You all just appeared in my feed. Great channel you have. I routinely search #rv and the such. It underlies the difficulty in getting "discovered " that after months of looking your 11k + sub channel popped up. Im much smaller, at 1.1k subs. but growing. Just ditched the inline tank gauges and ordered the mopeka system. Thank you for the quality videos. Yeti at large
I do more what you call Gig work. God gives me something every where we have stopped. I spent some time harvesting last fall in Kansas, I delivered food for Uber eats last winter in Houston, I spent 3 months servicing irrigation pivots in Florida, then we helped plant crops in Colorado, harvested wheat in Montana and now harvesting crops in Colorado
That's so amazing and something I (Laurie) really needed to hear tonight so thank you! God provides so faithfully. Sounds like you guys have wonderful adventures with that type of work! Thank you again so much for sharing (and for watching!).
I worked remote for years and signed up for Workamping 1 year ago to learn more about it before heading out, and I have also left the remote desk job and ventured out to my local neighborhood to work as a Baker; love it! My body feels much better because I'm "moving" - I know I will enjoy the workkamping jobs now, I just need to get my Camper! Thanks for all your advice!
I love hearing this!!! Yes, it is so much nicer to be out moving around! Excited for you to get your camper! Thanks so much for watching and for your kind words!
There are so many websites you can find jobs on! 🙂 I recently wrote a blog post where I shared 20 websites that you can find jobs on including other important information about each site. Here's a link to our blog where you can learn more if you're interested! whynotwander.com/blog/work-camping/
Love watching your updates. We are now less than a year from going full time, I don’t know how you managed to do it in 6 weeks. Selling the house in the spring and I have some gig work lined up for next fall, then heading south to shop for a newer class A and work on lining up workamping for spring 2025, more than likely in Alaska. Thanks for all the information, it’s very helpful and thought provoking for our upcoming journey.
Thank you so much, Martin!!! It was a lot to do in 6 weeks, that's for sure! Sounds like you guys have a solid plan in place! We are grateful we can share and truly appreciate you watching and commenting!
I work remotely online and typically move around more than it sounds like you do work camping. I'm thankful to have internet that makes it possible (thank you HomeFi hotspot), but maybe I'll see how I can stay put for longer periods of time as I'd like to explore more.
There are definitely pros and cons to both moving around more and settling in for 4 or so months. It is definitely so fun to really get to know places like Yellowstone and other amazing locations of your choice!
We are just starting full time next month. I am working remote for 2 years now, but hate this 9-6 lifestyle. I will still keep my remote job, but we will see that happens next.
Congratulations on going full time soon! Totally get it about the 9-6 lifestyle. It is tough...even remotely. Enjoy every moment of this journey you're about to go on! ☺
I also want yo say thank you fir sharing. I have wanderlust. I hope to go mobile in the future. Im in counter sales in plumbing supply . Single income family.
I plan to retire in 5 years, at 62, and go full time with my bride, camp hosting at state and national parks, primarily for the free site and utilities, but also to experience those parks and surrounding areas. WY, SD, MO, CO in the summers, TN, GA, SC, NC in the winters.
First comment! Thank you so much for sharing. My husband has worked from home for over 20 years. Starlink has made it possible for us to be full time. We are searching for a house that we will use as a short term rental/home base. Chasing 75° up-and-down I 75.
Hi, Valerie! They are not hard to find at all! I recently wrote a blog post with 20 websites you can use to find work camping jobs. Here's the link if you are interested! whynotwander.com/blog/work-camping/
The gig work usually falls between major seasons. For the Minnesota job, we finish our summer jobs usually at the beginning of September so we head to MN by mid September and Matt works for 6-8 weeks. The winter seasons for work camping can vary so this is usually a great time for gig work. Hope that helps!

Is gig working in the same season you are work camping?
