      Most likely. She mentions in an earlier skit, to Brenda no less, that her husband was always working and that he promised that "someday" they'd get to travel and enjoy life. He died before that happened. That loss no doubt taught her alot.

    I stayed at my first job too long because I liked my coworkers and it was super easy. It was to the point where I did about 4 hours of work or less most days but there was no upword growth opportunities. I have told some of my younger colleagues that one of my regrets was staying in that job for 8 years. I think there would have been more career growth if I had job hopped. At the same time being at the stable job for 8 years allowed me to buy a house during the 2008 financial crisis. So its a mixed bag.

    • @daviddonahoe1303
      @daviddonahoe1303 หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      It is not always about career growth. There is something about being satisfied with your job. As long as you make enough to live comfortably while building a nice retirement fund; Is there a need to get a higher position? Being a professional contractor, I sometimes wonder if a nice long career would have been better than the 7 year rotations (length of my usual contracts). Granted I was always lucky to be making slightly above the mean.

      There's no reason to lose contact with the now-former coworkers with whom you liked to work.
      I quit a job about 10 years after I should have, and am still good friends with a handful of people with whom I worked the first few years -- and even some of the later coworkers. There are a few others who I hope, for my own sake, I don't care to see again under any kind of circumstances, but most of the rest are a nameless, faceless blur.

    I can relate this as I’ve suffer career existential crisis with my previous work. It’s not bad per se; I go to work, get paid and not forced to do OT or go an extra mile. But at some point I find myself wanting more, to give myself a sense of purpose while being rewarded. I tried pursuing other paths within the organization but its all for naught as its either I’m rewarded with more work for the same pay or a higher pay but locked by unmet internal requirements.

    I teared up a little watching this. iv gone through this with my previous job (i was in food service) it took a while but i finally put my notice in and it was very emotional for me, I'd been with the company for 7 years but the last three just got really difficult the only reason i stayed were my few coworkers whom im close with, it felt awkward not having a purpose (so to speak) for a while but i found another job its a better fit so far. The funny thing now is after some time passed iv bumped into our regular customers in town and every single one has made the comment i was looking so much better happier and less stressed they've said they miss the service but are happy that im doing better ( ngl i did tear up a bit from some of these conversations) so THANK YOU for this video i hope it hits the same for anyone else watching as it did for me and know your not alone ❤❤❤

    I love the moss that took over my lawn, because it never needs water, and is drought resistant, even when it dries, it comes back every fall. I never water the lawn, if a rescue lawn dies from no water, I don't think it bounces back like moss. I would dye the lawn green or get a moss lawn as a lack of water situation. I think the greenhouse effect on the earth does need to be considered. Moss is a wild lawn so you don't have to mow it either, it is so low maintenance. I LOVE MOSS (IT IS LIKE OUTDOOR CARPET)

    I go in with a positive attitude every morning. A few times per week, something happens - middle management’s poor planning results in me working late for free while they go home, one of them makes an unfounded and incorrect criticism and gets annoyed when I provide the fact or evidence that defends me and they never apologize, or one of them has a screaming fit at an hourly worker. They “lead” by always having everyone on the defensive. I am trying to stick it out for another 6 months to meet a specific financial goal. I’m not getting interviews because I am over 60, as evidenced by my graduation year which is required on every application.
