George had an amazing voice- he left us far too early
George Michael was in a class of his own, I swear…
True!!! Cowboys and Angels is also another song that's in a class of its own.
Original girl is blonde with short hair. Girl number 2 has long, curly dark hair. You see in the mirror when no. 1 walks in while no. 2 is in bathrobe and hair towel.
Written by two 17 year olds.
It wouldn't happen today.
Most commercial but doesn't show his true talents. Older, the album, written, sang, played most of the instruments and produced.
The man was a musical genius. ❤
It was written by ONE 17 year old -George Michael
This is an absolute top tier song. I'd argue his best work by a long long shot. It's damn near timeless. For 1984 the video is also amazing in that it took nothing away from the song and worked perfectly. If you look at the video there are 2 women. He cheated on the first one with the second one on the yacht.
We aren't prehistoric from the 80's, yes satin sheets and saxophones. 🎷😜
😂
I think you missed the part when the girlfriend walked in on him cheating in the satin sheets, lol! Love your reactions 💥
And he ended up with neither of them
Yes, I'm afraid he really missed that.
He asking questions before music-video delivered the answers and he also sometimes is looking away in wrong moments,
so missed some points of the story.
Yeppers, that will do it every time.
I was going to say that. The girl he rushed was not the girl on the dance floor and he did a different kind of dance with her. Lol
He cheated on the short haired girl with the long haired girl. She walked in on them and got up on outta there.
George Michael has a fantastic voice. This song still gives me goosebumps. 🎶🎶🎶❤️
Follow the vid. He's looking back on the past. The sweet scenes are him with the gf ('friend') he cheated on with the vamp with the sports car/on the yacht/in the satin sheets. The careless whispers he refers to were from a gossipy friend who obvs accidentally grassed him up by telling George's gf that he was cheating with the vamp. 'The dance' is a metaphor for their love affair. He screwed up their 'dance' so he never wants to dance (love) again.
Dont Let The Sun Go Down On Me is a fabulous Elton John song but add George and it is Epic. Take a listen my friend ✌🏼
George Michael is one of the greatest artists of all time. What a talent
And George really disliked the song because of the theme…cheating
He was just amazing.
Legend❤
That’s it, as a reactor you have to pay attention to everything in order to understand all layers, you blink an eye or stop paying attention to think about your own life, and you miss it 🤷🏻♀️
I hope at least you catch how great he was writing this song from A to Z, producing and doing all when he was only 17 years old.
George Michael's voice was spot on live too. There's another reactor Wings of Pegasus (hope I got that right), his name is Fil, & he uses his devices to see who's using tuning & what not. George was perfection. ❤
I love Fil! He is a masterclass in music.
Phil is wonderful! I really like his channel.
Oh the waterbed and satin sheets in the 80’s was so iconic.
I know
We had them in the mid 70’s 😂
@@lynnhoffmann247 Yeah, as a young teen.... I remember my mother loved classic Country music of the era and in 1973 there was this song title by - Jeanne Pruett - Satin Sheets. The sentences goes (satin sheets to lie on, satin pillows to cry on). That song I have not even heard on the radio since that era. Not politically correct perhaps today.
Anyway the point was agreeing that already a status symbol for a suburban home, was to have Satin bedclothes portraying wealth as the song points out it is meaningless if not happy in your relationship.
@@KrizzKalikoOfficialmaybe Mama had this song playing in the background!?😂
I always thought that the "careless whisper" is when his friend told his girlfriend that he cheated on her. Or rumors going around of cheating. He wrote this as a teenager. The cheating already happened; the song is his regret.
Awww Krizz! You went video-blind on account of the Momma Trauma....this is one for the history books ... Instant legend
George and I both live different lifestyles. We didn’t have a lot in common however the music? Absolutely fantastic. This is a top 10 song of all times. Perhaps George had a wonderful voice. I also am amazed to hear how much he truly gave back. You hear this, but you never heard it while George was alive, if you guys get a chance and then watch a video on it, George never wanted anybody to know and he kept that a secret all those years until his death. Hospitals in England if an unfortunate child came in there with a life-threatening disease or surgery and needed extra medical care That went above and beyond because they have free healthcare. George paid for it. When I got to see that board member of the hospital said yes, it was an absolute solemn oath of silence but after his death, we can tell you he helped hundreds and hundreds of children.
The story is so simple - the video takes you through literally step by step! I think your head was elsewhere.
Yes, his head was definitely elsewhere 😂...The lyrics are self explanatory, especially "guilty feet have got no rhythm". Since his head wasn't in it, had he not turned away right when his lady walked in on him with the other woman, it would have explained it all to him 🤷♀
Loved George. My first concert…. RIP ❤
“Mama?” 😂
The video explains the lyrics, but I feel with some artists (George Michael being one of them) where we didn’t care if the lyrics made sense; we just loved hearing the way they sung them and the soulfulness of it. Oh George, you were one of our vanilla-soul brothers and we miss your voice 😢
Krizz you should know that the artist put their own music into the song whatever fits and were creative they also played their own music unlike today with people dubbing music loops off the internet, that’s what makes artists better.
