  • This video introduces the radio operator to the non-licensed communications project -- the Channel 3 Project -- which was the cornerstone for AmRRON.
This is part of our video collection posted over at the RFR channel, and we felt it much more appropriate to migrate the videos over to the AmRRON video channel.
Once we finish migrating the older videos, we're looking forward to producing many more with fresh, new content. Stay tuned!

Glad to see new content coming out. Thanks for everything you do. Just finished the revised book. Passing it on for others to read. Oddly it seems more relevant every day. 73!!!

This video needs updated. FRS now shares all 22 Frequencies with GMRS and has a max power of 2 Watts on all but the 7 interstitial frequencies (CH 8-14). CH1-CH7 = 2 watts and CH15-CH22 are 2 watts now.

I've been in AmRRON for almost three years but just now came across this from a mention by another member. Good work!
I read POJ Vol. 1 during the last T-rex because I was unable to actually participate. I have only made it maybe halfway through the SOI, but it is definitely worth its place in the shack and field/go bag. Especially in the latter case, the bound copy is well worth the extra money because it is more compact and tidy.

I wish that I was able to join the AmRRON program, but there aren't any local chapters in the Delaware Valley. At least I'm not aware of any AmRRON chapter in the Bucks County Philadelphia County area.

You should update the FRS to 2 watts.

If you wanted to create a community it would be far more useful to not charge $12 a year for membership. Seems like a good idea but I'm not paying $12 a year. I paid $35 for GMRS for me and my entire family for $10 years and about the same for my ham license. That's about where the fees should be if you need to gank money out of people just wanting to get help in an emergency.

First off, we're not the FCC, so comparing what they charge for a license is irrelevant. Secondly, we work hard to maintain AmRRON, and it costs money. And if you think we're getting rich, well... if you only knew. We're certainly not. Third, sorry that $12 is so offensive. On the other hand, we get check-ins from non AmRRON members all the time, and when there's an emergency, AmRRON will still be there for members and non-members alike, just like we always have. Those who do join appreciate the comraderie and find value in it. Before the $12 membership, the free members rarely (if ever) participated in AmRRON nets. Now they do (at least, much more often). So if you want to help in an emergency, you still can, whether we "gank" you for money or not.

@@amrron2689 yea a template website and $30 monthly hosting and holding an event on free airwaves using repeaters owned by someone else I'm sure costs a ton.
