    I went to that palace and the botanical garden. I've been hooked to botanical gardens ever since. The cafes in the area are great. I'll go again soon. Loved the peacefulness.

    Hi… long time viewer. Canadian (Korean!) guy, born in Toronto - with family (in-law’s) in Lunenburg, and yes we’ve been to Blomidon for the best views looking to the South Shore… anyway always love your videos! Sooo good you went to the Sulwahsoo flagship store cafe near the Bukchon Hanoks. I only wish you’d shown the space more in the video. It is arguably one of the most impressive, finest pieces of architecture…. Like anywhere!! Keep up the great work. Big fan out here in Canada. Please keep showing these beautiful nooks and crannies. But also, if you dice deep with the actual spaces, too - I think you’d get a lot of fabulous looks!!! Along with the cafe moments!😊😊

      Oh wow, Lunenburg! Love visiting there during our summers in Canada 🌊 We went to the Osulloc Tea House, actually 🍵 Maybe sometime we’ll check out the Sulhwasoo place~ thanks for watching!

      Love everything you guys do. My wife (also a Sarah(!) from Canada, and also a non-Korean…) and I have two kids. We love watching your channel - and can deeply, deeply relate. Whether from videos between Cape Breton and Mahone Bay, or between Insadong and Busan…!! So everything, like everything, is so interesting to watch. We are doubly proud how you show both our countries, and both our cultures. The two kids, 16 and 13 years old, are ever so proud. They like their Garusogil bakeries as much as their Lahave Bakeries. Their Index Bookshops/Cafes as much as their Nautical Bookshops in Old Town Lunenburg. Even nanna and poppa have their very own Stone Dolsot bibimbap bowls in their Old Lunenburg home at the top of the hill…. Anyway, we all thank you both for doing exactly what you. We miss none of your videos…! Always brightens up our week, wayyyy out here in Canada. 🇨🇦🇰🇷❤❤😊😊

      I stand corrected… ! This is the same place I was went to. Maybe Sulwhasoo was downstairs? At the street entrance, and this was up above with the fabulous views. In any case, it brought back fond memories. I’m ever so struck by the quality, care and attention Koreans put into their spaces, the atmosphere… the ‘hygge’ if you will.🔥 I’m an architect, so I am inspired by everything from the Bluenose in NS and shoreline saltbox structures to Hanok’s and the wonderfully crafted architecture in Seoul and around Korea. Whatever era, there’s such a warm, sophisticated, elegant and natural feel for these places. Thank you for taking us back here!!

    Hiii Sarah! Hiii Kyuho! Thank you for taking us on a tour of the northern part of Seoul. The palace grounds are gorgeous, and that green house, my gosh! Your lunches looked amazing as well! I’m a huge fan of grilled mackerel. I’m so happy that your filet was boneless Sarah! I had to giggle when I saw Kyuho take a spoonful of soup, then drop it into his rice bowl. I’m the opposite….. I’ll take a spoonful of rice, then dip it into my soup. 😊 It’s 6:00 AM here in SoCal, and now I’m hungry for what you both had. LOL! Thank you for the beautiful tour! Take care guys! Have a great week. Cannot wait to see what’s on tap for next Sunday!

I ate there back in 2019 and specifically searched for your instagram account (I hadn’t been following back then) to send it over as a recommendation for you guys to try 😅 it’s a full circle moment! PS - you can buy a bottle of the seasoning they use on their chicken!
    Next time you’re in/near insadong, I’d recommend gaeseong mandu koong and oyatt katsu (the latter over the former if I had to choose 😊)

    Thanks so much for your thoughtful reflection on Changgyeong Palace. Prior to moving to Canada in 1971, when I was a small boy in Seoul, Changgyeong Palace was known as Changgyeongwon, a zoo and amusement park built by the Japanese occupation. As a kid Ithought it was the best place in the world. But I really appreciate the more dignified and sober view of this important place. I learned something ...

    It's so nice to re-discover places you've been before through different eyes.
    Or when visiting a place close to you that you've always just passed by. Last year my mum, brother and I really made an effort to meet up every 6-8 weeks to just take day trips. I usually took the train up to them for a long weekend, but even if I could only stay over a regular 2 day weekend we had fun. I grew up in the commuter belt of a more metropolitan area, but just a 20 minute drive from us is the beginning of a mountainous, wooded area, that soon morphs into an entire mountainous region. We'd drive 20-30 minutes to areas we've maybe been to before or sometimes only passed and just went hiking on the many trails that are around there and then maybe went to a restaurant to round up the day.
    I so cherish those memories and there's so many beautiful places between the place I moved to and where they live (that mountainous region goes south, maybe to a 30 minute train ride north from me). So many places we've passed by so many times, it was so fun exploring them and basking in their natural beauty.

    I love the osulloc tea😢 they have a flower one my hotel would provide but it’s so expensive to try and get that flavor here in the states. I have 2 tea bags sealed from 2018 saved but I’m afraid to drink them if I never get that flavor back lol

    The palaces are gorgeous especially the greenhouse. Do you have to pay a separate entrance fee to go to both palaces?

      The greenhouse was just beyond beautiful 🥹 Yes, you have to pay separate entrance fees since they’re different palaces :)

    I'm very curious about how difficult it might be for a non-Korean speaker to understand how to order in a restaurant. I was able to read the words using Google Translate for beef, pork and chicken but I don't understand how you got the combinations of foods in front of you. Would love a more in-depth video on that. Thanks!

    • @2hearts1seoul
      @2hearts1seoul  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s a tourist area, so they’d likely have English menus too! The combinations of food you’re referring to is the random side dishes they give you :) The ‘main’ meal is either the ‘chicken + soup’ or the ‘fish + soup’, as the meal is a set. The small side dishes usually change depending on the season ☺️
