52% of the workforce get some kind of benefit 😮that’s because government allows low wages and it topped up by tax credits, while billionaires get away with paying minimum wage 🙄

That’s exactly it!! My grandfather bought up five kids and never needed my gran to work and now you not only need two wages but benefits on top and that’s just to keep afloat! The only difference is the upper classes just take more and more without giving anything back. The biggest failure of our times.

The worry I have is that the safety net that used to exist is being whittled away and shamelessly abused. This was a concern of mine (abuse of the system is still an issue),however funding illegals to live in hotels is the priority, and they have failed miserably on this . Historically Labour would be worse.

The priority should be making corporations pay correct amount of Taxes.
The priority be not funding wars and killing of innocent women and children. We have money to fund wars and bombs but not for junior doctors and others. Pay rise in level with inflation.
The priority should be a fair wage. If your working full time have enough money to pay all your expenses. Subsidising corporations so they don't have to pay a living wage so top up with benefits.
Get your priority right. I'm not saying there isn't issue immigration. But it is a drop in the ocean compared to other stuff .

The real unemployment level is much higher than what they are telling you. If you are on a zero hour contract, you are not counted as unemployed, even if you have no work. Also if you are on minimum wage, and you have work for say only 6 days, you are not counted as unemployed for the remaining three weeks of the month. Don't let the Conservatives CON you into believing there is low unemployment.

There used to be a manufacturing company called Remploy that had factories all over the country who employed disabled WW2 war veterans from 1945, then it employed disabled people up to its closure in 2006 . Every single disabled person who worked there has never found a job since it closed down. That company had different divisions that did:
    Electrical Assembly.
    Cabinet making.
    Bookbinding.
Textiles including a big contract providing the army with combat clothing.

Please stop persisting with the regular interviews/appointments with Jobcentre as we are working but have difficult limitations. The constant stress of being scrutinised for our conditions doesn't help. 2.) Make talking therapies more readily available. Ideally in short time. Talking therapies helped me get out of a very dark place and honestly saved my life. I would recommend it to anyone with mental health problems like depression & anxiety.

Get real with this subject, people on benefits are not living the life of luxury, unlike the millionaires and billionaires swindling the tax payer, still waiting for the PPE! If the economy was better managed, fewer people would be suffering mental health issues. If the government did not starve the NHS, mental health services in particular, fewer people would need benefits because they would be receiving the appropriate treatment. I am fed up with journalists vilifying those on low income, who suffer the most when the economy is mis-managed in favour of those who take public money to line their already bulging pockets and spend it abraod. They got rent and utilities paid, plus a few hundreds a month for groceries, mobile, cigarettes (?!) and more; no employable skills, no impulse control, two of them even no literacy at all... What would they expect it to get out of it?

In my day youngsters were introduced to work ethic at a young age. I had three part-time jobs at age 13, newspaper round before school, collecting for a football charity once a fortnight, and a saturday job. Saturday jobs for them to earn some pocket money in retail doesn't exist anymore. Few parents give their children chores to do for their pocket money. At age 15 I was working full-time, and with a saturday and evening job too. If youngsters don't get the opportunities to learn young, the older they get, their less inclined to engage with the big wide world. Plus mass migration has also demoralized many Brits and in some areas they're totally outnumbered. That impacts on their psyche in a detrimental way. @@GiacomoSorbi

So lets say when you go to do your usual 2 weekly signing or whatever it is now the job centre goes we have you this job, Its yours,. Turn up so and so at such and such then it is the persons own fault if they don't go. My thoughts - there are loads of different mental health diagnoses and each one has their own unique symptoms, please do not fall into the trap of thinking mental health is only about depression it is not and your judgements do not help with people being open about their own mental health diagnoses. Going for a jog may help some but not others for many reasons that are not taken into consideration. Judging people with mental health will not get them back to work, if you are focusing your attention on this group of people you are only making your life worse by believing others are better off than yourselves, concentrate on your own life and improve your own circumstances rather than others that you think are riding the system.
Also the government wants you to focus on this in order to take away the attention away from the amount of money they are giving to immigrants that have arrived in our country and have not contributed to our system and this seems to be working for the government, because I don’t hear you talking or judging about how much money is being given to immigrants who have not paid into our system. Gone are the days when you could be on the dole, claiming for kids you don't have or a wife that left years ago, be fair nowadays people have to use food banks to survive and if you are late for an appointment they can stop your money for up to six months. You now have to prove that you are actively seeking work or you get sanctioned(new speak for money docked). Its rough out there if you don't have a job, and only a right wing Tory would claim otherwise. Thank god I'm not on that soul destroying treadmill any more, It ain't fun I can tell you.

The Govt. Should stop welfare benefits of asylum given migrants who never paid any UK taxes ever since given asylum in UK years ago.
Also, why is Govt giving any benefit payments to thousands of boat migrants kept in 4 & 5 star hotels. They don't have to pay rents, for daily meals, no energy or water charges to pay, no landline or broadband or monthly direct debit bills to pay. So why give them any benefit payments at all?
The Govt has placed too many people on welfare benefits by letting all big UK Businesses place all their UK Customer Service Depts abroad since 2010 Tory Ruling.
Further hundreds of thousands of working class citizens sacked off their 15 to over 20 years of jobs due to and during corona lockdown
    Govt. Restrictions.
Further hundreds of thousands sacked by supermarket chain stores all over UK as they could not pay 2022 placed Govt. minimum £10 per hour to till operator staff by keeping open from 8am till 10pm daily 6 days a week & from 10am to 4pm on Sundays. They placed self tilling by sacking 8 out of 10 till staff.
Small businesses & High Street shops sacked staff as they can't afford to pay £10 per hour if opening from 9am to 6pm, 6 days a week.
If Govt. throws away £8 million per day on giving VIP living in hotels to migrants from UK's tax incomes the Govt. will face shortage of tax.
Use common sense to realise fact that thise who only ended as unemployed due to lockdown worked for decades & paid taxes as they did nit want to live on low benefits in poverty.
In 2010 Tories threw thousands of citizens out of benefit claims. Such lot of homeless citizens would not be living & sleeping in cold & rain on streets if they could find jobs to go to.

Remploy was shut-down and none of their disabled workers were ever hired by anyone else because of disability. 130k disabled, elderly & infirm died by the 'work capability assement' - pensions have been severely cut too. Further, 'Universal Credit' & HMRC, is crossing so many barriers in terms of privacy & data protection concerns that it would be extremely difficult to 'fob off the system'. At some point people have to realise that it's 'big government' that is the problem, who give tonnes of money to civil servants, migrants (legal & illegal), foreign aid (particularly billions to India who have their own space program).

AI will screw most jobs and it will only be a few years coming. We need a basic income system, we will all be better off.

Realistically there isn't enough workers actually contributing, when all the in work benefits are added up, a worker needs to be on a pretty high wage before putting money in the government purse through income tax.

More and more people will be entering the mental health condition cohort from the younger generations due to family breakdown our factory farm education system, which for years has shoved children through a pointless academic curriculum which they are not suited to, but the schools are under pressure to tick boxes. Support workers for people with complex mental health issues appear to have no creative ideas, but again are pressured to tick boxes. When we begin seeing people as individuals with unique gifts and potential, the mental health of the population in this country may improve; but the ridiculous methods implemented in all of our services and institutions just shoves the problem down the road creating bigger problems in the long term.
