      I agree. Based on personal experience working with an investment advisor, I currently have $1m in a well diversified portfolio, that has experienced exponential growth. It is not about having money to invest in stocks,but also you need to be knowledgeable, persistent, and have strong hands to back it up.

    The acceptance of robots has began. The important step of major companies coming together and showing something besides lab testing is a major move that has companies looking for things that they want robots doing. This announcement will start an avalanche.

    Chargeing: There are probably many work stations where a powercord coming from overhead wouldn't be in the way at all.

    taking something out of the oven is not the right response to "hey what's cooking". "I'm cooking X" is the right response. Also note that they removed the door from the oven, because it would have clashed with digit's leg system.. And for their 26 hour demo - nothing was being done that couldn't have been done better by chutes with gates and directors.
    Dont get me wrong, the progress is great, can't wait until it's useful. But put it in perspective. This is why Musk said in the Q4 call (paraphrased) ... that they need to actually find something useful for their bots to do (that cant be done better by existing systems), before putting them into the giga factories. Reigning in the excitement.

      The oven door is still there, it’s just black like the flooring and opens very low compared to conventional ovens (seems to lack the storage space that most domestic models have for pans and stuff.

    • @capitalistdingo
      @capitalistdingo หลายเดือนก่อน

      My mistake, the floor isn’t dark but the large clear door combined with the low level makes it look odd but it is still there.

      A little creepy that humans can talk to Digit and Digit doesn't speak. Agility needs to integrate an LLM and speaking ability into Digit!

    Why not have one set of robots who’s task it is to carry battery packs to other robots on the floor. Then those bots could be working 99% of the time, and maybe for ever 10 bots you only need 1 servicing bot and a stack of extra batteries that are charging /swapped.

    Being able to bend Digit's Knee ("ankle") so that that it can bend all the way down to touch the floor as in the demo simplifies the robot's balance challenge -- notice how vertical Digit's back remains when it bends down. God design............

      @@davab I agree 100% there is enormous value to bipedal bots. Hospitals, perfect for wheels, Factory with few changes works.
      Keep in mind Tesla is building a Gen 2 with Optimous and that is designed into the production system.

    I wonder what will be the next humanoid robot company to have its robots working in warehouse or factory doing real work. I think it will be a chinese humanoid robot company as China really wants to win the humanoid race and they know how to manufacture anything at a low price. But 1X Technology or Figure 01 are developing so rapidly that they may win the second place.
