I'm glad that you enjoyed my hometown and my beautiful Alberdi. I spent my first 25 years there and lived 3 blocks away from "la cancha de Belgrano". Some notes to imrpove your info. Córdoba is not near the Andes, but near Sierras (Grandes y chicas). The "plaza" you spent the afternoon at is named "Plaza de la Intendencia (City Hall Square) and had been modify in the 90's. Man, no shade of a doubt: Cordoba and Mendoza are far better cities than Buenos Aires, and that includes their people. Buenos Aires has the press, and mainly due to the large number of permanent residents as well as being the port city. However, if you take the time to visit these two (or many others), you will discover what probably is the "real" Argentina, where people are kinder, smarter, in many times more sofisticated, and where architecture joins stunning landscapes. In my opinion, I would visit Mendoza and Cordoba 1000 more times, and wouldn't even remember Buenos Aires exists.
The "Paseo del Buen Pastor" was a women's prison where many political prisoners were murd3red during the last military dictatorship. Many of the guards claim to have seen and heard screams during the night rounds.

I still have mixed feelings. It’s moderately pretty out there. Just came back from a 5 day trip and I met some of the best people and some of the worst people. I dealt with more racism in 5 days in Cordoba than 5 months in Buenos Aires as an Asian American (tho I’m just Chinese to these folks I’m sure). I understand folks don’t get the opportunity to travel outside of Argentina much but there’s a big world out there. I’ve traveled to over 20 countries and have not dealt with the repeated racism and micro aggressions like I’ve dealt here from waiters, Uber drivers, cashiers at farmacity (ha!), people on the streets, restaurants. I even had a local friend with me who was very upset for me. I think the worst was at the cordoba airport heading back to Buenos Aires. The looks of disgust on their faces. I had a staring contest so long that I waved at the lady. The pure hatred beaming out of her eyes. A couple guys too. I’ve found the people to be mostly unpleasant and the folks from the provinces were supposed to be nicer than the folks from BA. The capital is only good for a weekend. Young and vibrant with a nice little bar culture. I recommend going outside to La Cumbrecita or something.
