The trigger for them to choose white costumes was a casual comment from bassist and bandleader Miho, "I'm tired of wearing dark clothes on stage. Once in a while, I want to perform in a feminine outfit." was.

Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES are the GODDESSES of heavy , power , thrash metal ! In 2018 , LOVEBITES won the prestigious Metal Hammer GOLDEN GODS Award for "Best New Band" (London,UK). The winners of the GOLDEN GODS Award in different years and in various categories were such famous bands and musicians,such as : Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, Motörhead, Twisted Sister, Ozzy Osbourne, Lemmy Kilmister, Zakk Wylde, Nikki Sixx, Joe Perry, Judas Priest, Anthrax, Slayer, Saxon, Nightwish, Rammstein, Sabaton, Children of Bodom, Arch Enemy (and this is not a complete list).
LOVEBITES is a Japanese female power metal band, formed in 2016 by former Japanese heavy metal band DESTROSE members Miho( bass,backing vocals) and Haruna(drums). The band has successfully performed at various major international rock-festivals many times .In the spring of 2018, LOVEBITES performed on the Japanese leg of the Warped Tour. In August 2018, they performed at Wacken Open Air (Germany), becoming the first Japanese female rock band to perform at the festival. Also in August 2018 they performed on the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air (UK). In 2019, LOVEBITES performed at the Download Festival in Donington (UK) and Download Festival in Madrid (Spain). Their performance in Donington was named by the festival organizers and Metal Hammer magazine as one of the highlights of the festival! In the same year they performed at the Graspop Metal Meeting (Belgium) and the Summer Sonic Festival (Japan). Unfortunately, the Covid pandemic that began in 2020 prevents LOVEBITES from performing at festivals and forced a drastic reduction of concerts.
LOVEBITES is a phenomenal band, all the ladies are talented musicians! For 5 years they have recorded about 50 songs and all the songs are very good!

🐺Miho has been playing the piano since the age of 5. She started playing the bass guitar in school. Great bass player! The fact that such a wonderful band appeared is, first of all, the merit of Miho. She came up with the idea of starting a band and what kind of music the band would play, a combination of power metal and "old school" heavy metal. Miho was able to find and unite all these talented ladies in LOVEBITES.
🐺Haruna has played drums since she was thirteen years old, she also plays keyboards. Haruna is the smallest (4 '9 ") , but appearances are deceiving. When Haruna sits down at the drums, this is the "little BIG Engine." She is one of the best drummers in Japan.
🐺Midori (blond hair) has been playing the piano since she was two years old and the electric organ since she was eight. She started studying guitar at the age of 20. Super guitarist, "Crazy Shredder". She surpasses many male guitarists in speed and technique of playing the guitar.
Graduated from ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka , GIT-DX department (superfast guitar department). ESP / MI JAPAN Osaka is an international music school , headquartered in Hollywood, California, USA.
🐺Miyako (black hair) has been playing the piano since the age of three, received a classical education (piano) and wanted to pursue a career as a pianist. She has been playing the guitar since the age of 18. Super guitarist! They call her "The Golden Touch" and she is a real musical genius. Miyako is the main composer of the band, she wrote over 50% of the music.
* In terms of teamwork , synchronization and harmonization of guitars , Midori and Miyako today are perhaps the best pair of guitarists in the world playing metal. One music critic said that two guitarists of this level (Midori and Miyako) in the same band is a crime!😊
🐺Asami started with R&B and soul music . She studied classical ballet for about 16 years (this is noticeable in her movements on stage, especially the movements of her hands). Started ballet lessons at the age of two. After leaving school, Asami lived for some time in the US, where she came to study jazz and hip hop dance. Plays the piano. Asami wrote most of the lyrics of the band's songs.
All songs LOVEBITES are written in English. Unlike other metal bands, LOVEBITES are always on stage in white dresses . White dresses are their style. The Wolf is the mascot of LOVEBITES and is featured on all band's albums except the first EP "The Lovebites". The band's fans call themselves the 🐺Wolfpack🐺

I have two young daughter's and although metal isn't their first preference, they love Midori & Miyako, cardboard guitars an all. 🐺🤘
The majority of their songs actually do put out a message, usually a very positive and uplifting message. This is just a fun party song, but most of their lyrics are pretty thoughtful.
Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence thus far, they have easily put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. They recently went on a year-long hiatus while they searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 and their fans eagerly await their next move. Some background:
They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet).
Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. With Miho having left for personal reasons, they recently announced their new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist.
They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance was that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters.
They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." Miyako is also a virtuoso concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. Welcome to the Wonderful World of Lovebites. Their intent was to bring back the sound of 80's & 90's Metal - and put their own stamp on it (Mission Accomplished). They wear the gowns for 2 reasons 1. This is one of their funniest and relatively light songs. They can be a lot heavier than this and also softer. They have several ballads that include acoustic guitar and piano, yes, piano, one of the guitarists is a world class classical pianist. With this band there is something for almost everyone, unless you don't like metal. Hard Rock, ballads, Power Metal, Thrash Metal and also often combine genres within the same song.

