I watched Kristen's video already because I follow both of you. Midwest peeps. Our magnolias and daffodils are in full bloom and it is going to snow tomorrow (WI). I went thrifting today and found shoes, leggings and a Nourishing Traditions cookbook. Nothing else really, but the thrift store I went to was having a fishing event where they had saved all tackle boxes, poles, lures, etc all year to hold a special event. I told one of my adult sons to stop there because it was all 50 percent off. They do that with all kind of themes like quilts and doilies, video games and systems, hunting theme, etc. It was nice to be out thrifting again.
I came over from Kristins channel…I mean who doesn’t love Kristin. Im 74 and enjoy watching you young girls do life. So you seem to be cut from the same page so I immediately subscribed. I just know I’m going to love you too!❤
Andrea, my dear, you MUST keep painting! You have an absolute natural talent, you really do! I'm reminded of a lovely quote - "Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God." Please don't take this impressive gift for granted. You're a natural! I'd love to see you take a large piece of weathered wood and paint a lovely scene. Distress with sandpiper until the two blend together. Or better still, consider doing an actual mural on the wall of your upstairs bathroom! I know you're anxious to remodel and there really isn't much wall space in a bathroom. It's just the two of you using it so it's a more private, personal area anyway . Maybe an Oak Island vista. Go for it!
Buying Stems from thrift stores: cleaning tip for cleaning faux flowers, I put a little bit of vinegar and tad of clothes detergent in the sink and fill up with water, then soak my thrift store flowers, rinse and hang up to dry. You'll be suprised, they come out clean and look like new.

If you have a garden consider using part of it as a cutting garden . Here in the uk I have a half allotment a mile from my house. During March I had daffodils and narcissi in every room, now it’s unusual varieties of tulips. Later alliums, sunflowers, verbascum,lupine,lilies,gladioli, dahlias etc. many are bulbs or perennials so you can plant once and just crop each year to have a house full of colour💐
Even as you call your house a mess, it still is so inviting and cozy. It is fun to change things up once in a while. I always love to see what finds you get when you thrift. I recently found Kristen and have enjoyed her. You both are great! Blessings as always!

Summer has already hit us in the Arizona desert. We’re in the 90’s this week and actually hit 100 the day after Easter. Last month and the beginning of April has shown us beautifully roadside wildflowers. For me, Spring has been a time to be in the yard planting new succulents AND a rose bush on the north side of the house in dappled shade. I drool watching TH-cam videos in other places in America. Thank you for being one of mine, Andrea. (My husband and I have been here 10 years, establishing an Independent Baptist church in the Phoenix metro.) Have a refreshing season in Michigan.

Dear Andrea, May I suggest... take your husband's advice and leave the chairs where they are. Add something significant in size to the table in the corner across from the chairs. Try it for awhile. I bought a few pictures I loved at a thrift store, loved the frames, but both the frames and the mats were the wrong color. Since I only paid a couple of bucks, I took a chance and painted the mats! They came out exactly like I wanted. If you do it though, be sure to let the paint fully dry before putting back in the frame.

I use white wicker chairs and a wicker couch on my front and back porch too, and I use too watering cans with flowers in and galvanized buckets too with flowers also and white milk cans filled with wild flowers🌳🌳🌳🌳 also white pitchers plain or with greenery. I'm a old house girl.
Also yes I think u should try the chairs in the new location for a season! I am doing that with my rocking chairs! I am so glad I moved them, something different n it opens up space for me as well! Lots of good ideas! I also follow Kristen. She has lots of good ideas. I love to thrift as well. My kids are grown and i love to decorate. I am drawn to your channel and others like it because it feels more real and doable. When I see people who buy all new stuff every season it is not realistic for most people. With thrifted and antique finds you can have a more unique home that feels created. I like the chairs in the corner for something different. You could put a small stool or something in between the chairs for a drink, etc. I don't think the table in the corner looks bad where it is. It is a beautiful piece. Seeing things on the screen is different than real life. Have a great day!
My thrift store has lots of baskets, artwork, glassware, and wooden decor items, but I’ve never seen straw hats there. I’ve always wanted a straw hat display, so maybe I need to hit the thrift stores around the shoreline instead of the local ones!
Out here in California... straw hats start at $6.99 at my thrift shops.. I am always so jealous when I hear your prices. Even our clothes now start at $9.99 each! Getting ridiculous. I also love to thrift... start at the textiles and lamps and lamp shades.. then onto the other side of the store, for art, baskets, iron work, candle holders and books.
Beautiful ideas! I love that you hold out for the bargain prices, Andrea. I do too. Sometimes I kick myself for not buying something, but it really comes down to whether or not I need it, and the price. I'm trying to be a bit less cautious in this regard, but old habits die hard!

I have watering cans as well that I use on my front porch. I am looking forward to the lilacs and spring flowers. My summer flower favorites are red geraniums....can't wait! I live in Northwestern Pennsylvania on the lake. We had that same snow fall. Today it’s 73! Crazy weather!
