one thing i have to say: if he's like that, it's the mom's/parent's fault (or any figure of authority) Dhar Mann thinks some kids when are busted out of the womb decides to be blatantly bad and evil from now on
i was raised in the panhandle of Florida and at my elementary school we said “one alligator, two alligator” at PE class when we lined up to use the water fountain. thanks for unlocking a buried memory.
We didn't use it a lot where I've lived during my childhood or otherwise, but I remember this version vaguely. I know I've heard it said a few times at some point in my life.
Well, as a creator myself, I commend him for being able to upload every day. Me, I need a break for one to three days before I record/edit another video.
Don't get me wrong, I like august, his videos are great, and I appreciate that he uploads every day, but this style of video is one of the most low effort to make (I don't even mean that in a bad way).
Fun fact: The saw he was using in woodworking class is the wrong saw for cutting straight lines, now I can't remember the names of the saw he had or what the one you should use, but think of the stereotypical handsaw
I feel like Dhar Mann is seeing himself as the new generation's Mr. Rogers or some wise being that solves problems or something. But whereas Mr. Rogers occasionally uses simple skits using puppets to demonstrate a scenario that involves a serious matter that kids have trouble understanding or is important for them to understand, Dhar Mann opts to come up with over-the-top scenarios that would likely NEVER happen, with over-the-top acting, and a lot of the time, flawed messages. Not to mention, he tries to insert himself in a lot of videos making himself seem like an almighty wise being, while Mr. Rogers genuinely valued his audience and took each moral he was trying to teach seriously, rather than advertise himself to make his show more popular.
All Mr. Rogers wants is for people to be kind to each other. In his show, he was never treated as some celebrity but just another neighbor to his friends. He wants to give the impression that he's just another human being just like all of us. By doing this, it is easier for kids (and adults) to understand his teachings. Whereas Dhar Mann actively tries to promote himself. He demonstrates himself as the all-mighty wise person who knows all good deeds while the rest of the characters seem to just worship him. This makes the audience seem inferior and less important in my opinion. Also, notice that Mr. Rogers himself doesn't appear in the land of make-believe. He just acts out the puppets. Second, while Mr. Rogers does cover dark topics, he does so in a simple and heartwarming way. Like reading a book about a dead pet or introducing a black neighbor. He doesn't over-dramaticalize the situation but treats it normally. Most people juat wants to be treated normally and not be given too much unneccesary attention. That's what Mr. Rogers excels at and why so many people love him. Whereas Dhar Mann provides numerous stereotypical 'bad' people and actors who overreact. Now this may work for some people but I think it's unrealistic and harmful as from my experience, most bad people try to hide themselves. They don't act like your typical Disney villains. Mr. Rogers would gently tell his audience about a bad situation and what to do about it while not caring too much about the bad guys. This isn't only realistic since the bad guys don't always get their karma but alsk promotes self-love and confidence to strengthen the viewer to be stronger, kinder and more resistant against bad people. (Sorry for my overly long analysis.)
@@crweewrc1388 Nah, it's cool. You've pretty much summed up why Mr. Rogers' method of teaching children wonderful life lessons is much more effective than what Dhar Mann tries to do.

