Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next Wednesday for more!
Me and my partner bought a new build, 5-bed detached from Charles Church & absolutely love it - not had any major issues, few snags at the beginning but they were all sorted pretty quickly. We wanted to buy a home we can grow into, rather than buy again
I got the keys to my first house (non new build) within a couple of weeks of you guys, I remember watching your video at the time and have stuck around ever since, keep up the great content! 👍
Awww Noway! What are the chances. Thanks we really appreciate you being here a year later - lots more to come 🤞🏻 x
Thanks
Thank you so much!
I am with the new build. It’s the better choice of the two, old or new.
I could never buy a new build, paper thin walls and no land.
I can see the appeal to having one but youd need a minimalistic life due to the lack of outside.
My garden is huge, it's the best part.
The land i have, a developer would build about 4 houses on it by todays standards.
I love my new build now. But had nothing but problems for 2 years! Some issues I had to battle with the developer to get fixed. Cannot tell you how stressful it was at times. But it’s all been worth the struggles! When is the garden vlog ready. Spitting feathers here waiting for it kiddas!
Yeah, we didn't have to wait as long as you but it's so stressful having people in and out of your house isn't it! Glad you have got them all sorted. Our garden video is flmed we just need to finalise it and it will be with you soon! We are so sorry you guys have had to wait this long ❤️
Funny watching this. We’ve still not had snagging sorted after 5 years! Example of shoddy work was bath waste pipe wasn’t even plumbed in so whole bath of water emptied through floor into garage on day one.
Sorry you had this experience! It’s crazy how each builders / site is different! We are over 2 years down the line and love the place!
Me and my Fiancé are in the process of buying a new build house and this was super interesting to watch! ❤ glad you love your house 😊
Ahh exciting!! Good luck with it all, we are glad you found our video useful ❤️
been in my new build for two years now, from a local developer , not a major builder and the quality of build is excellent with top end appliances and fittings. The downside is we didn't get to choose any part of the internal decorations apart from carpets. But overall very happy. Great video guys but sad there were no 'woop woops' Bethan.
Ah that's good, I guess when they have less to build the quality is better but it's a shame you didn't get to choose. Were you happy with what they did interior wise?
Some woops woops will be added in future, that's noted 🤣
@@BethanandJoe Yes, it was a white blank canvas, but the 3 toilet / bathrooms have the same tiles on walls and floors which we would have preferred to change . It just means all 9 houses on the developement are absolutely identical which is a shame.
Hi guys, love the content. We are looking at a house planned to be finished towards the end of this year!
so excited for you!!!
I’ve been binge watching your videos and just love watching you guys ! Thank you for all the tips with new build ideas and DIY projects!❤
I had a question, I see you guys bought the new build and then removed the wall between the kitchen and living area, was this an easy process and would you recommend it? Also any permission required to do that?
Appreciate your feedback!
Thank youuuu!!❤
Aww thank you so much we are glad you are enjoying them!
It isn’t a structural wall so doesn’t affect the structure of the house, it was just a stud wall with plasterboard so came out really easily! A lot of the builders/team on site saw us do it at the time as they were in and out snagging and no one mentioned anything! It’s two years later now :) x
@ thanks so much for the feedback, that’s great news 😁!
just started following but they are great fun !!
Hi good info on pros and cons, you said its nice and warm in winter because well insulated, so what about in the summer months is it very warm inside?
like a greenhouse because so well insulated? Also who are the best builders to go with and who to steer clear of. Thanks Kevin
Hi Kevin, that's a good question. The answer is it depends on the orientation, our house has a south facing garden and the back of the house gets a lot warmer than the front but I'm not sure we can avoid that insulation or not. In terms of builders, we can't comment on any others but Linden but there are some really nice house builders out there you just have to find the right location and then read up on people's experience with a particular builder. Hope that helps!
Love your videos ❤❤❤
Thanks so much!!
I assume that if the quality of certain aspects is poor, you can change it once moved in? Such as the front door or kitchen units.
Course you can change what you like it’s your house ❤️ but in terms of the developer they will swap it for the same door
where is your co old frommm its so cute
I'm not so sure I would myself I'd rather a older building as there built way better than these new builds last longer lol
Totally know where you’re coming from! I think that’s why we said as first time buyers we 100% would. Family home, we will see … only time can tell! ❤️
@@BethanandJoe yeah time will tell 😉
I like your house but I couldn't live with the garden being so overlooked, that seems to be the case for most of the new builds I've seen. Your new build looks well made but there is so many dodgy ones, quickly and cheaply made.
Ours isn't actually that overlooked because we are above the houses behind but I guess if you're used to having a really private garden then it's not quite that. Yes agreed, some are really bad, fortunately ours isn't one of them 😅
@BethanandJoe that's it, I'm just used to privacy 😂 loads of new builds have none. But I do like your layout, especially downstairs and taking half of the wall down was pretty brilliant too, I would never have thought of that but it works so well in your house👏
You can buy nice trees that will still allow sunlight to come through but create some privacy. Its what you make it 👍
💜👏👏
new build are crap sorry but older houses are better only good thing on new builds are that they are insulated well
We absolutely love ours got to say!
@@BethanandJoe wasnt trying to throw any shade at u by the way just my opinion and im glad u are happy
@@hewoguys2506 oh no it’s all good! Everyone likes different things right?

Hi, I'm a long time fan of your channel here, I was interested in buying a 3 bed new build.
But I have no idea what developer to go through? Could you please give some advice on this. Thanks.
