@ Yeah I’m actually really excited for Secret of the Mimic so I was trying to wrap my head around the reaction a bit more but that makes sense too, lol. To be fair at least we’ve only gotten like a minute of gameplay so who knows how it’ll be but I do hope it brings back at least a modicum of the vibes the old games used to give off. I heard the jumpscare noise in that game is literally a mix of SB’s and FNAF 1’s jumpscare sounds so a clash between the modern and old vibes like that could be cool, although maybe hard to pull off. Idk maybe I’m just too positive about these games for my own good. I’m just excited because this is gonna be the first FNAF game I play totally blind, and it’s gonna be in VR. I’m very scared but hyped
@@Bethany_Bradley Mhm, here’s a reason to get your hopes up: STEEL WOOL is better at VR games, and SOTM is coming out as both a VR and flat-mode game. Their flat modes haven’t been the best in the past, but HW2 is leagues better than HW1 in flat-mode edition. I could see this working out, especially since they’re testing it as a VR game too. Plus, HW2 VR is very good-there are only about three minigames I’m not a fan of in it. But yeah, you’re right. We haven’t seen much gameplay yet, so I’m still keeping my expectations low until we get a trailer, lol. And hey, if it’s good, Phil’s friends will probably let him know-or, well, who knows, lmfao! I hope it turns out well cause y'know, who doesn't wanna see things well for the franchise they like right lol. But still expectations are low for now~

I know that’s a slippery slope since I had faith in SB too and while I did have a lot of fun when I played it for myself last year, yeah the game is definitely still objectively garbage, even though I kind of love it, lmao. But I feel Steel Wool has certainly learned a lot since then and put themselves back in their VR element which is nice. I half agree with what Scott said in the interview about Ruin redeeming SB, because while I don’t think it redeemed the gameplay of the title, I do think it redeemed the story, and I’m actually a huge fan of the Mimic, being one of the few people who knew since Help Wanted 1 that Afton was never back (Steel Wool just thought he was back in SB because Scott didn’t tell them Burntrap’s true purpose), so I actually am hyped about the lore again, I just hope they stay more clear about stuff like Scott once was in Sister Location and Pizza Sim. Anyway, I’ll be cautiously optimistic, but as long as Steel Wool TAKES THEIR TIME and Scott isn’t a dumbass with communications, I have hope 🤞🏻

I’d rather Steel Wool take their time with it. Personally, I think it’s just going to be a trailer or a teaser, which I’d honestly prefer. I think summer would be a much better release date for SOTM, lol. Also I know Phil wants to get away from fnaf which is fine, least the mainline things cause he still likes fangames and fnf, BUT, I hope he plays HW2, its still genuinely a good game, like that game fixes things that were wrong in like fnaf 6 gameplay wise~

I can't believe we collectively manifested the "Pizza Plex is Phil's Silent Hill" meme into existence by going insane thanks to figuring out the FNaF lore, thus creating the Otherworld Pizza Plex with our subsequent trauma. Genuinely fucking insane that this stream had an emergent narrative better than the actual story of Security Breach.
And with that, the Pizzaplex crumbles down because of a self-destruct mode from David, the Mimic, and everyone dies! It was a lot of fun sticking around for this. Cheers to a successful Thankmas! Merry Christmas, and see you in 2025 💚

As soon as I saw Chica missing from the restroom, I instantly knew what was going to happen. For people who don't know: In some versions of the gun mod, it can SOMETIMES unload that section and it's collision for whatever reason, and when you fall, the game takes you to that white sphere. I can usually get around it when it does happen with the Debug menu mod.
How did Phil get that gun mod? I looked for it because I wanted to play with it but I couldn’t find any downloads and it’s apparently outdated and doesn’t work with the current version of SB so even if I could find it I couldn’t use it. If anyone knows where he got it and how he’s using it with the presumably current build of security breach I’d appreciate it.
Because you asked, this is very silly but I'm watching this VOD literally the day after the stream took place. I was busy yesterday but I kept checking in to see how things were going, sadly couldn't stay for longer than a few minutes at a time. I imagine this will be one of the streams I tend to rewatch though (the others being Droods and Kong Skull Island just to name a few.) I was just settling down to work on a commission art piece just now! Though, since I have an actual job now as of last month, I am considering getting a membership here starting next season. The music/the scenery towards the end makes me think you slipped into some sorta-, backrooms esque, deleted, corrupted files of a web project of a horror game with actual atmosphere and eeriness. I especially liked the bit where Fredric was made of Gmod concrete.