Your "Mamma" realization was dang funny. I almost woke my wife, laughing.
The band Seether do a really good version of this song.
George was such an awesome musician
I've always loved this song. George was in a league of his own. RIP George 🙏🏽 Btw Krizz, I never watched shows I wasn't supposed to 🤣🤣 hehehe
😂
Me neither 🤣. Wouldn’t know anything about the Playboy and Spice channel rumor has it lol.🤣
@@JeffPhillips-dn2fg Of course not 😄
Poor Krizz , don’t even think about what you’re mama was doing .
Just bless her . ❤😅
😂
the heavy rock version of this is awesome
You must react to his live performances. I would recommend anything from his MTV Unplugged session. Highlights for me is definitely Star People, Freedom 90 and I Can't Make You Love Me, but everything is absolutely fine!
Look at the women’s faces. There’s two of them (one is the “friend”, one is a you know what).
lol you turned away when she opened the door and saw the woman sitting there that George cheated with
George is such a great singer. And saxophone is just such a mood creating vibe.
I think the message of the song is: end the relationship before you start the next one or you will likely lose both people before it’s over. Too many toes get stepped on in that type of dance and then nobody wants to dance with you anymore. 😂
The first verse has the line that explains it. He says the look in her eyes on the dance floor reminds him of sad goodbyes in movies. Kind of a thing where he knew in that moment she knew what he had done, is how I took it
One More Try is Amazing!!
RIP ❤ we still have his beautiful music
Many of us have pondered over these lyrics for DECADES!!
I’ve got nothing. Sometimes it bes like that!
This had to he the funniest reaction I have ever heard in my life! Krizz, now your a damn grown man, sorry hunny, your momma was getting her some!
George sang in the group WHAM! Check out their songs. One hoodie one is
WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU
GOGO!
And Hey Saka ans Last Christmas! 👍🙂
He wrote this when he was only 17 👌🏼❤️
We mamas were doing all sorts of things in the 80s. How do you think you all got here?
The girl he’s in love with on the dance floor and the sexy girl on the sailboat are two different women brother. Hence the careless whisper to a good friend (the girl he loves) and the wreck less chance I’ve been given (the fling with the sexy woman of no importance to him) so, he’s never going to (be able to) dance again (because the trust has been broken) the way he danced with her, the true love/friend.
I know you from Jelly Roll Creature. I don't listen to rap music, I am a heavy metal fan. My friend showed me the video Save Me , I liked it so I started listening to his older stuff. Which lead to me hearing you for the first time. Years later, which makes it to today's time, I ran across your channel. In 80s term, Your reflecting on my music and before. Since your looking back on music, listen to Pantera Cemetery Gates. My mom died when I was 5, very strong lyrics. Keep making your music. Thanks Ben!
song always transports me right back to the 80's...I can close my eyes and for a moment be there again.
Back in the 80s we had a lot of sax and violins in our music.
Praying for time and A different Corner are pure class by George
I have always loved this song!!
The girl on the plane had walked in on him and the girl on boat in the satin sheets but you was tripping over your Moms sheets and waterbed you missed it 🤣 Also, Cinemax after dark movies were rated “Hard R” love your reactions 😎
you should check out "only the lonely" by the Motels. a very underated great song.
The most beautiful looking man❤️ really miss him and his beautiful voice…
In the US, this was credited as Wham, not George Michael!
This instrumental + Kaliko singing = ocean wave of puh wah wah
Sexy saxophones started before the 80s, but this sax vamp is mighty good. ❤❤❤
Glenn Frey We Belong To The City song has a good Saxophone in it +
Great one
It's a shame you never saw George perform live. He was a hit machine who gave 150% on stage. I know I was very lucky, and I did NOT have front row seats. I didn't care. I was inside the building. What a talent.
Strolling down memory lane…Cinemax and HBO. I couldn’t get enough of “Porky’s”. 😂😂😂
Written by George and Andrew when they were 17 … George’s said in an interview…when we finished writing it I said to Andrew this is a number one hit for whoever records it .. had no idea at that time I would record it
That’s dope
One of the best songs ever written in my opinion. It is a mood! It is beautifully written and yes, the SAX is a sexy instrument that needs to make a comeback. George wrote this when George was 17 when he was with WHAM but it was a solo song. Those Skinemax years were awesome...lol! The song is about him regretting an affair he had and losing his true love/friend because of it.
Dont dig down the hole of satin sheets & a waterbed with your momma. That is not something you want to envision. LOL
GM wrote the song when he was 17 years old on a school bus. It's amazing how iconic that song is today. Also cheating became more popular.. go figure..Love your show keep on keepin on
If you want a comment, here is my complement…. Your channel is good, I am subscribed, and this might be the the best sax diff.
