- They Closed Down a PUBLIC Road and they did it LEGALLY! Coffeyville Street Drags in Coffeyville, KS is where some of the top dog street machines come to legally throw down on the street! Pairing up and running down a public road complete with transitions between concrete to asphalt and back offer drivers one of the ULTIMATE test of their street skills. Coffeyville Street Drags have been turning illegal street racing into a legal tax revenue bump for their city for years by being the only insured, organized, and promoted street racing event in the area! Due to it’s unprepped nature, the road provides unpredictable traction and outcomes during every pass!

They all know losing their car is a possibility in no prep, especially with surface changes like on this street. Unfortunate, but but its difficult to overly punish the other guy when they all agree to race in these conditions. Takes a lot of balls to race no prep with that much power.

I'm starting to notice that too. "There are surprises on this strip". Hell one race it dropped off at the end before the finish line. Do they like seeing people crash? Because I'm convinced that all of these car crashes were due to the hump in this video. Especially that Nova (I think it is).

Most often they dont settle up, crashes are kind of considered to be one of the risks of no prep/street racing. Thats not to say tempers dont sometimes flare because of situations like this, and if you race to wrecklessly to often people simply wont want to run you anymore.

The black Ford f150 came to Tulsa years ago and a all steel Chevy Luv dragged it's ass in a grudge match at the Midnight's. Rumor was the F150 was the fastest truck in the area, but we saw it that night. I personally know the people with the Luv, nothing fancy but it gets the job done.

396 Big block sound like a fib, whats the point of lugging a big block down the track if its only 396 when a small block Chevy is good for 440 cubic inch and a big block is good for 632cid or 496 on a old factory block. Also im 25 and know how to set points, its simple... i call my dad and ask him to help lmao but seriously GMs HEI is cheap and simple, no msd needed

No one,its part of the risks of racing.I got plowed into just like the Mustang and I was lucky the guy owned a shop and helped me out a little. But that is rare and most cases you are on your own.

My town uses an old private airstrip once a year for a spectator drag
The 4th gen Camaro gets a lot of hate but that's generally what you see drag racing....
It's an easy job to mill off 35mm of the road surface and overlay with another 35mm of asphalt after the races. That strip of road can look brand new for a couple thousand dollars, well within a major city budget.

17 in, the Nova smashed into the Mustang because he didn't do a burnout. He didn't heat up his tires, and as soon as the power came in, he lost it.

What generally happens with incidents like the white Mustang was in? It's an organised street race and you get wiped out due to no fault of your own. What's your comeback if at all there is any? Does every driver sign a waiver that states something like 'You're on your own if there is ANY damage/injury that happens to you or your car whether it's your fault or not. Just curious.

Yeah I had a guy help with damages when it happened to me but that is SUPER RARE and he only did it because his body shop sponsored his car. It was still nowhere near what I lost,but that's racing and i was happy he helped.
