I like those bars under the table because it stops the person opposite you hogging all the floor space. Although I would never actually sit at a table seat as this annoys me too much! Great video, Canfranc looks amazing.
I went through Canfranc in 1987 when I was InterRailing across Europe. I had been to Pau and Bedous in the French Pyrenees a few years before, and so I knew there were SNCF buses going south into Spain so, when I had an InterRail card I persuaded my friend to return and follow it. It was so cool! The station building was decrepit and grass grew across the tracks. We waited for hours for the one afternoon train to Madrid, and then it rattled its way through that wonderful countryside, under hilltop villages that I promised myself I would return to and explore one day but have thus far not yet managed. Glad the station has been renovated but it's lost some of its magic.
Thank you, I have to say this is something that can be improved in general on my video's (quality). I'm using a GoPro 8 and a DJI marvic mini drone. Most of my video's are only recorded with a gopro 8.
Ahoy there. I "discovered" Canfranc in 1980, have later lived in Bedous and have had some info from locals in the Vallée d'Aspe about the closure of the railway line on the french side. I this interests you just contact me.
Are the trains to/from Zaragoza reliable? I’m planning a day trip in October (hostel in Zaragoza) but don’t want to be stranded in Canfranc if the final train of the day does not run.
@@Trainviking That small station is polemic Theh spent hella money The ticket sells arent opened yet Tuere was place for 2 stores not open Those screens costed 15000 euro each Plus they spent millions in 3 underpasses that cannit be used yet

Thanks for the interesting report - what a grand station with a fascinating history. I hope they restore the roundhouse one day.

Wij zijn er in 2011 geweest! Toen was het nog 1 grote bende. Maar dat had zijn charme. Beauty in decay!
After seeing a TV program about Canfranc, I rode there from the UK on my way to Portugal on my motorcycle. I stayed at the hotel and it was amazing.
we are planning a trip to North Spain.. congrats on the channel. Keep up the good work.
I was there 3 times this year
Also. The first city on the line is Jaca with 13000 people and then Huesca with 60000 people
Aahhh cool. It's nice over there.
Great video! 👍
I like the quality and coloration of the video, particularly the part from 7:30 onwards. What camera do/did you use?

Great trip report
15:02 That is Huesca station
I was in April going to Zaragoza there
I feel you should have included the view one has from the train between Jaca and Huesca of the magnificent Mallos de Riglos.

You did it
Yes 😀.

Based on my experience, they are reliable. However, if you travel, things might always go a bit differently as planned.
@@Trainviking Indeed I can only be so prepared. At least there’s the two hotels if I do need an emergency stay.
17:26 old bridge piers.
They are going to resume the service tho
Aaahhh that would be great.
The screens don't work either
That's correct.

So the train is actually a Spanish version of the Danish IC3 (the famous rubber nosed train), but it hasn't aged well.

I found this out after I edited the video. However the Danish IC3 trains are MUCH better.
@@Trainviking Totally agree with you!
@@Trainviking i use this train daily
Barcelona is in the north of Zamora not in the south.
Oops, I did this a bit too fast, including the editing.
@@Trainviking I didnt say it as criticism but so you are aware of it in case you wanna do something about it or even if you don't 😁👍
I ent through Canfranc in 1966 when I went to study in Jaca oon a student course
