genuinely while I remember to comment I just wanted to say thank you so much for these videos - for my AS year I was consistently getting E's and below in chemistry and was completely convinced there was no way I would ever get the A I needed - I literally found getting motivation etc so difficult bc I really didn't gel with my teachers. This year my grades have literally gone up unimaginably thanks to your videos, you make it so much less boring and easy to understand - please keep making these videos, they literally help so many people and thank you for all the effort you've put in :)

All your videos are actually amazing! I've been struggling a lot of the last year and a bit and havn't got the best grades :/ But watching these have really helped me understand! They are everything that I need and I feel so satisfied, I can actually answer exam questions! Thank you for your time and help, I really appreciate it as i'm sure you're a busy man, thank you so much! P.S. Any new videos coming out soon? :D
Your videos have been a life saver over the last year, so straightforward to follow. thank you for all the help, please carry on making these brilliant unit 4 and unit 5 vids!
Thank you very much for your well explained notes. I've got my exam in a couple of days and these are so good to fill in some of the blank spaces in my own notes and knowledge.
thank you so much for these videos you have really enhanced my knowledge on Chemistry as i struggle with it as it is not my strongest subject.. i really cannot thank you enough, very much appreciated for your time and effort
I know your proper busy at the moment because it's exam season, but would really appreciate it if you would a synthesis video if you have any free time, I think pupils find them questions at the end of the papers quite hard
Thanks a lot I missed class today Coz I was extremely ill and couldn't understand anything from the notes my teacher sent When I saw this video I feel like that's what I want
Could you explain how a quaternary amine was formed because in textbook it says only tertiary amines are produced. The textbook is rather frustrating and the revision guide is contradicting at times. You're video was very structured and I now know how to answer some questions i struggled on. Keep it cool, erintoul!
Sir it would be amazing if you could go through some past papers a little like exam solutions for maths. Thank you so much for your effort its greatly appreciated! :)
Hi, thanks for these videos; I just had a question about nomenclature. At 12:00, you said the N with 4 ethyl groups attached is tetraethylamine , in another source it says tetraethylammonium . Which one would be right to put in the exam? also do we have to say "ion" at the end if they say just "name/identify the molecule"? Thanks! :)
Why is the primary amine drawn as a trigonal planar structure when the N has a lone pair that would be repelling the shape into a trigonal pyramidal shape?
I don't do this specification, seeing as I'm doing my AS' this year, but judging from the similarities of the old and new specification, can/should I still use these videos for revision for the new specification (the ones with similarities like the amines section or polymers section for example)
Hii thanks for the videos been a major help, Is it okay if you could make a aqa a2 unit 4 video on equilibria and the calculations involving kc, it would really help me out
The arrow Hey, chap. Yeah for sure - I'm hoping to get all the video completed by this May, but I realise that may be a bit of a long shot! Watch this space!
do you have to use excess nh3 to only make the primary amine because like that all of the bromoethane reacts and there isn't any left over to react with the primary amine?
im not sure! I read this somewhere that..."If the amine is secondary and has two alkyl groups attached to the nitrogen, then each chain is named and the smaller alkyl group is preceded by an -N which plays the same role as a number in positioning a side alkyl chain" so now I'm confused :(
Uzair Samad I definitely will be making more A2 videos for sure. I'm teaching Acids and Bases at the minute! I'll get a couple of videos up shortly, but is there anything you want help with?

I second that :)
I third that. I was getting average Ds and I recently got a high B and on my way up

TanHTV There will certainly be more CHEM4 videos coming. Not entirely sure if I'll get CHEM5 ones done just yet - I might try and do some Entropy...
TanHTV And thank you for the kind words!
Thank you very much for your well explained notes. I've got my exam in a couple of days and these are so good to fill in some of the blank spaces in my own notes and knowledge.
This was a great help.. by any chance would you be covering the Aromatic chemistry chapter ?
+Georgia Halliday I shall be. CHEM5 is one that I haven't done a lot of but I shall be looking at it soon!
Thank You !
You are a very good teacher , make my life easier ! :D
Got my A.2 exam on monday , I hope I ace it
If you get any time could you make a video for the A2 aromatic chemistry stuff please:)
Thank you so much, this video was great. Really made everything clear and saved me hours of revision time!
i have the edexcel exam board and this really helped, thank you.
yi nini Excellent!
hope this helps with my exam in a couple hours
UPDATE: It helped loads and I would have failed my exam without it. Thanks for directly saving my A level
What grade did you get
I’m happy for you, Guru Pathik
Brilliant video by an excellent teacher! Thank you for being so helpful :)
***** No problem!
E Rintoul Will you be covering Carbonyl Chemistry in chem 4?
***** I've done aldehydes and ketones (th-cam.com/video/SfNihK9QbpU/w-d-xo.html) but the plan is to do the others!
thank you so much for these videos you have really enhanced my knowledge on Chemistry as i struggle with it as it is not my strongest subject.. i really cannot thank you enough, very much appreciated for your time and effort
This is the BEST video in amines!!!!! Teaching is not for everyone! ❤❤❤
This man is single handedly saving A level Chemistry
The peoples champion
your videos are onpoint.....thank you for your efforts
+Cabdulrahman Mohamed No worries :)
Your videos are my main source of revision! Thank you. Do you have a video on benzene and aromatics?
Awesome thank u sir wrote my Chem exam with ease sir thank u
please do an aromatic compounds / benzene video soon please!! these are the key to surviving chemistry for me :)
This video has actually helped me so much! thankssss
Was just wondering, are you planning on doing any videos on Benzene and equilibria for Unit 4?
This video really helped me get my head around the whole Amines topic, Thankyou! Could you please do one on Aromatics as well?