Born and raised in NV and I’ve never heard Alligator used once (Although it could just be a football thing and I wouldn’t know cause I’ve never played football)
10:12 You wanna know what is ALSO a lot more embarrassing? This is basically a reused script. This script aligns a lot with a video released on his channel back in April or so about (who else but those two brothers) where the older one excluded him based on the fact that he has autism. In the end the kid's parent makes the older brother hang out with the younger brother. Younger brother is revealed to be a mega chad just like the girl in this video, all because the older brother was threatened with punishment.
As a brother i can understand his argument of why he doesn't want his sister around. I would be pretty annoyed too if my younger sister wants to hang around my friends
Fun fact, August: this video was under a different title when Dhar Mann first released it. Something along the lines of "Tomboy Gets Shamed at School." Guess Dhar Mann wanted to change it to something that would pull in more clicks. Love the Dhar Mann impersonation at the end of this video. This was yet another Dhar Mann video where the bad guy only changes their attitude once their harassment victim proves themselves "worthy" of being treated with respect. The fact that this kid needs his SISTER to be good at football and Roblox to consider her deserving of his time is pretty gross. Speaking of gross, the next Dhar Mann video you check out HAS to be "Mom Forces Daughter to Marry Rich." It's another clickbaity-titled video that's not only super cringey, but is lowkey racist and outright IGNORES two of the messages Dhar Mann has been making videos about for years.
That’s also odd since Dhar Mann himself has Indian (from India) in him. And I’ve seen the video and it is pretty much a parody of those gypsy wedding TLC shows where parents are forcing their children to if you guessed, marry a random dude And in the Dhar Mann video, it feels pointless for the daughter to try to be like “I don’t need to date a man” when she literally dates the same man her mom introduced
Honestly that scene of her playing looked like one of those horribly edited mobile game ads. I mean look at her hands I can't be the only one who saw that.
I used to exclude my older sister because I was embarrassed. But this was when I was 9. I've regretted it for years and years and if it's not obvious enough already, I find it super unlikely that anyone would continue that stupid behavior when they're any older than 10. She got bullied (so did I, which is why I was insecure in the first place), so once I just got really angry at one of her bullies and fought him. I won, but only because I got first strike, right in the stomach. I lashed out too suddenly for him to respond, with rage I have never felt aside from back then. And I think it was mainly fueled by my regret tbh. To this day I hate myself for excluding her. Though we annoyed each other plenty back home when we were young and now we have a really strong bond and all's well that ends well, I still have never been able to shake the regret. And no idea why I'm putting this in a youtube comment... but this video just really made me think about it again - and about how stupid this script is, especially in this setting.
3:20 this is what i found. “There are certain words that supposedly take about a second to say -- the classic one in American English is "Mississippi," but "alligator" and "crocodile" can also be used. So when we want to count seconds without using a watch, we count by saying the number and then the word, e.g. 1 alligator, 2 alligator, 3 alligator....”
5:30 YES! YES! YES! This one sounds like she's about to cry ALL THE GOD-AWFUL TIME! Does Dhar Mann direct her to do as such? I would love to see her be funny in a comedy...INTENTIONALLY!!!
The one thing about Dhar Mann that always irks me is the so-called lesson of "Anything boys can do, girls can do, if not better" It has such a seething feminist undertone to it that it comes of as annoyingly sexist and misandrist.
so true, like when's the last time we've seen women willing to work in 40 Degree Celcius Wheather for 10 Hours Straight under the sun no breaks? Probably 1 in 1 Million. This is one of the reasons I stopped watching dhar mann, his slow but annoying pushing of feminist ideas to kids. Like what the hell? Let the kids grow up without this propaganda.
I notice how in the video the sister is better than her brother at anything he likes to do. Woodwork, roblox (or video games) and football. And is the lesson in the video that if you don’t what to hang with someone you don’t like or maybe even are mean to? You should hang out with and be nicer to them because they might be better at some things or everything you do and maybe help you with them. No blatant message about don’t be mean to people because it’s not a nice thing to do. Or because you don’t like proel doing it to you for no reason.
9:24. It does that to me too, especially when the boy gender is always the one being the aggressor or something like that, making me tired of being a boy due to this. Embarrassing for my gender
At this point his content is so repetitive, effortless, and unrealistic that you can't even try to take it seriously. The plots for these skits he makes are not how real life works. There are always three main events that are either explained or that come back up in the story. And, the actors, the "life lessons", and everything down to the lives they deliver are always the same, and in this case we have a terrible conveyed message regarding gender equity. Who still actually believes he is trying to a good "thing"?
I was always a very boyish girl and I always wanted to play with the dudes. No group ever excepted me. As full of tropes as it is, it hits home to some degree. Now I'm sad thank you duck man
4:49 I’m not kidding I saw a kid tell the teacher “I’m not sitting next to this freak” when he was told to sit next to someone when the guy who said it looked like those chihuahuas that always have their tongue sticking out
