This changed the way I thought about addiction. It helped me feel more compassion (not to enable) for the addict in my life. Knowing what’s going on behind the scenes really helps.

I lived with in addicted person for 57 years probably 40 of that he finally after being in rehab he finally stopped. He was very abusive. My children went through terrible times and myself, and it was always very hard for me to think of it as a disease to me, it was an addiction. I do see it better since I’ve listened to your talk, it does make sense but I also noticed that you said they are still accountable and they still have a choice. I was told by my son that it was all my fault because I would get upset and mad and yell and. I would love to hear what you have to say about that. Thank you.

He just passed away about three months ago and I miss the good person that he could be. That’s what I miss and my kids don’t understand that but it’s it’s the way I feel I’m.

Love that username. I am focused on another side venture centered around disability for addiction.

Is this the full movie? It's only 11 minutes?

No but it's a pretty good summary if you don't want to wade through all the science in the full version

Agree. The brain can change and adapt as a result of positive experiences, as well.

5:30 into the video and still don’t understand how to fight addiction. You’re just talking about how our brains work to make us drink but, no solution.