Hey NORSE, if you wanna provide a music education for your daughter, either send her to Japan or emulate the tutelage program which these ladies underwent in their early years. No specialization but focus on fundamentals and music theory. Be a lifelong learning musician by being multi instrumentalist with emphasis on piano to improve coordination skills, composing abilities and thus developing strength and control in time signature dynamics. The key to Lovebites scintillating performance is their masterful display and control of time signature concepts and dynamics and thus their compositions. Practice, experience and time is the essence. About the genre choice, up to her ingenuity., with these fundamental qualities, the sky is the limit.
BTW Norse, the peculiarity of Lovebites is that they have high fan followings by those in their golden years (50's and above), and especially those who deemed that they have seen and heard it all. Anyway, you could seek answers to this phenomena by delving further into the comments section and for other songs to review. Do explore, for this band never fail to amaze and impress., and i guarantee you will never regret. As for me, I am no metal fan, but I dig this band like crazy and to its core. 🤣🤣

You'll love it), Aldious (Metal), Gacharic Spin, Trident. Other all woman bands of note: Bridear, Fate Gear, Mutant Monster,... and then bands with amazing woman guitarists, ASTERISM, D_Drive. There are plenty more....
Maximum the Hormone has a woman drummer who inspired Akane from band-Maid (and Akane is tops)....

Thanks for reacting to amazing Lovebites and spreading the word; they deserve more recognition. These women are extremely talented, skillful and versatile exceptional musicians. They really shine in their live performances and yes, their performances are just jaw-dropping. Their main influences are Iron Maiden, Metallica, Slayer, Helloween, Angra, Judas Priest, Dragonforce, and even Gary Moore, but they have been developing their unique style. Some people say that they’re redefining metal. Miyako is also a concert-level classical pianist. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined Lovebites. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. Some of their songs are uplifting, with a motivational message.
Unfortunately Miho (bass) left the band last year, but a few days ago the band announced the new bass player, Fami; so they’re ready to set the world on fire. In an interview, Miho (ex bassist) said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. My next suggestions are “Thunder vengeance”, “Break the wall”, “Set the world on fire”. My guess is that your daughter would like “Chopin Etude + Swan song”, “Empty daydream”, “Edge of the world”, “Epilogue”, “Glory to the world”, “Frozen serenade”. All live.

Interesting recommendation as an introduction to LOVEBITES, but I don't disapprove. Compared to most of their other songs this song is only a 6/10. Holy War and Set the World on Fire are good introductions to their sound. Edge of the World, A Frozen Serenade and Epilogue show their musical diversity.

Enjoyed your reaction. Please keep nourishing your daughter's love for music. Miyako (the dark haired guitarist) would be a great role model for her. She started learning classical piano when she was 3 years old. Her goal was to be a concert pianist. When she was 18, she started learning guitar from books. She's completely self-taught on guitar. She's also becoming quite proficient on bass guitar (again self-taught). And she plays drums a little bit. She now composes and arranges most of Lovebite's songs now and says that knowing more instruments allows her do a better job composing. A great LBs song to show your daughter is "Swan Song" with the Chopin intro. Miyako wrote the song and plays both piano and guitar on. May be inspiring for your daughter to see. Peace!
Your daughter will adore Lovebites. I strongly suggest that you react to Swansong…the version with the Chopin Etude intro. Miyako, the dark haired guitarist stage left is a classically trained pianist of concert standard. Your daughter’s eyes will be on stalks. You have the same reaction as I did when I first heard them. The insane level of energy and stage presence they have is awesome. Midori is all over the place interacting with the audience, Miyako lets her guitar do everything, miho is a beast on bass and Haruna is the unstoppable tank.

LOVEBITES is better with live videos than with music videos.
In our experience, live videos outside of LOVEBITES have often not been as reproducible as music videos.
However, since the release of the album, the girls have practiced and improved on some of the songs, and have recreated songs that would be impossible to recreate in a live performance. All are tight performances.