Why are these stories never thought through, even on a surface level? - So the sister either is that good at Roblox because she plays it in her own device a lot, which would justify the brother's annoyance that she keeps asking for his stuff or she has never played it before, which would make her an unrelatable Mary Sue type of character....
I once met someone who actually liked dhar Mann, and she scared me. I mean, she also liked the live action avatar the last airbender movie, so obvious bad taste.
There's another thing I hate about some of his videos: when one of the kids play games,IT'S ALWAYS PRE-PLAYED.ARE THEY SO BAD AT THE GAME THAT THEY HAVE TO PRE-PLAY GAMEPLAY!?!?It's so infuriating.
Wow, the plot of this video is pretty much the same as Dhar Mann's video of a kid bullying his autistic brother. It even has the parent forcing the bully to spend time with their sibling to see how skilled they are at everything! Now I'm curious about how often Dhar Mann recycles the exact same script for multiple videos…
whats even worse i'm a roblox arsenal expert here are 3 reasons why that gameplay is not even real here's why 1: that's the old version of arsenal the developpers rolve updated the game 2: the controls in mobile usually show up when playing 3: the person who was actually playing is john roblox himself
Here's what I don't like about Dhar Mann - Only black people have to play the characters as if they were really hated a lot by white people. - Some actors are not actually disabled yet they have the role to act like disabled people and it is offensive and making fun of disability. - He self promotes himself in his videos and he made the actors around him think he's a God.
The thing that saddens me most about this is that even the junk they show in schools for "life lessons" and 'don't bully" type topics are better than this but unlike them...he has a budget. Dear God I don't write or plan videos or anything and I could do a better lessons learned video with a fraction of the cost.
Some children never grow up. I'm in my 50's, and, sadly, know too many adults who still blame everyone else for their problems, failures, and shortcomings. I guess they haven't watched enough Dhar Mann videos.
Ok why am I always the one that gets attacked or whatever the he!! you call it if I don't use punctuation's properly I get attacked if I something innocent like underrated comment I get attacked and the person's comment will probably get more likes eventually or it may not and also just to let everyone know that I'm the sweetest person ever if anyone were to give me the chance cuz I always stay positive despite me being limited to some things cuz of my autism so I'll leave everyone with this I'm sorry for no punctuation's, for apparently being a demon spawn of satan, for me having autism, and for being a kind person so give me dislikes or whatever have you do and have a nice day :) :D :P
"Why's she dressed like a boy?" Have I gone back to elementary school, back to the early 2000s? Because I haven't heard that sentence for years! I'm a young woman who wears baggy T-shirts with leggings/comfy pants with sneakers (sometimes with boots), and just began to return to her old middle-school trend of wearing fingerless gloves. This girl wears my go-to, but with a backwards-facing cap, instead of fingerless gloves. The reason I wear what boys wear, by Dhar Mann's logic, is because I find it comfy. Also, screw halter tops, mini shorts/skirts, dresses, and any feminine clothing worn nowadays; those are too revealing and/or uncomfortable for my liking. But the TL; DR is that what "boys" wear is comfy for me. Plus, it's the girl's character that matters, not what she wears. (This goes for boys/men as well.)
It's even more feminine than what girls in my high school were wearing during winter. In some cases, it was impossible to find out a gender of someone just by looking at their clothes. Why? Because who cares, if it's comfy and fast to wear?
So I looked up the age of Ayden Mekus (the boy actor) and he is apparently sixteen. As the director, does Dhar Mann really think that this is how a developed individual this age would act, or how their mother would reprimand and punish them? I sincerely hope not.
The concept of the “recess” part was probably like they’re probably in like a middle school (The 7th & 8th grade ones) And most schools still have recess it just depends where you live at.
My goodness, am I glad my brother never treated me like that. He was always trying to get his friends (our cousins) let me join in the games. He, myself, and one of our other brothers, would often go out into the woods and play.

For real and I grew up on Mr. Rogers and he teaches life lessons WAY BETTER than Dhar Mann!!

The fact that this kid needs his SISTER to be good at football and Roblox to consider her deserving of his time is pretty gross.

I got separated from my sisters when I was 8 years old and would give anything to hang out with them again

8:28 indeed, another Dhar Mann classic. The “They're there when I can't see them. Aren't they?” Vine boom worthy twist
Feminists are evil
I notice how in the video the sister is better than her brother at anything he likes to do. Woodwork, roblox (or video games) and football.
And is the lesson in the video that if you don’t what to hang with someone you don’t like or maybe even are mean to? You should hang out with and be nicer to them because they might be better at some things or everything you do and maybe help you with them. No blatant message about don’t be mean to people because it’s not a nice thing to do. Or because you don’t like proel doing it to you for no reason.

I’m not reading all that
It's even more feminine than what girls in my high school were wearing during winter. In some cases, it was impossible to find out a gender of someone just by looking at their clothes.
Why? Because who cares, if it's comfy and fast to wear?
