Dianne, I just want to take a moment to thank you for your tutorials. You have a wonderful way of demonstrating techniques and you have no idea how helpful your videos are. I love your loose style of painting. For someone who grew up being encouraged to always color inside the lines, I'm really trying to loosen up my own style and with your help, I just may get there. Thanks again!
Hi Marion, so glad you are enjoying the videos! I normally use very light pencil and do try to erase them if I can. For the purposes of the video, so viewers can see the drawing, I am using darker pencil marks while making the videos.
Hi Thokchom, I just use Bockingford cold pressed, 300gsm which is a very reasonably priced. The good squirrel mop brush is important for the colour mixing.
Hi Miira, the mix won’t get muddy if I just use three transparent colours and allow them to mix on the paper without too much brush work. If I take my brush and mix the colours, I will get a muddy brown. Just drop the colours into a damp area and let the colours move together by themselves.

The colours mix so well on the paper. Does it require very good quality paper?

How do you get the tape off your picture?
It just peals off. This is not the gummed tape but rather framing tape - it is like masking tape but holds better.
How do you avoid your painting getting muddy?

@@diannemcnaughtonpainter108 Thank you. I really admire your style to paint, especially with only few colors. Greetings from Finland!
