One of my favourite things is the ‘Callin’ Oates’ Emergency Hall and Oates helpline that someone set up at 719-26-OATES. The original version had a better musical selection, which included two of my go-to songs - “Every Time You Go Away” and “You Make My Dreams Come True” - but you can currently call it to hear: PRESS 1 “One on One” PRESS 2 “Rich Girl” PRESS 3 “Maneater” PRESS 4 “Private Eyes”
I remember seeing Hall & Oates doing a free concert at Gulfstream racetrack in the mid 90's. I was so sad to see them go from 80's superstars to playing for a couple hundred people at a horse race just 10 years later. Thankfully, after Y2K they got popular again and every concert I saw after that was at a packed arena or stadium.
They both went to Temple U. Daryl dropped out 6 wks before he would’ve gotten his music degree in order to start his career. John got his journalism degree. Daryl’s a musician and John is qualified to be a journalist.
Love hearing this version. The overproduced Korchmar/Bon Jovi version is the lesser of them by quite a bit. They got a hit out of it but it but nothing else on the record sounded like it so they couldn't follow it. Daryl HATES the Korchmar/Bon Jovi version and with good reason. He won't perform it and I'm not sure he ever has.
Very beautiful song.
Seems so heart felt.
Change of Seasons is a great album. I ought to listen to it today.
Best pop/rock duo ever! Thanks a lot for sharing this performance
yes they were so close but now so far away with a restraining order

How timely... Great artists!!!
God I miss David Letterman.
Just loving them...
Tongue in cheek release this morning... 👍. I think they're "Out of Touch" 😆
And maybe out of time...
I can't go for that.
@@teddyray8597 No can do.
The new version out for 2023 - Not So Close :).
No
Well played!
they needed all those guitars.
Beautiful performance by Fred Norris and BabaBooey
That's funny as hell. I never made that connection before. Good one. And Howard is Joey Ramone all over.
Aw. That was nice, Dave. Well, if anyone can bring them back together it would be Jimmy and Guillermo. Fingers crossed.
90% hall 10% mustache

This was a great song...and one of their last big major hits.
This makes it official. Their relationship is dead. RIP
Yeah, pretty sure Dave did call Oates Daryl @ 4:30. Good acoustic version.
Wow! That was back when Hall & Oates were performing together. They should have stayed together.
The name of the act is Daryl & John
@@EightPieceBox Oh. Yeah. They're actually Hall & Oates. My bad. I fixed it up.
@@EightPieceBox Thanks for correcting me.
@KungEMuller no problem, but I was joking and preferred Darryl & Oates. I love their music, but they seem a little too full of themselves.
@@EightPieceBox Yeah. They shouldn't have broken up over something immature.
Che voce ❤❤❤
❤
I hope they honor their great music legacy and keep their personal arguments out of the news. It’s so embarrassing and a let down to fans
Bob Mayo playing guitar on the right?
Yet now so far away.
It’s always about the money!!

Did Dave call Oates Daryl there at 4:30?
Oates isn't too happy lately.
RIP
Just in time as Hall sues Oates.
4 guitars for one song means something is not right!! LoL!
What do u mean?
@@wifinet8838 Nothing. He means nothing.
Didn't this duo write "Sue Smile"?
Sara Smile
@@RubyThompson-j1t Sara was replaced by Sue after some legal tussle.
Oates already spunked his money back in the 80s on cars and other stuff. That guy’s ego is bigger than he’s tall
Great. Another one. When did you meet him to deduce all this?
Too funny that Hall got lone camera time but not Oates.
He’s lead singer
Say It Isn’t So
This was so good, until Dave disses Daryl at the end!!😡
Homey don't play that🚫
:)
RIP
