They are actually drilling less, because they are getting less profit for every unit they take out. There will come a time when it's not viable for oil companies to drill for oil. That's why they are trying to make maximum profit now, hence prices not going back down to what they were. Oil isn't the problem, the fact that we won't be able to get it without exorbitant prices is the problem. We need something to replace it, but not because of CO2.

Energy efficiency grants need changing because they don’t work in practice and damage peoples homes. And a lot of firms are making a lot of money from installing dodgy loft insulation. When in reality, loft insulation attracts moisture and causes damp in peoples homes which reduces the value of their homes. As for energy efficiency grants, nice idea but none of them cover replacement for old, damaged UPVC windows in peoples homes which is why people lose a lot of heat from their homes when sealed units in UPVC windows break down over time. As for phasing out gas boilers, according to British Gas engineers, as it stands there are still problems with heat pumps, compared to installing a new, modern gas boiler which is more energy efficient. Your hearts in the right place Rishi but we must do things properly or not at all.
