I'm currently halfway through A Little Life and I can't stop thinking about it. It is very well written but not in a pretentious way, and the way she frames the story is so interesting. Definitely emotional but in a way that makes you actually feel the emotions.

I‘m sorry to ruin the mood but I need to address that „A little Life“ is so much worse than Trauma p9rn. I had two videos that opened my eyes and save me from the mistake of reading it. Firstly the great Video of „ Olivia‘s Catastrophe“ and the long very careful crafted video of „Owl Criticism“ please all people that want to read this book, watch these videos before and then decide finally before you do this. And view some of the authors interviews her views are punch in the face.

As someone who bought A Little Life and unhauled it after doing research, it was more about the lack of the research from the author for me. She said she didn't research CSA or PTSD or any of these other subjects that can be tough and triggering and that she only really researched things like the professions of the characters, and that just felt irresponsible to me (given the massive content warning list), which was what put me off reading it. I'm glad other people can find enjoyment in it though, there's something for everyone! 🫶 I don't think there's any denying that her writing is amazing.
