This censorship, which included altering feminine-looking male characters to women with tomboyish voices, is why the Japanese dub is not my top choice. The best dub, in my opinion, is by Viz Media. Many Sailor Moon fans felt deceived by previous dubs that strayed far from the original, and Viz Media's faithful English translation rectifies this. Despite this, some nostalgic fans criticize the Viz Media dub, dismissing the voice acting and script as unremarkable, simply because it's a direct translation of the original Japanese anime. The surprise regarding the different voice actors stemmed from Viz Media's intent to replicate the original Japanese version, aiming to provide what they believed to be an authentic Sailor Moon experience. My leniency towards the Viz Media dub is due to the belief that Sailor Moon should not have been subject to censorship, allowing viewers to enjoy the series without any alterations from the original Japanese version. While some may be overly critical of this dub, the script and voice acting, in my observation, are more earnest and forthright. Viz Media approached Sailor Moon with a high degree of seriousness, which, in my view, delivered a genuine Sailor Moon experience to the fans.

Some people can't stand the Viz Media dub only because it's a carbon copy of the original Japanese version. I don't care if the Viz Media dub is a rip-off of the original Japanese version, it is perfect just the way it is. I pity people who love the Dic dub because it is a mockery of Naoko Takeuchi's original work. Viz dub or no dub of Sailor Moon for me, I can't stand the Sailor Moon censorship. People who think that the Dic dub of this scene is better than Viz dub need to grow up.
@@GardevoirBoy Viz Did hire the voice actors who did Digimon, so, Michelle Ruff was the perfect voice of Luna, who previously played roles in Digimon, such as Antylamon/Lopmon from Tamers (Season 3), Zoe/Kazemon/Zephyrmon, Spirit Zoe, & Lopmon from Frontier (Season 4), Keenan's mother in Data Squad, Sparrowmon, Spadamon, & the mothers of Mikey & Angie, and other Digimon in Fusion.
No, luna is talking about that guy who saved her from getting hit by a car and took care of her while she had that fever, and she had a crush on him for most of the movie,but he was seeing someone else and was very clueless to luna's feelings for him.
Agreed. Nothing against the newer dub, but this scene was way more impactful in the of dub, especially with the "rowling" cat sob instead of the normal human sounding one here.
