Banter between Tyler and Burto is gold . Barra swap coming along nicely.
Cheers mate!
Good to see that you did the conversion work before refitting the inner guards. It makes it so much easier.
Definitely!
It'll be one wicked 80 Series once compleed. Looking forward to it's completion.
Me too!
Just keep in mind those studs and nuts on the exhaust manifold as well as turbo to manifold bolts and studs will come loose over time definitely recommend mackielec kit they come with stainless studs, nuts and nordloc washers 👍 I run a Barra patrol setup had issues with standard ones
Okay thanks for the tip mate! Appreciate it
No worry’s mate 👍
My stock barra turbo was pumping out 273 rwkw stock zero issues over five years. Miss that beast.
That's good to know!
Mighty, that 80series is looking mighty, more more of the backtalk shenanigans too
WELL done guys !!!!! all the best
Loving this build, can't wait to see it finished.
Same!
Nine one. The Landcruiser XR6 😁 is progressing well.
Getting there 😁
Finally the Barra build update! Burto spitting wisdom as usual. Keep it up lads

This thing is going to be off its head! Keen to see it start for the first time 😍
You and me both!
Hearing Burto refer to Port Macquarie as Port made me feel like i was back home😃
It looks good, well worth the effort!!
Love your videos and your builds (mainly the GQ) Keep up the awesome work mate!
All of the good stuff! 😮💨💪
Gunna be a race to see whether the barra 40 or 80 is done first haha

Demi’s gonna be doing at least 480kms down the mooney mooney bridge with this build 😂

