because they discourage people from fostering and stigmatize foster kids.
You are my Hero right now. I just ranted a bit recently how, as a former foster child, this video made me so angry because I'm quite aware of how the system works. Not to mention, most of Dhar Mann’s foster care videos paint a negative picture of the foster family and a positive picture of the biological family when, most of the time, the kids are taken from their bio families to PROTECT THEM from said families
I doubt Dharr Man even knows what Cinderella is. The "Indian Cinderella" skit he made showed the scene where the characters did a Cinderella stage play that literally started with Cinderella already becoming a princess.

This Dhar Mann video was ripped from a “What Would You Do?” Episode. It was basically the same. As sad as I am to say this, this unfortunately is what the foster care system can be like. There are people out there who do it for money and only for the money
Theres still misinformation (like if the parent willingly gave the child up they are allowed regular visitation and reuniting them is the main goal still a bunch of hoops of course because nothing is simple)
Doesn’t a foster home get like… regular checks to ensure the child is ok? Was that woman who seems to rather openly show extreme favoritism in _public_ that good at hiding neglect? Maybe that’s why the social worker was so dramatic, she was hiding her own failures at her job?
As someone who is actually interested in becoming a foster parent, this video is extremely insulting. Sure, these types of people exist. There are leeches in any system for everything. I absolutely hate this portrayal. Why is it the foster parents are literally blamed for everything, I can understand the kid not being happy with the family they're placed with. You know how some movies are so bad that you like the antagonist better than the whiny protagonist? That's what I feel about most Dhar man characters.
Edit: hey guys, just so you know, I don't blame the actress. Dhar Mann is the one directing everything and responsible for the cringe inducing character portrayal onscreen. In fact, I believe he does it on purpose to get people talking about it. So, no hate to the girl.
Especially with this girl who literally does nothing but cry in majority of dhar Mann videos she’s in🤦♂️
@@silashurd3597 If I was in the girl's position, I'd get up and walk away at that point not just sit there.
Totally agree. Dhar Mann vids have succeed several times to bring up the most apathic asshole in me completely destroying what the video was supposed to tell or "teach".
@BB I admit I don’t really like Dhar Mann, but it is not easy to cry in the right moment. I think that makes her a good actor. I remember seeing like this 1 episode of a series where the actor couldn’t cry in the right moment. Looked a little weird to be honest.
@BB Yep. She talks as if she is about to burst in tears in _every_ video but gets shout-outs for being 'talented'.
5:50 not only did she give you up, she let you down, and ran around and deserted you, and made you cry, and didn't even say goodbye, she told lies and hurt you

Travis must be Dhar Mann's self insert. He's completely unaware but ultra positive about everything
The problem with many of his videos is the writing and the dialogue. Many of the actors in the scenes, do the best they can with the material. The girl who plays the foster child is a good actress- just that the writing is lazy. As for Travis, his character was the worse written-can’t completely blame the actor for his corny dialogue.
Not hating but all that girl literally does is just cry. She might be a good actress but it's a lil overboard
@@jomamauwulololo What I also hate about Dharr Mann is the cast repetitive roles
Like the Foster Child crys and Sadness I seen her do it in his other videos almost every time which gives me the impression that her character overall is the crybaby in this series and it give me cringe