I'm still stuck here trying to make my own au and a fangame I've been planning for years while not caring at all about the current state of things... and it's still fun, but I do feel alienated for not being able to enjoy any of the new FNaF stuff from SB onwards + any of the books. At least it looks like Phil actually moved on and said everything he had to say regarding FNaF, it's probably for the better if he doesn't engage with the official stuff and sticks to fan content that appeals to what he actually liked about the series, because it would just stir more negativity and be generally unpleasant for everyone involved otherwise. I'm also a cynical asshole about modern FNaF, but I try to keep it to myself and my friend group out of respect for other people's enjoyment, I don't know how some of the current FNaF fans in the chat actually endured this stream.
The Scott interview segment really proves how incompetent and straight up horrible he is. Whether he is lying or not, this man let dozens of people waste their time, effort, and money, losing time to spend with their family, getting stressed to crunch for months end, and nearly destroying their company's reputation as a result because he CHOSE to not be clear about the story. That is straight up PATHETIC. It is truly a bizarre/cult-like that Steel Wool didn't completely cut ties with him for that.
@3DFella While we need more information to actually confirm that (did he pay the employees for their trouble? Did he apologize to them?) the interview shows him consistently skirting past the issue. He's dressing up his actions in a way that a younger less critical audience would be able to eat up - the fact that this interview is with Dawko, a mega fan with a huge young following who isn't experienced in interviewing decorum, speaks VOLUMES. He wants us to think he took accountability and that these were just small mistakes. But nah, even without watching video essays of game developers tearing this game and Steel Wool apart, anyone who isn't idealizing or coddling Scott can see how utterly unprofessional he is. He consistently made terrible choices despite knowing from experience that they don't end well and completely abandoned Steel Wool once the consequences caught up with him (oh ho I did not forget that part of him, people like to to justify liking him but nah, him being a r*p*blican explains a lot of his behavior back then and now with the way he is collaborating with z10n1sts) He straight up lies in continuing to praise the game and Steel Wool's professionalism, saying that his first priority is the brand. And considering how in touch he is with the fanbase, he KNOWS the truth, and still chooses to say that anyway. His whole group is rife with a toxic positivity mindset who all blatantly refuse and are unable to take any criticism. If they were, they would not let younger, inexperienced fans interview. This is basically like how influencers are always lying through their teeth about sponsored products so they can keep on being sponsored by companies. So I do disagree on the idea that he took accountability because he refuses to be honest about his mistakes in the first place.
At the end of the day, Steel Wool probably makes a LOT of money from being partnered with Scott. (As in, millions and millions of dollars) ASSUMING that Scott cleared up the issue and communicated properly with Ruin and HW2, they were probably willing to overlook the one time that he seriously messed up their development, especially since Steel Wool had bigger issues to deal with at the time (COVID completely destroyed their development pipeline and they had to switch to a WFH system without any time to prepare halfway through SB's development)

I totally recomened watching Design Frame's 'The Truth Behind Steel Wool & Post-Patched Security Breach ► A Case Study of Steel Wool & FNaF' video because it shows how their issues are systemic that will affect any future opportunities. Both parties essentially make an echo chamber of yes-men with no one willing to be harsh and pragmatic about reality of game quality and the studio's reputation as a whole - will Steel Wool ever be able to make more original stuff anymore? Will any other company trust them to make a game with a different IP? Given their reputation, most are rightly skeptical. Will the studio limit itself to just being known as the FNAF studio? The fact that the developers are Scott's friends (gotta love the cronyism) there's a lot more to be concerned about than hopeful for.
@@samiai8905 at the end of the day, Steel Wool are a VR studio first and foremost, and their FNAF VR games are very well received. They probably wouldn't even be MAKING any non-VR games if they weren't working on such a big IP, so I don't see it having an effect on their reputation in any major way. If scott decides to part ways with SWS, they'd probably just go back to making original VR games like they used to, and the added boost from their name recognition would make them sell better than their pre-FNAF days, so I reckon it'll be a net positive

I can't believe we collectively manifested the "Pizza Plex is Phil's Silent Hill" meme into existence by going insane thanks to figuring out the FNaF lore, thus creating the Otherworld Pizza Plex with our subsequent trauma.
Genuinely fucking insane that this stream had an emergent narrative better than the actual story of Security Breach.

For people who don't know: In some versions of the gun mod, it can SOMETIMES unload that section and it's collision for whatever reason, and when you fall, the game takes you to that white sphere. I can usually get around it when it does happen with the Debug menu mod.