rojafx I'm just not going to have time, I'm afraid. Work is manic at the minute and I've just not had the chance to get one done - sorry!
Does anyone know a youtuber with videos equivalent to this standard for AQA A2 Biology?
4 years later and still nothing :(
k eke tailored tutors is really good. (But they don’t have all a2 topics online for free)

Could you please make a video on Aromatic Chemistry ? Much appreciated! You're 200%life saver!
omg YOURE SO AWESOME THANKS, can you please make one on organic synthesis
Sara Saeed That shall be coming at some point... Thanks for the kind words!
IT would be good if you could maybe do a video on polymerisation, its so confusing
Hi please can you do a video on amino acids
Thank you soo much for your notes. Could you please do notes for unit 5 transition metals? That would be life saving.
Thanks a lot
I missed class today Coz I was extremely ill and couldn't understand anything from the notes my teacher sent
When I saw this video I feel like that's what I want
sorry I found the electrode potentials video but could you do one on transition metals please
+jeeva1996 I can - going to be a little while, but it's coming!
E Rintoul
OMG Thank you so much!! :D :D What you're doing is absolutely great sir, thank you :)
This video is AMAZING!! Thank you
No problem - glad it helped!
Thank you Mr Eliot Rintoul!
Have you done a video on Kw? If not can you please make one soon because I simply don't understand what it means. Thanks in advance!
great video sir :)
Thanks for the video

+TVandAnimeNerd A quaternary amine can't be formed, only a quaternary ammonuim salt can be formed.
+TVandAnimeNerd What the other guy said! Ions need to be paired with other ions e.g. in the salt, in order to be used.
Life saver!
Can you do a video on reactions of phenyl amines too and include diazonium salts and azodyes in those?
Thank you so much! :)
This video is a godsend, thanks sooooo much! Could you do videos on the new spec?
Sir it would be amazing if you could go through some past papers a little like exam solutions for maths.

Can you possibly do a video on structure determination sometime in the next week PLEEEASE, my exam is on the 9th June!
Please do a video on DNA etc
Thank you so much, can you please do a video on carboxylic acids and esters?
Great video, but what about the nucleophilic addition-elimination reactions of NH3/1y amines with acyl-chlorides/acid-anhydrides?
Amazing video, helped a lot.
Amazing video, thank you!!!!!
Excellent vid
have you made a video for A2 equilibrium and organic chemistry
+shabaz ahmed I have quite a few organic chem videos... Not sure I've done an A2 equilibrium one though. It will be coming!
Thank you thank you thank you!

this is fab! will you do videos for the other A2 Organic chapters?
Shouldn't the electrons on the benzene ring repel the amines lone pair? Making it a better base?
+Camo Saharan Doesn't happen like that, I'm afraid.

Please do a video on carboxylic acid derivatives!! :)
TY SM
What do we do if we want to make only a secondary amine using nucleophilic sub?
How come no N in front of the amines? Eg. N,N trimethylamine. Love your videos!
Aromatic chemistry-benzene video please!
Sir do you mind relating you videos to ocr chemistry, please. It would help me so much.
This was so helpful
Hi sir , could you please do a video on the new spec isomerism A2
also would love to know if there is an equivalent for biology best believe i'm struggling hugely
thank u so much for the great video but u didnt mention any of the mechanisms ?????? 😭
very good. thanks a lot. could you please go through some chem 4 papers?
I've not done anything like that before, but I can certainly have a go!
Would the name not be N-ethylmethylamine or is the N not necessary? Great video btw
when you said that you reduce the nitro benzene to phenyl amine, am I able to use the H2/Ni instead of HCl and Sn as they are both reducing agents?
Nope. You're confusing the nitrobenzene with a nitrile...
do we need to know the mechanism or formula equation for the formation of phenylammonium salt and it reacting to form phenylamine?
+TheLittlePinkyyy Don't believe so.
do you have to use excess nh3 to only make the primary amine because like that all of the bromoethane reacts and there isn't any left over to react with the primary amine?
It just means that ammonia is more likely to react rather than the bromoethane, therefore promoting the primary amine being formed.
yk lifes depressing when you laugh at good base and bad base 23:30
life saver 😘😘
Isn't only quaternary ammonium salts used in fabric conditioners?
+TVandAnimeNerd As opposed to...?
at 4:34 why would it not be N-methylethanamine?
I think you're confusing amines and amides...?
im not sure! I read this somewhere that..."If the amine is secondary and has two alkyl groups attached to the nitrogen, then each chain is named and the smaller alkyl group is preceded by an -N which plays the same role as a number in positioning a side alkyl chain" so now I'm confused :(
I've been taught that too, If it's teritary it would be NN trimethyl amine.
doesnt nitrogen only form 3 bonds?
Thks
why does it have a lone pair if Nitrogen only forms three bonds?
(ethylamine)
Noor Smore the nitrogen has half filled 2p orbitals and so will make 3 bonds. The lone pair is the 2s orbital's electrons
23:40 isn't it the other way round?
is there no esters video

ah the breaking bad topic
