    Nardil is excellent. Tried all ssris and most tca's...Nardil blew all out of the water. Never had one problem with the diet and had less side effects than many of the other antidepressants... taken Nardil 75mg for over two decades and still works as good as it did when i started it.

      It seems like anyone who has taken Nardil properly has nothing but good things to say about it. Seems to work where ETC and even Parnate + stimulant doesn't. Shame I don't think we can even get it in Australia anymore there were always so many supply issues

      @@afrya3307 they were going to can it just before Greg Hunt announced he was retiring all the psychs were told to shift patients to parnate or an alternative.. I spoke to Greg Hunt at the time because I don't think he realised the number of people who would possibly have topped themselves but I forgot about it after that.. it's now provided by a Canadian company under 19A until 2025

      I advise anyone in Australia on Nardil to start lobbying the current dipstick health minister before the 19A supplier is reviewed in 2025.. and also pray that the current tardburgers in government don't get a second term 🙏

    I really like your own internal observations Ben! Bravo. I've been disabled by depression in my early years during university. Went on Nardil, and I remember how I became way more interested in my boring marketing classes and I started to participate much more and care much less what other thought of me. As is often the case, I dropped the meds after I started feeling better. Into my 60th year, I'm quite functional but I take offence very easily and hold grudges and have those "brain loops" all day, every day unless I am distracted. Driving is a war game for me too. My new psych thinks it's mild depression/angst. Thanks for putting up your work and hope you're are well sir!

    You could try Parnate, it has more impact on ADHD I believe. You can also add stimulants if you get properly diagnosed.

    Thanks for sharing your story. My experience right now is very similar to how you were feeling before starting. Depression seems to be worse than anxiety due to the inhibition to do what I want in life, (achieve goals, etc.). Social anxiety is what I struggle with most and I relate to the debilitation you talked about.
    Thanks again, Please wish me luck.

    This was extremely helpful! I loved all your examples because its pretty much the best way to gauge an anti-depressant's efficacy - being able to do things that were made difficult by depression and anxiety.
    I'm on Lexapro. Its been helpful at avoiding negative thoughts but my motivation to do anything is warped, and have zero desire to do anything
    I'll be speaking to my doc about nardil, Wellbutrin etc

      I can give you my take, as I’ve been on it since the 1980s. It tends to be energizing so you may feel a kick start in the very beginning, however the real effect takes 6-8 weeks. I usually go through a manic stage coupled with fainting from low blood pressure when I first start the medication after being off of it. But for me it is a small price to pay to combat my debilitating depression. So far, it’s been the only thing that works. It’s also the best thing for social anxiety. Just be sure to carry Nifedipine gel capsules to break open and take for blood pressure spikes. I’ve found that I can eat almost everything but it’s individual.

    • @MyDancer1996
      @MyDancer1996 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My insomnia decreased over the years but was really bad at first. I use benedryl and melatonin now, but was taking sleeping pills for a while. Watch out for Ambien! It made me sleep eat and can cause permanent dementia!

  • @MyDancer1996
    @MyDancer1996 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have been taking Nardil since I was in my 20s. Almost 40 years! It’s I’ve been through many different phases and have lots of advice. First, be sure to get a prescription for Nifedipine gel capsules. If you have a reaction, you can pop one in your mouth and swallow the gel to immediately lower dangerous blood pressure spikes. I’ve found over the years that only a couple of food/drinks affect me (cold medication, sake, brandy, pepperoni), but sometimes it seems that my blood pressure spikes for absolutely no reason. So be sure to carry Nefedipine. This is the only medication that works for me. Without it, I’m a mess. I’ve tried practically everything else. If the Nardil starts pooping out over time, you need to decrease and then increase back up to kick start it. If that doesn’t work, go off completely and try something else far a few months and then try again later. I did ok on Lexapro/wellbutrin for a couple of years . When that pooped out , I went back on Nardil and it worked again. Other good thing to tr- ECT. It has a pretty high success rate.