That turbo is a big unit for an Na donk. Rated at 1000fwhp!car builders for the win!
Yep!
@TylerThompson90 this whip will be the best in the fleet. Love the build vids especially the different stuff. Next build put and LSA into a short wheel base cruiser!
Thanks mate! That would be cool@@SHOCKcustoms
Another good episode the little fella pretty skilled with that glue gun
Burto the world!!
It’s looking good 👍. I’m looking for a new turbo for my GU Patrol coily ute & those pulsar turbos must be good if old mate is using one here & there a lot cheaper than a UFI or Garrett.
First time on here but I’ll be watching more I own a Barra they are a strong engine …Toyota should be a tough truck cool mate 🙏❤️💪😀👍🦘🇦🇺
Barra is not even in the same world as lots of the Toyota motors 2jz being king 6 then down the list.barra is that far down the list it's just funny.groute filled block to make 700 HP 😂. These clowns no nothing.rhe internet is funny
@@Jeep_van Says who I know couple of Barry’s that make close to 2000 horse power ,,Obiously you don’t like Barry’s I have one and I love my 👍
@@jesstill7833 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I see your Mate likes Aldi sockets and rachets haha i have a set myself they are good cheers
nice work again boys
Thanks again!
Coming up smick boys, cant wait to race 😜
Thanks man! That 60 of yours has got no chance 😉
@@TylerThompson90 never doubt the power of Toyota my friend 🤫😂
😂@@macpreston
Killa work lads
Cheers!
Please don't forget to add the Territory badge underneath the Landcruiser badge.
looking good mate i reckon its going to be hard to get this car out of your hands once built lol.
Haha yep!
Where would you be without Burto as he is a legend. Hope you are payng him well?
Only the big bucks
Intresting
Cool video.
Thanks!
Another good vid..💯
Appreciate it
He looks like the cop from the movie scream
Surely you mean the stock internals? cos the block will be fine for however much power you want.
Yeah components inside the blocks, factory NA rods will be the likely thing to break if too much power. Then send a rod out the block, block is gone
Was thinking the same
@BobbyMcBoost is good for a barra tune
The original FZ would have easily handled the future 650 odd hp, reliably. The amount you spent on this conversion, would have to be twice what it would have cost to simply rebuild the original engine, for no advantages, except to keep the Barra Bogans in blissful orgasms. Then you could have fitted the third layer of sound deadening.
Wait! All this effort & the intake ports are full of gunk????????
Still, I enjoyed the episodes.
Hope Dem enjoys it
Thank you for your feedback
Bunch of reasons why I have discussed on previous episodes
- Demi wanted a nice auto, the ZF6 auto that goes with the barra is a much better auto box then the 4 speed toyota one
- A barra will make power cheaper and more reliably then an FZ, a barra is also newer technology which is benefical in these applications
- I make these videos for a living, an engine conversion is more interesting and much more content then turbo-ing an FZ. Like any business you need to spend money to make money. Both Sam Young & Sam eyles have done turbo FZ builds in the last couple of years, no point being the 3rd one on TH-cam.
- Personally we have never done an engine conversion before, while more expensive it is more exciting and interesting for us.
Cheers!
@@TylerThompson90100% agree with your explanation 👏
@@TylerThompson90🎉quality reply mate.
Good episode.
Good luck fuelling the sucker though. It’ll probably cost you $50/100 when you’re enjoying it.
It’s make me think 4JJ1 swap.
me likey burto's shirt
Woosh
Is that a rx3 coupe in the back?
Massive job. Ouch.
Didn’t hear you mention it but did you do upgraded head studs? It’s one of the first things you do in a turbo motor when chasing more power. But if you didn’t upgrade on the na motor then a bit of boost will lift the head without upgraded head studs
Nah haven't done head studs, shouldn't really need them at 300HP mark and 6-8PSI of boost from what we have heard
13:30
this is NOT sound dampening. This is anti DRONE, anti body sound. For that you only need to do parts, where the metal can reflect.
For DAMPENING you need open cell material. Which is pretty much impossible on the floor. Most people use instead a thick carpet. But in the sides and especially below the roof.
Why you putting heavy duty valve springs in the block … they suppose to be in the cylinder head 😅
❤❤❤
Will you try driving up Gunshot the other way ? 🤭
I'll do it
💪🛠️🔥
All engineered approved mod plated and street legal
Facts
I dunno how I feel about this..of course I love it but I'm trying to do 1 000 000 kms on a 1hz..halfway there 😂
🤣
Cmon the barra
Just out of curiosity, why didnt you just source a xr6 turbo motor, i understand it would of been more expensive but it would if been turbo ready and prob cheaper in the long run?
Could have gone that way but yeah just harder to get and much more expensive to get. Can get an NA block for 600-800. Then plan is to run it all in, get everything going nicely and weed out any problems in the set up. Then will invest money into a built motor which can handle more power then a factory turbo
The ol misso has a stack with 2kw of power now you wanna give her a crack at 300kw 😮 put a sneaky ultimate 9 in there slap it on settings 1 when mall crawling 😂 just having a dig no offence intended. You know what mate once its built you will have a hard time getting those keys back of her....
She's going to need a few driving lessons first haha
demis plan coming together...
Yep 😂
Please don't plumb the fuel rail with the in at the back and the outlet halfway down the rail. Front 3 cylinders won't get fuel correctly.
2 Questions:
What has Demi been driving while youve been playing with her car?
Whos cab is that in the background? Is that a later build series?
We have a daily run around/family car now, a Skoda, that she drives everyday. And that is Josh from wire side electrical next door, he's got some plans for it!
@@TylerThompson90 good choice on the skoda.
haha, josh saw what you guys are doing and got inspired
How far away is the turbo from brake master cylinder. Too close it will heat the brake fluid and no brakes ??
We will suss it out!
I'm interested in why the turbo oil drain is gravity when the turbo oil feed is 45psi or thereabouts. Where the hell does the pressure bleed off to in the turbo bearings/bushes? Answer - it can't. So it would not matter if the turbo drain was from the top and the feed was from the bottom. The whole show is at 45psi. But, maybe someone can educate me as to where the 45psi disappears in the turbo.
No idea haha maybe someone else can answer or I'll ask Burto
I hope to hell there will be a brake upgrade - the car couldn't stop when it had no power.......
Bro did you say coming up to Christmas close to the 10min mark? Is your video lead time 3 months? Not complaining, good that a lot is going on, just interesting to know that it takes 3 months to get a video to us.
Yeah just with this episode it was, was filmed half before Christmas and half at the start of feb. But yeah can be anywhere from 1-3 month lead time on eps
@@TylerThompson90 keep up the good work. Even if it takes long. Still love watching the content
Is it a turbo block with 3r rod already
NA block 😬
Noice ... Its only $$ :-)
Come on lads you have to go one better than Sam Young go for 1100 HP at least the alternator in a lot better place than Toyota put it cheers legends ☺️
I reckon I should do it
Please change those plastic pulleys 🤦♂️
Was just about to comment exactly this. I've had 2 fail on my G6E Turbo. 1 shattered and the other got hot around the bearing and melted off. Have since swapped them all to metal. Repco sells them pretty cheap.
*promosm* 😊
Does the conversion come with ear plugs for that shit Barra sound.
Love your videos, but my ocd got the better of me Gear Stick, not Shifter, technically shiter may be right but gear stick is Aussie way.