How did Phil get that gun mod? I looked for it because I wanted to play with it but I couldn’t find any downloads and it’s apparently outdated and doesn’t work with the current version of SB so even if I could find it I couldn’t use it. If anyone knows where he got it and how he’s using it with the presumably current build of security breach I’d appreciate it.
I saw this in live but as a VOD I decided to play this in the background at the begining of the new year - 2025.
Because you asked, this is very silly but I'm watching this VOD literally the day after the stream took place. I was busy yesterday but I kept checking in to see how things were going, sadly couldn't stay for longer than a few minutes at a time. I imagine this will be one of the streams I tend to rewatch though (the others being Droods and Kong Skull Island just to name a few.) I was just settling down to work on a commission art piece just now! Though, since I have an actual job now as of last month, I am considering getting a membership here starting next season. I'd like to be more present during streams once my life picks up a steady rhythm again instead of just living in VODs lol. See you then! PLEASE take all the time you need to rest, you deserve it! @FNaF_Fan_4yd3n I think he just let go, and honestly, good for him. I'm still stuck here trying to make my own au and a fangame I've been planning for years while not caring at all about the current state of things... and it's still fun, but I do feel alienated for not being able to enjoy any of the new FNaF stuff from SB onwards + any of the books.
At least it looks like Phil actually moved on and said everything he had to say regarding FNaF, it's probably for the better if he doesn't engage with the official stuff and sticks to fan content that appeals to what he actually liked about the series, because it would just stir more negativity and be generally unpleasant for everyone involved otherwise.
I'm also a cynical asshole about modern FNaF, but I try to keep it to myself and my friend group out of respect for other people's enjoyment, I don't know how some of the current FNaF fans in the chat actually endured this stream.
The Scott interview segment really proves how incompetent and straight up horrible he is. Whether he is lying or not, this man let dozens of people waste their time, effort, and money, losing time to spend with their family, getting stressed to crunch for months end, and nearly destroying their company's reputation as a result because he CHOSE to not be clear about the story. That is straight up PATHETIC.
It is truly a bizarre/cult-like that Steel Wool didn't completely cut ties with him for that.

@3DFella While we need more information to actually confirm that (did he pay the employees for their trouble? Did he apologize to them?) the interview shows him consistently skirting past the issue. He's dressing up his actions in a way that a younger less critical audience would be able to eat up - the fact that this interview is with Dawko, a mega fan with a huge young following who isn't experienced in interviewing decorum, speaks VOLUMES.
He wants us to think he took accountability and that these were just small mistakes. But nah, even without watching video essays of game developers tearing this game and Steel Wool apart, anyone who isn't idealizing or coddling Scott can see how utterly unprofessional he is. He consistently made terrible choices despite knowing from experience that they don't end well and completely abandoned Steel Wool once the consequences caught up with him (oh ho I did not forget that part of him, people like to to justify liking him but nah, him being a r*p*blican explains a lot of his behavior back then and now with the way he is collaborating with z10n1sts)
He straight up lies in continuing to praise the game and Steel Wool's professionalism, saying that his first priority is the brand. And considering how in touch he is with the fanbase, he KNOWS the truth, and still chooses to say that anyway.
His whole group is rife with a toxic positivity mindset who all blatantly refuse and are unable to take any criticism. If they were, they would not let younger, inexperienced fans interview. This is basically like how influencers are always lying through their teeth about sponsored products so they can keep on being sponsored by companies.
So I do disagree on the idea that he took accountability because he refuses to be honest about his mistakes in the first place.
At the end of the day, Steel Wool probably makes a LOT of money from being partnered with Scott. (As in, millions and millions of dollars)
ASSUMING that Scott cleared up the issue and communicated properly with Ruin and HW2, they were probably willing to overlook the one time that he seriously messed up their development, especially since Steel Wool had bigger issues to deal with at the time (COVID completely destroyed their development pipeline and they had to switch to a WFH system without any time to prepare halfway through SB's development)
@@Steamlazer Short-term wise, I agree with the benefits. Long-term I believe there's more to be concerned about. I totally recomened watching Design Frame's 'The Truth Behind Steel Wool & Post-Patched Security Breach ► A Case Study of Steel Wool & FNaF' video because it shows how their issues are systemic that will affect any future opportunities.
Both parties essentially make an echo chamber of yes-men with no one willing to be harsh and pragmatic about reality of game quality and the studio's reputation as a whole - will Steel Wool ever be able to make more original stuff anymore? Will any other company trust them to make a game with a different IP? Given their reputation, most are rightly skeptical. Will the studio limit itself to just being known as the FNAF studio? The fact that the developers are Scott's friends (gotta love the cronyism) there's a lot more to be concerned about than hopeful for.
@@samiai8905 at the end of the day, Steel Wool are a VR studio first and foremost, and their FNAF VR games are very well received. They probably wouldn't even be MAKING any non-VR games if they weren't working on such a big IP, so I don't see it having an effect on their reputation in any major way.
If scott decides to part ways with SWS, they'd probably just go back to making original VR games like they used to, and the added boost from their name recognition would make them sell better than their pre-FNAF days, so I reckon it'll be a net positive