I’m 92 and I sure had the waterbed and satin sheets in the late 70’s!!
I was single and not going to remarry and had a wild few years like dating five men at once!!!
Settled down but not married but very happy !!!
Beautiful voice!!
The first part talks about how he’s dancing with his girlfriend for the last time. The look in her eyes reminded him of sad endings from movies
oh I remember those late nights on Cinemax :p man.....this song brings back so many memories. from George - So I went out with her for a couple of months but I didn't stop seeing Helen. I thought I was being smart - I had gone from being a total loser to being a two-timer. And I remember my sisters used to give me a hard time because they found out and they really liked the first girl. The whole idea of "Careless Whisper" was the first girl finding out about the second - which she never did. But I started another relationship with a girl called Alexis without finishing the one with Jane. It all got a bit complicated. Jane found out about her and got rid of me... The whole time I thought I was being cool, being this two-timer, but there really wasn't that much emotion involved. I did feel guilty about the first girl - and I have seen her since - and the idea of the song was about her. "Careless Whisper" was us dancing, because we danced a lot, and the idea was - we are dancing... but she knows... and it's finished
I hear this song and I automatically flip back to going to my high school dances. Always thought this was a strange choice to play at prom, but they did play it.
God Bless Brother Krizz
I taught myself how to play this on the sax when I was in sixth grade! 😅
He screwed up a good thing by cheating on his partner . It ruined the relationship and it’s gone forever
Bro saxophone, waterbeds & silk sheets in the 80s is how kids were born
"and I heard an occasional saxaphone" EPIC interjection EH!🍁🍁🍁🍁THAT got my SUBSCRIBED
I remember late night Cinemax!! 😂 Lol! Too funny 🤣.
Funny you should mention his perfectly coiffed hair. I watched an interview with the director of this video who told a story about George fussing about the Florida (filmed in Miami) humidity messing his hair up, that's why he wears that stupid ball cap so many times.
Also, I sleep on a waterbed. They are incredibly comfortable, but very awkward during smexy times. Wobbly bed means wobbly humans.
I remember watching Cinemax but it was scrambled on the old cable box. IYKYK
hey my rookie from a headbanger ! masterpiece
Satin or Silk sheets on a water bed were all the rage in the 70's.
Two different women. The blonde was his girlfriend, the second women is the one he CHEATED with. First girl walks in on them.....that is the story.
It’s just a silly love song. George was a beloved person.
The English artists worshipped at the altar of American music- blues and rhythm and blues.
Please react to Sade! She’s in this same vein. Sweetest Taboo.
My jam!
You should do a deep dive into how this song was made!
Fun fact he wrote this when he was 15 ...But when he was a Member of Wham he gave Andrew Ridgely writing credit so he would have income the rest of his life
good song ....
Best sax riff!
I was introduced to this song when Seether did a cover some years ago. You should check that version out too!
I would like to say, is that Easy E was a real gangster rapper. Not a studio gangster rapper. RIP Easy E the real gangster.
I love this song and your reactions. 🥰The USA is a very young country comparatively. 1776- Which is less than 300 years. We are still babies, with our culture/s. The other cultures of the world are much more deeply rooted. Thank goodness for progress where progress is due. 🤣
Krizz, this is a cheating Song. Regret and the results of
Actions. George wrote this at 17 yrs old. Amazing song!
He wrote this at 17!!!!
Satin sheets and a water bed, totally 80’s lol
check out Seether cover
I don’t think dance meant actually dancing… thinking it was um horizontal dancing if you know what I mean 😉
1 billion views SAYS IT ALL!!!
George Michael 🙂
He wrote this at age 16. And don’t forget Andrew who wrote the really raw melody.
He effed around and lost her because of it. Now regrets it
Lol you were tripping about your mom having satin sheets and you didn't see his girlfriend in the mirror. She walked in catching him cheating with the girl from the boat.
Aussies sang with an American accent too!
If you revisit George Michael check out his unforgettable song JESUS TO A CHILD.
You got caught up thinking about mama and the satin sheets and missed his girlfriend walking into the room and seeing the other girl. Two different women in the video. lol Hint: They have different hair.
I think this song is about a love he had that he didn't appreciate. According to the music video, she obviously surprises him while he's out of town or on a trip and finds he's with another woman. He cheated on her but the grass wasn't greener on the other side and he realized his love was also his best friend.
He was on the dance floor. A good friend carelessly whispered (gossiped, probably while drunk) to his girl that he had cheated on her. Rather than pretending it wasn't true, because he knows his girl isn't a fool, he confesses the truth: he cheated. And now he has lost her forever, and he's in mourning for the relationship. C'mon, Chris, this isn't rocket science! LOL
I think that he cheated on the woman that he loved more than anything else in life and lost her forever.
