    Thanks, Chris! What do you eat when you are in a flare? My son has just been diagnosed. Trying to help him with diet and meal planning.

      My pleasure. Sorry to hear that.
      To be honest. I try to eat pretty clean. Nothing in a box, can, bag or anything processed. Limited seasonings (still want some flavor). Usually chicken breast or salmon. Steamed vegetables or cooked vegetables. I do lots of juicing and shakes as well. I’ll definitely start my day with a shake which has all my goodies in it. I’ll take my supplements. I’ll eat sweet potatoes more that regular potatoes. Rice (try to stay away from white rice). But I’ll eat it.
      I’ll practice stress techniques such as basic meditation for calming and de-stressing. Stress is a huge factor.
      That’s the majority of what I do. When I’m doing that. It helps a lots and I heal pretty quickly. The hard part is being and staying disciplined. I’ll treat myself on special occasions cause it sucks to not eat thanksgiving dinner and birthdays and stuff like that. Just have to limit myself.
      Hope that helps. 😊. All the best on your journey. If you need more help please reach out.

    This video meals is for when you are flaring? Or when you are in remission ? I thought having sweet potatoes & vegetables are a NO when flaring due to diarrhea, blood etc pls i am confused. Thank you.

      Hi Jackie. You do need to eat some food fruits and vegetables and even protein (chicken and fish preferably). Fruits I find better to digest in a smoothie. Vegetables you can eat though there are some I’d stay away from. But boil steam or cook all vegetables. It helps break down the cell walls for easier digestion. Your body in a flare will not absorb all the nutrients but at least it will get some from what you eat.
      If you do this along with the smoothies and use the psyllium husk and Imodium it should help you get to a regular bowel movement and the glare will start to heal.

    Please help me with a proper diet plan for UC/crohn's. Actually I am having stomach issues since 9 months. Doctors first told me its IBS which now they are doubting to be initial stage of UC. But still not confirmed. I hv lost 13kgs in 9 months. Please help me as to what should i eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And when I am suffering from a flare up which still I am suffering. Going tomorrow for a Fecal Calprotectin retesting and some blood works. What foods I should take in my daily life, and from morning getting up from bed to dinner what foods I should take so that I can recover faster? Please help me with a complete guide

      I’m sorry to hear.
      I don’t have a complete guide at the moment. It is something I’m working on however and hopefully in 2-3 months will have a diet plan ready to go.
      As I recommend in my videos there are some things to stay away from and somethings that you should probably do.
      For instance. Stay away from and processed foods. Anything in a jar, bag, box or can. No sugars or candy and desserts.
      When eating foods. Eat either chicken breast or salmon. Lightly seasoned. Vegetables must me steamed or cooked. Stay away from normal potatoes and white rice. Eat sweet potatoes and brown rice.
      Juicing and smoothies are great start to the day and great for snacks.
      Depends on if you have liquid bowel movement or are constipated but if lose and liquid with lots of blood I use Imodium to help keep my bowel movements more regulate.
      Try to eat as much natural and organic as possible.
      Hope that helps a little. If you stick to that it will make a huge difference.
      The only other thing I’d recommend is finding some stress management techniques that help you calm down and not stress so much. There are some good calming apps out that that help to walk you through this.
      Consistency is key. It doesn’t happen over night but if you follow this for the most part it will happen fast.
      Hope that helps

      Np. Stay consistent for 3-4 weeks and you will notice a difference but it’s probably 3-4 months before your fully healed.

    Last time I checked honey was high fodmap.. as someone w IBS+D I’ve never had luck w it. Same w avocado oil. Wouldn’t recommend for people w a seriously sensitive gut

    • @cmastre1
      @cmastre1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes you are right. This is something that I am carefully with. I especially don’t really eat lots of these while in a flair up. But they are healthy and better than the alternative of white sugar and vegetable oils.

      This is something that is almost a per person basis and some of the ingredients may not work for everyone. Might have to substitute out or use very limited quantities. 😊

    No garlic for ibs but good looks good tho

    • @cmastre1
      @cmastre1  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know. Some people don’t do well with certain things like garlic. Everyone is just a little different. So if that is something that doesn’t work for you than I would recommend not using it. Some people may only be able to use small amounts and like myself, it doesn’t really bother me.

      I don’t really do Soya. But if I do it’s once in a blue moon. Could be in a food I eat.

    • @cmastre1
      @cmastre1  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it definitely loses some of its antioxidants properties. But there are lots of other benefits that honey offers even when heated.

    Sweet potatoes don't like me

    • @cmastre1
      @cmastre1  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s too bad. Not everything works for everyone. Plus some tastes take some getting used too.
      If you can’t do sweet potatoes do carrots. 😊
