I understand Berkshire Hathaway has ~$88 B in cash. Can someone tell me where they store that amount of cash without having it invested? Do they have a vault stacked to ceiling with cash? They can't have that much in US Banks knowing the $250k FDIC limit! I have never heard from either Charlie or Warren how they keep such an enormous sum in cash secure!
@@xXTedwarriorXx That's not exactly cash. Only at the time of redemption do you get cash or buy more treasuries! So how does Berkshire Hathaway come up with a few $B's to add to an investment or buy a company?
Treasuries are considered cash because they are very liquid, meaning they can be sold almost instantly without having to reduce their price to entice a buyer. You can read their financial statements posted on their website or at the SEC to get an idea of their cash holdings. No company with billions, even millions, keeps that in physical cash outside of a company savings/checking account at a bank. Given Berkshire is so large, they can’t really keep tens of billions at a bank because if they needed to withdraw a few billion to buy a business, that would probably create issues for the bank. Hence why they keep a huge position of treasury securities.
Not to be argumentative however I believe Charlie and Warren misuse the term "Cash"! Do they have big "shoe boxes" full of 100's in Omaha? How in the world do you keep ~$ 88 B secure and ready for deployment! I understand that some wealthy individuals had several $ M's in SVB and unless Uncle Sammy steps in, they will lose all but $250K. Where in the hell does a little guy keep a couple $ M safe? Don't tell me to ask a financial planner.
The man is a Master at the game of MONOPOLY. WE ALL PLAYED IT AS KIDS. HE PLAYING WITH REAL MONEY AND REAL BUSINESS. CONSUMER DOLLARS FOR MUCH NEEDED PRODUCT,GOODS AND SERVICES. HE MAKES MONEY ON WHAT YOU NEED TO BUY. I wanted to buy shares of GIECO. But couldn’t. Unless I buy shares of Berkshire. Monopoly.
Hey, what have to the guy who was arrested for talking about Gates, Buffet and Epstein?
“That’s as good as you can get”- Warren Buffett 🤣

Clever. “I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.”
Hey! Sooo no reporting on Peter Flaherty's arrest eh? Of course not. "You have been instructed not to notice this"

You commented something similar earlier on this video. I responded there. They are not misusing the term.
