You are trying to adjust the timing using a bat and by eye, (swinging wildly) as they say. These things are THE most finiky particular beasts ever to bedevil man. Get a dial indicator with a metric dial on it that threads in a spark plug hole, don't cheap out and use the sliding numbered peg, to find your desired timing setting. Mine likes 2.42 mm BTDC and I use a BR8ES plug at .024 since I have the plain non resistor plug boot. I was in that side of the motor 30 times playing with the cheap TDC tool. It worked for me. I hope Tim takes care of you, he really has been a big help to me. Good luck, don't give up, the beginning is always the hardest part!!
Thanks and I figured I would get it close and dial it in but unfortunately the when I went to start it a big puff of smoke came out from in-between the cylinder and head... When I sent the motor out they had to repair a few studs and when I tried to tighten down the head one of the studs was stripped. I really wish they would have done some kind of bench run but back out she goes and hopefully It will be tight when I get it back.
Keep looking to see if running as watched all the episodes. Its like 2 steps forward and one back but your sought it as Pursang looks good.Just bought a Pursang 68 with boat seat and a mark 6 250 both projects will be storing till find correct parts for bikes
Alan Heath I ended up having to send the motor back because the head wasn’t sealing to the cylinder, they replaced a couple of the engine studs and I just got it back. You should see it in the next video i post probably tomorrow. Thanks for watching!
I put that same unit on my M87, single plug version. I sent my numbers concerning that ignition on one of your other vids. I like your kickstand you added! Where did you get it? I haven't figured out where to clip, strap on etc the removeable one yet.
I stock and sell the Vape/Powerdynamo units here in the US. For the Bultaco there is nothing better. Choice of flywheel weight and you get what you you need tuned to your riding capabilities - Dan @ RE-MX

I'm building a 360 Astro and was interested in a similar set up. There's a couple companies that make a kit, how'd you end up liking yours?
