I first heard this song (and band) 15 years ago now and it's amazing how I still get full-body chills during Daisuke's fry vocal breakdown 2/3 through the song. One of my favorite breakdowns in history.
I enjoyed watching you get confused with this video haha, you pretty much got it right Basically death note is a Anime about a kid that gets a book from a demon he can write names in and that person dies. In the video you see someone writing in a book and then the people playing in the video die. This was not my fav MTH track but the more and more i listened it ended up being my favourite, I love it
@@BlackArr0w TBH I only know about it through me being a fan of Horome and haven't watched anything from Death note, I probably know more about the netflix failure since I've seen a few video essays on it.

I noticed the fear and loathing in las vegas poster on your wall, there's actually another amazing Japanese metal band called fear and loathing in las vegas! I'd highly recommended them since you like MTH so much! Some of their songs are "crossover" "virtue and vice" "counterattack by the sesame sized bodies" and "nail the shit down". Any of those are a great listen and intro to the band! hope to see you react to them :)
This band is also recommended. 打首獄門同好会 uchikubi gokumon doukoukai（Beheading Hell Gate Club） 「TAVEMONO NO URAMI」 A grudge song that was eaten by another person from the pudding that had been stored in the refrigerator th-cam.com/video/dGL5JUP_zaE/w-d-xo.html 「日本の米は世界一」 A song that claims that Japanese rice is the most delicious in the world th-cam.com/video/JGuo1UnOpQY/w-d-xo.html
Honestly it was something as simple as that quick octave slide in the chorus that sold me on this song. It's such a small little touch but it lends so much character to it. I can sympathize with the older stuff not jiving as much for you (it took a while to grow on me and I still prefer the newer stuff overall) but there are some gems that really smoke for people who are working backwards like you are (and I did). Since I see you found the SECRET BACK CHANNEL I'd recommend checking out Rokkinpo Goroshi from the album before this one as a primer to see if you want to go back further. They definitely started more clearly punk and added more and more metal as they went, but that particular track hits the more intense, metal-friendly side of punk like Suicidal Tendencies or DRI in their prime. I love MTH reactions because I like to live vicariously and relive them for the first time again, and you're for sure one of the best at it when it comes to this band. Looking forward to each new one!
Yep death note used this one and whats up people bith great songs. Death note used aome bangers for their opening and endings like the world by nightmare and now because i watched this i will do another rewatch lol
The note that appears in the middle of the PV is the "death note". I wrote the names of other musicians there. “Maximum the Hormone” remains at the end.
A very good song that some parts did remind me of Linkin Park with the opening part as much as like the SOAD parts. Btw do check out Wormrot who are a Singapore band with grindcore sounds.

Also, if you notice, the characters in the video die within 40sec after their names are written which follows one of the Death Note rules 🤘😊🤘
Not my favorite of theirs but still a fun one and better than most bands put out.

This is one of the ending themes for the anime of Death note, and has straight forward references to the death note through out the music video.

Early on they were def seen as a "Japanese SOAD", that's how they were introduced to me back then
