Even when they were having the worst problems between them, they still sounded better than 99.9% bands of the history of mankind, Deep Purple should be considered music peak
@@bogusparasite6655 They kinda explain it a bit on the whole Come Hell or High Water video tape, but if i understood correctly (english not my native language), Ritchie Blackmore and Ian Gillan had some creative differences along with some colliding personalities. Around 1993 Ritchie left the band. In this specific concert both of them were a bit unhinged, but i gotta say that while Blackmore is ridiculously talented, he could be very obnoxious at times.
Roger Glover is really the man behind the tempo of Deep Purple. Not Ian Paice. Paicy played the drums more like a lead instrument. Roger Glover played the Rhythm based on how the lead musicians played. I respect Roger Glover as not just a bass player but also as a very intelligent musician who could predict when the musician would play what next. Roger Glover is one of my favorite bass players.
Glover and Paice=the best rhytm section ever exist. Those 2 guys shows the whole world they still rock after those 53 years of Deep Purple. i think they will be rock until they died.
Steve Morse made Deep Purple even better because Ian Gillan and Steve along with Jon were intimate, when Steve Morse joined he brought Deep Purple to new heights because this guy rocks.

Blackmore/Lord is an unstoppable force, both Ian's and Roger are just as powerful, in their own way. And, they had real heat between them.. the passion of the music is a product of the fires in which it was born.
Superb version, played with immense class by our five heroes. Too sad Ritchie, in a bad mood that night, plays a very (too) short solo. But the quick chords he plays at the end of the solo are fantastic.
A great video with interviews from all band members, with one exception. Just a few gigs later, Ritchie left and Joe Satriani finished the tour. Still, I loved this video. It started off rough, when Ritchie would not come put on stage until his guitar solo in Highway Star. After Ritchie was finished throwing water on Ian, the guys Rocked the entire concert. 🙋♂️❤️

As a Fellow bass player, Glover is one of my heroes. One of the most underrated bassist in rock & roll.
Most bass players are underrated it is an under appreciated instrument
The best musicians were never and are not massive ....... for many commercial reasons
Absolutely !!

I love the melody on the verse, they were one of the feel bands on their generation who had courage to put melody on their songs.

Sweet Lucy was a dancer
But none of us would chance her
Because she was a samurai
She made electric shadows
Beyond our fingertips
And none of us could reach that high
She came on like a teaser
I had to touch and please her
Enjoy a little paradise
The lock was in my pocket
When Lucy met the rocket
She never knew the reason why
I can't deny it
With that smile on her face
Oh, it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase
Feel it coming
It's knocking at the door
You know it's no good running
It's not against the law
The point of no return
And now you know the score
And now you're learning
What's knockin' at your back door
Sweet Nancy was so fancy
To get into her pants we
Had to be the aristocracy
The members that she toyed with
At her city club were something in diplomacy
So we put her on the hit list
Of a common cunning linguist
A master of many tongues
And now she eases gently
From her Austin to her Bentley
Suddenly she feels so young
I can't deny it
With that smile on her face
Oh, it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase
Feel it coming
It's knocking at the door
You know it's no good running
No, it's not against the law
The point of no return
Now how you know the score
And now you're learning, aha
What's knockin' at your back door
Sweet Lucy was a dancer
But none of us would chance her
Because she was a samurai
She made electric shadows
Beyond our fingertips
And one of us could reach that high
I can't deny it
With that smile on my face
Oh oh, it's not the kill
It's the thrill of the chase
Feel it coming
Knocking at your door
You know it's no good running
Now it's knocking at your door
