Yumi is one of my personal favorites of the show aside from Odd.. I will always have a sweet spot for Odd as he always had good energy and protected Aelita like a sister. That being said, I've always admired Yumi's badass attitude and her gymnastic abilities. Such a gifted warrior.
Give the writers credit for "unique weapon." Personally I'm fairly sure (based on several inferences, and how Odd directly states he fires his laser arrows) that the throwing method is "visualize trajectory, then throw compatible with that." (No midcourse updates though.) Probably a pretty hard weapon to use, actually, so give her credit where it's due.

Yumi is okay. Season 1 Yumi was absolutely atrocious. There was an episode where she got devirtualized in like two seconds, lol. Season 2, she was better but not all that much and same with season three, but season 4 is where I think she finally felt like she was actually holding her own without me thinking it's game over everytime she was the last one standing.

Yumi isn't bad outside of her luck. Luck rarely ever favors Yumi, but she has the skills to overcome that and be an awesome Lyoko Warrior.
