Hi LR, just wanted to say that I love the content you're putting out, high quality and insightful commentary making the bike racing less opaque for a casual fan. Think you've got your target market sorted - stingy bastards who didn't want to pay for GCN+. Whatever changes in the licensing happened this year so you can use all this content is a huge boon for your channel.
I have Eurosport subscription as well but I always watch the LR highlights because it actually gets into the tactics and strategies and puts them in context instead of just narrating the action.
What a ride from Adam Yates. I read somewhere that Yates versus Yates would be a nice battle. From this stage, we can see that Yates versus the rest of the best is a nicer battle. Also, I cannot wait until Kuss gets to bag a stage. He looks to be in very good form and condition. Just give this man his own stage win already!
I've always been impressed with how good ineos's teamwork is. The guys in it are superstars and unlike any other team in the peloton, they share their leadership really well yet still maintain good relationship with each other. Proffesionalism at it's finest.
It’s called being focused or in the zone .. anyone on zwift smashing alpe du zwift or ventoux ect..when on personal record knows that feeling, it feels fucking awesome 💪💪💪💪💪🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
When Valverde attacked I was thinking the old man just wants to have some fun or idk maybe preparing an attack from Mas. But when he easily went with Yates I was like wtf is he doing??? At the age of 40?? Also, I was very happy about Chaves, he put up an incredible performance too.
He's probably the fittest and wisest dude in the Peleton. Same with other old guys like Cancellara (although he's retired now)...they just have this freakish strength that has faded over time but their skill and love for the sport is unshakeable. Makes me really wish there were elite masters tours...watching these war heros dual each other would be very entertaining.
Yea he has talent for sure but he just misses the mark in his TT he is not dominant enough to take 1min over the other gc guys and on climbs he cant go with the attacks. He is pretty much snookered by his limitations if they did a 200km mountain stage TT he would solo the other guys into the ground also his team definitely dont make up the deficit for him.
These videos are of such a high quality. I can't believe you're doing this all by yourself. Great content! 🤩 Love the hidden jokes as well, 'no es un ciclista'
Fantastic to see Chaves climbing like that. Big raps on Valverde also, WTF man you are over 40 y.o.! Chapeau. A Yates looks to have assumed leadership at Ineos. Looking forward to the Thomas, Yates show at the Tour. Has Carapaz become super domestique?
RE: Chaves. He did attack from the peloton for 5 or 6 kms. The TV never showed him after the attack. He was consistently gaining time. Yates had a 2nd gear when he noticed Chaves coming behind. It would have been interesting to see both riding mano a mano
I remember seeing Esteban Chaves during the livestream, for the way he teleported I was almost sure he was going to get Yates, magnificent performance nonetheless showing he still has lots to show just as Thomas
Kuss needs to be more tactically astute. He's got the climbing chops. BTW interesting to note that Ineos is sticking to rim brakes at least for stages without technical descents.
Rim brakes are far better for road racing especially when you get a puncture every second counts and the last thing you want is to take a spare wheel from neutral service and the rotor is the wrong size
@@joewakelin198 yeah I don't underestand(well I do, marketing) why everyone's on discs. I think disc technology has the potential to get to the point where it has a quick release and generally improve, but it makes no sense. I've just got a disc road bike and it's so much better for me, but I have to deal with traffic and it doesn't matter how long it takes me to take a wheel out 😅
I must say the momentum seems to be going Adam Yates' way for the TdF... most times in the last decade the TdF winner performed at a very high level in multiple week-long stage races beforehand and this is what he is showing.
Wouldn't go that far; Yates has always been very strong in 1 week races; 1 second behind Roglic in 2019 Tirreno; 14 seconds behind MAL at 2019 Catalunya; 2nd at 2018 Dauphine behind Thomas. He just doesn't bring that form to 3-week races
@@Rahul-eh3rf that is very fair, his consistency over 3 weeks is a big issue. I must say though he usually only does one or two week-long stage races in this form before he has a bad one. It will be interesting to see how he goes at the other week-long races this year
I dunno what it is I just laugh when I hear the phrase “Chaves teleports up to Yates...” I think it’s because LR would use that phrase about MVDP “teleporting” from the back of the peloton to the break. The two riders couldn’t be more opposites of each other!
Great performance from Yates, but if he had worn Geraint Thomas’ watt boosting Oakleys, no one would have even been able to follow him, when he first attacked.
I’m curious 🧐 how long do you think it will take for Christopher Froome to return to his former self after his crash 💥 in 2019 or is he done ✅ do you think I hope he returns
I heard Yates isn't even gonna be on the TDF team. Do you think that's a mistake? TDF course isn't suited for mountain goats like Bernal or Carapaz. Yates probably has the best combo of skills to compete for Yellow right now.
Why does Carapaz accelerate to mark the moves of valverde and Quintana, if the aero elastic between Carapaz and his teammates snaps? I get that it's helpful when the team isn't far behind, but when he goes far ahead, how does that benefit the team? Is it to force other teams to chase carapZ because he then becomes a threat to them, pulling the remaining Ineos guys to him?
I dont understand how Jumbo is using Sepp. He is great at dragging roglic up a mountain day after day, but on his own he doesn't seem to be able to mark all that many attacks, or rather doesn't care to, and lacks the explosiveness to put much pressure on others when he attacks. It would make sense if he was a sneaky GC contender to just sit in with others on the front during a climb without drawing attention and gaining little bits of time here and there...but outside of stage hunting I don't think he will ever be the GC contender people were saying he would be last year at the Tour unless he becomes more powerful. He's still young so we'll see I guess.
Thanks mate appreciate it. I negotiated a licence to use this footage on my channel so really nothing should change other than the footage being in 1080p now
Can anyone tell what no es un ciclista means? Been wondering for some time now, I know a commentator said that when Nairoman attacked in the Tour of Colombia 2019 I think
What the FK you meant by "no es un ciclista" mention on Quintana? If that is a joke, totally off place. While I'm not Nairo's fan, he is an accomplished elite rider.
