I was blessed enough, one day, to have received an invitation to take a ride in a Beechcraft Staggerwing. Take-off didn't feel at all like we were lifting off! It was more like floating off. I didn't even know we were in the air until I looked down, and found us 20 - 30 feet above the ground! VERY smooth!
I just picked up The Crew 2, and I was absolutely stoked when I learned you can get one of these as an Air Racer. The War Hero story was the first thing I did in the game, and the plane is stupidly fun to fly.
This aircraft's role was as a utility aircraft, manufactured by Beech Aircraft Corporation, designed by Ted A. Wells, and had its first flight on 11/04/1932, and was introduced one year later in 1933, whose primary user was the United States Army Air Forces, and was also produced from 1933 to 1949, with 785 aircraft of its type built.
@@Warbirds And he was trying to buy a P-38. We owned an airfreight airline based out of Puerto Rico. We had a Connie, several C-46 a dozen or so, couple martins, 202 and 404's. from the 60's and 70's
Flown by Captain Biff Windsock? Is that his real name? I doubt it, but a nice video of one of the most iconic aircraft ever anyway. Thank you for for putting it on here.
This is number 1 most beautiful planes I guess since it's a civilian base plane that garners all the credits and all the commercial / military aircrafts are like impossible to get
Sorry Model 18 but the Model 17 is number 1 now and forever. The stagger wing and Wright engine, any version, make this plane as close to perfect for looks and performance as it gets. In a perfect world, like the Romanee-Conti of the world of wine, a Model 17 for show, Pilatus PC-12 for travel, and a P-51 for thrills, in the hanger. Be still my heart.
Has to be one of the most beautiful aeroplanes ever built.
I own a xk a300-beech d17s 550mm R/C plane. Same color and design. Absolutely beautiful to fly.
Congratulations
flew with Bill out of mandeville newzeland, one of life's gentle men ,and the plane was gorgeous a big thanks .

Only the coolest biplane ever made!

Danke fürs Anschauen und Deinen Kommentar
The best-looking cabin biplane ever made! Having that big, hairy Pratt radial hanging off the front sure doesn't hurt. ☻
Beautiful bird
Beautiful
Thx
Verdadeira obra de arte...

That is truly a thing of Beauty
Wonderful

Legendär
Is there an angle that you view the Staggerwing in which it's not beautiful? Then add audio of the piston-pounding radial ... heavenly!
Oh yes thx
Произведение искусства !!!
Question. Is there any other bi-plane with a retractable landing gear?
Dad flew for 40 years. He had his P51, But always dreamed of owning a staggerwing..
His own p51 ?

Thats this real Name. Thanks watching
His real name is Bill Charney, but I think Biff Windsock is his "stage name"

Ultimate Avgeek dreams. Don’t forget the Bf-109 for airshows
Minor correction: the Staggerwing is powered by a Pratt & Whitney Wasp Junior, not a Wright.
@@SuperOldandSlow Some models came with Jacobs R-755.
What’s with the two thumbs down for crying out loud???!!!! Gorgeous aircraft and great flying!!!🇺🇸

Is this X-plane 2022??

Movie star sex symbol from the cowl back. From cowl forward, insanely huge muscle.
That's embarrassing---taxiing over a marker flag. At least it was flexible.
